This is the first time in the last 2 years that I can honestly say that Iowa was out-coached. Iowa is a zone defense team that rushes only the front four. This is a problem with spread offenses. norm Parker decided to throw in a lot of blitz packages, a system he employed 2 years ago versus Texas Tech. The difference however was the fact that TT never had a power running game, Purdue does. That makes Iowa have to honor both the run and the pass. Iowa WAS without both thier starting Defensive tackles, but an Iowa team has to start by defending the run. You have to remeber after 6 games last year Iowa was 117th in the nation against the pass. They did have a bunch of mistakes early, but not making mistakes is the calling card of a well coached football team. The game would have been different if they hadn't made those early mistakes. But overall Iowa and Purdue are very evenly matched. Factor in the homefield advatage, and Ferentz & staff getting out-coached for the first time I can remember, and you get today's result, an impressive victory for Purdue.

That's actually 40 straight.... Why do you have them on the schedule.... This isn't a competition.. it's like me playing a 4th grader in basketball. If you've won 40 straigh versus an opponent, I'd expect to to show some class, act like you've done it before, not celebrate like you've just won a national championship.

This game just kept me busy for the past half hour. Maybe it's cuz i had a few drinks but I can't figure out how to beat that guy. Can anyone fare any better than me?

What's more troubling is the fact that the USA is eliminated from the Olympics... That system needs to be looked at... The US goes 3-0 in pool play. To take the #1 seed, and avoid a match-up with cuba. they only need to beat Mexico, who was 0-3 in pool play. But the system is single elimination. We all know what can happen in any SINGLE baseball game. US loses to mexico, Now has a 3-1 record, won't be in the Olympics; Mexico, at 1-3, by virtue of one victory over the US, still has a shot at the Olympics.

The end of that season looks eerily similar to this years.

There's nobody there... you'd be all by your lonesome.

Bones your probably too young to remember.. but the gist of it is: it a RPG where you are Larry. And you have to collect different items, say the right things, whatever, to hook up with women. Each game featured a slightly different overall objective.... I remember one was on a cruise ship... I guess this one he's in college. basically it's about getting larry laid, and any bad sexual joke you can throw in along the way.

Any news on Carl Everett... I heard he got kicked out of the Field Museum for causing a scene. He was chasing around school children, who were on tours, ranting that "those bones are fake. There never were any dinosaurs."

I don't really know anything about this guy. My comment is more along the line of our involvement with the asian marketplace. To me it seems like we're not a big player over there. And with the amount of free-agents that seem to be coming over from there and performing at the major league level, i think this is an area we need to concentrate on and cultivate for the future.

I reached the halfway point today.... and this post puts me even closer to the club.
