Wow this is huge news. Although I think it may be somewhat of PR move by Bud Selig and MLB. It is kind of ridiculous for the career hits leader not to be in The Hall. Plus I think he had alot of support behind him, Rose that is. And He won't make a spectacle of the HOF inductions like he does every year.

Hey Heads, I think you might need a tiebreaker. The site is alot bigger than it was a year ago. Oh and I have a tiebreaker suggestion.... The number of suspensions before January 1, of players in the Orange Bowl (Miami vs. Florida St.) I know Fla St is always good for a couple. And Miami showed what thugs they are at the end of that Virginia tech game. Bonus points for naming the infractions (i.e. breaking team rules, Breaking curfew, Random Felony, DUI)

That sucks, they were about to put themselves in a real positon to be a factor in the Big Ten. And I certainly thin they are going to make the tourney this year. I was pretty sceptical before the season started... I really wanna see the Texas Tech game on the 22nd... I think they'll lose, but that's a quality test. That will really tell alot about how the Big ten season is going to go.

I was on a different computer last night and I noticed my sig was too wide, I had to scroll right to read my full post. Do alot of you have that problem ar was it the crappy Compy 386 that is was on last night?

The way I see it, The Sox signed a pitcher who reminds me of a young andy Pettitte. For far less money than Pettitte just signed for.... Buehrle's numbers compare very favorably to pettitte... The real reaon Pettite is getting more is the post season victories and NY factor. I love this signing, It says to MB that we are committed to him for the near future and the kid can go out there and just pitch. Plus the Kid is only going to be 25 on opening day. He still has tons of upside, as he continues to figure out how to pitch to big league batters. Further comparing Pettite and MB, MB had easily his worst season last year, and still posted a 4.14 ERA, Pettite on the other hand, who's now getting 31.5MIL over the next 3 years, Posted only a marginally better 4.02 ERA, Yielding 21 wins. MB's real trouble was in the beginning of the year his inabilty to pick up his teammates when they committed and error. He had a carreer hign 18 unearned runs score. This was largely the problem over the early winless streak. So overall I think the sox have great value in MB for the next 3 years and possibly 4. In any case, Kudos to the White Sox front office for FINALLY treating this kid right. I'm putting an authentic MB jersey on my Christmas list as we speak.

I read moneyball.... I think a lot of people here need to read it... They are flying off the handle about not being able to sign anybody... Reading this book puts it all in perspective and gives you a little hope that building a winning team on a tight buget can be done.

And wound up the next year as a tiger? and the quickest to the majors from that draft? He said something to the effect of "I would never play for chicago, I don't like that towN? 222 233 242 Those are his innings pitched for the last 3 years... He is destined for a breakdown in the next 4 years... We saw a period of about 4 starts where he had a "dead arm" ... I suspect he'll end up with a "dead arm" for an extended period at some point in the next 4 years.... I believe what coop said now about him saying he was going to retrun to the sox.. He was probably willing to come here for less money.... but not less money and less years... He just got a better offer..on the bright side he has a carrer 4.82 ERA against us...

I think that reed is our 4th best outfield option right now... That being said, I don't wan't him on the 25 man roster, not unless he's playing everyday... Let him get some more seasoning at AAA.... Rowand I think is going to break out... He was gapping doubles last year, in the second half, like i have never seen him before... and he almost finished with a higher Avg. than Carlos. If given the the opportunity to play CF, I think AR will put up some decent numbers.. .278 18HR 74RBI
