Who should go to the Sugar Bowl?
Gene Honda Civic replied to danman31's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Well we all know Oklahoma shouldn't go... since they lost... so Kansas St should go--- they beat OU but... KSU lost to Marshall but... Marshall lost to Troy St but... Troy St lost to North Texas but... North Texas lost to Oklahoma... Therefore Oklahoma should go to the Sugar Bowl.... -
I LOVE BCS chaos.... But this divided on this game.... before teh bowl games last year, I picked Oklahoma to to be national champs this one. I don't know which I'd rather see the BCS blown up or me predicting the National champs a year in advance.
-
my bad..... he IS a FA..... Still there is no reason to post that s*** on here.... I resign all allegiances to this team is we sign that f***head
-
That was some cubs troll loser....... he's still under contract... not a FA

why has everyone givein up on koch and konerko
Gene Honda Civic replied to soxfan420's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I was never sold on Koch... I hated his numbers... A much higher WHIP than Foulke.. higher ERA... BAA about the same... BUT he nevr gets out of an inning without putting someone on. :fyou BILLY KOCH.... I've always hated you and ALWAYS will. Konerko... was in the tank for the second half of 2002... the first half of 2003... and the last month of 2003.... I think paulie has a world of talent.. But the guy takes the game too seriously.... every at-bat is life and death with him... it's great when you're going good... but paulie could go 3 for 4 with 1HR and 2 doubles. and he'd be stressing about that one he hit to the warning track. I don't think I could stand another season of watching this guy tear himself up inside.... I really like Paulie and think a change of scenery might do him some good... he could really put up some numbers in the NL... he could, however, post another .220 season on the south side with us.. and I don't like paying $8MIL for that. -
Looks like Kaz is going to the mets..... still just a rumor though
-
I don't know if this qualifies as sports.... But I'd watch
-
Rumor has it the Twins are tring to deal ...
Gene Honda Civic replied to mac9001's topic in Pale Hose Talk
That sounds like a legit offer... I just wonder what "prospects" means -
if that's the truth.... then I think we may have a shot at Colon. /crosses fingers, prays
-
i don't know what he would be asking for this year. But last years salary was WAY out of our price range: 2003 Salary: $14,750,000
-
I read from someone on here, that the deal we offered, as it was structured, was kind of a joke. Although the overall figure we heard may have sounded good, It was insentive-laden and back-ended. I think we may have to retool our offer to Colon to get him to consider coming back.

Konerko Rumor in LA Times
Gene Honda Civic replied to Al Lopez Ghost (old)'s topic in Pale Hose Talk
Agreed... It's even hinted at on Whitesox.com It just becomes more of a reality IF the Konerko deal goes through. -
On the ESPN site, there's an Insiders link that says: "Rumors: Angels make Colon 4-year offer?" Anyone know the specifics of this? Have the text? How does it compare to the Sox offer? I know we offered 3 years. But with maybe the Yanks and Phils out of the running, and maybe clearing payroll w/ a Kongerko deal, Could we pony up a better offer? Will Colon be coming back to us?
-
Agreed .... But not even KW is that stupid. Sounds like Lee was never really on the table.
-
Cruising the Dodgers site.. It looks like everyone there doesn't think Kongerko is enough value for perez... Most even wanted Perez for Lee + Prospect... my guess is it will be Kong + Prospect(Borchard?) and or CASH..... We all know KW can't make a deal without throwing in some $$$. I doubt this will free up as salary as most here think. There is still another move to be made.

I found this picture on the same site... I usually don't hold my "joystick" when there are two women present either.

Beastly you're showing your age.... N64 does not classify as classic video games.... I still have mine hooked up. Of course I still have a working atart 2600 w/ full woodgrain action.

I wouldn't be surprised if the BIG STIEN did sign 3 big name pitchers. That being said, I think he may be sandbagging on one of them.... not much has been said of Greg Maddux. I could see him in pinstripes come april.

Here's my 5 I love no particular order... I had a hard time putting five together... everything I'm really Digging was released last year. Pete Yorn - Day I Forgot Sophmore album -- avoided "sophmore slump"(read Strokes) -- Kept It original and inventive. My favorite artist to go see at a small venue(read Shubas), since Jeff Buckley. Jack Johnson - On and On It's hard to really apreciate this album, being such a rabid fan, I had already accumulated all but three of the songs off of this record, from live recordings or Kazaa, months before the release. Great summer music, sit by the water with a drink in hand and forget your problems. Entire Record is solid, It just seems to be a few years old to me. Ben Harper - Diamonds on the Inside Ben Harpers best Studio Album. Much like Dave Mathews Band, Ben has never captured the energy from one of his live shows. This is, however, the most polished and finely crafted any of his songs have been. OutKast - Double Album Tough to categorize this one -- innovative. the only bad thing about this album is the two of them didn't work together. I see them parting ways in the future Joss Stone - Soul Sessions This one "shouldn't" be on the list... But I can't get the CD out of my player. So It end up here by default. This WHITE-ENGLISH girl of only 16years, belts out soul like the queen herself, Aretha franklin. I've taken to calling her the Princess of soul. It speaks to her ability, the people she had working wih her on this album. She takes these old forgotten songs and breathes new life into them, while making them her own.

I used to be a huge LTJ fan... went to shows back-in-the-day when Jessica was in the band. Fireside Bowl Rawks \m/ Bought "borders and boundries" a few years ago when it came out and was severly disappointed. Didn't get "black and Blue" or the newest one... I still rock out to the old stuff occasionally though.

he hit 4 of his 10 HR's away from coors... with such a small sample that extrapolates to 12-20 HR's @ the Cell
-
After looking at the Splits... I don't think this means Jose is on his way out... this looks like a replacement for Tony G. he will play versus Left-handed pitching.... he hits 150 points better than jose versus LHP but 100 points worse vs RHP...

just saw it scroll across the bottom of ESPN --- hopefully this means something else is about to get done with Jose.
