  1. "Ione" Skye Bolt would be an upgrade over Gavin Sheets at this point (wash offensively, massive upgrade defensively) Thank about that for a minute.
  2. It's only $24M total over two years. This wouldn't interfere with a long term $30M + AAV contract. Including Grandal would be the price for Graveman. Not looking for Yankee prospects in return, just salary dump which theoretically if Hahn is gone could be used productively. Would also take a Graveman & Joe Kelly deal for a bag of balls, and an Arby's coupon book to get Jerry on board.
  3. If they lose the next two, there is a good chance they are selling at least around the edges. Not looking for a huge tear down, more like a tree trimming. Tim Anderson would be the primary big ticket piece you can get a massive score for. There are no contenders he makes sense for this week (in terms of getting an overpay), but the Dodgers could be an great landing spot if they do not resign Trea Turner. Problem is, would like to have someone other than Rick Hahn to pull the trigger with your one huge trade chip, especially with a Top 3 FO like the Dodgers who fleeced Hahn in the Kimbrel Pollock debacle. Wouldn't trade Abreu unless he wanted out. He could want one legitimate chance in his life for a WS, but he has too much pride and would not abandon his teammates in this manner. His character will not permit it. I think you can link a bad contract like Pollock or Grandal with Graveman on a team looking for a backup OF/C. Thinking the Yankees (Grandal / Graveman) would be the team most interested. May also take a chance on Lynn or be willing to eat Kelly's deal, which works for me.
  4. Thread to propose the players you would sell at the deadline, based on trade partner needs & legitimate WS contention, and prospects / young players you would like in return. I'm formulating my list now, perhaps nobody over 27 will be spared.
  5. Jose is the guy who finishes ballgames. Tim must be the other one.
  6. Yep, just waiting for Pretty Boy Keith Hernandez to become POTUS, just like LBJ, Ford and HW Bush.
  7. This is the key shot. The President going back, and to his left. Shot from the front right. Totally inconsistent with the shot from the Depository. Again. Back, and to the left. Back, and to the left. Back, and to the left. - Jim Garrison, JFK 1991
  8. Yeah, but the double plays turn into triple plays when you watch the broadcast. I follow on gamecast as well, haven't watched or listened all season. Boycotting my final season following baseball, watching twitter replays for highlowlights.
  9. Leading the Rest in Rest. Honorable Mention: Fuck you, pay me. RIP Paul Sorvino
  10. I feel as though I let the board down with my Game Thread today. Had really good feelings the White Sox would make a solid run this week at home. but it feels like I was bombarded the entire afternoon and evening by Tony La Russa's Evil Samurai Spirts. Vaughn benched Sheets in RF because Tony needs more Sheets in RF Robert sent on a commercial flight to catch a cold/COVID for a nonsensical rehab assignment Grandal not catching because that would allow Vaughn to play and we can't have that I let the board down, the city down, and also mankind. I hang my head in shame, knowing that somehow I did not do everything humanly possible to bring a winning streak to this team. I have joined the countless others who had the same dreams and aspirations, only to fall victim to this 2022 White Sox team, a Jerry Reinsdorf, Rick Hahn, Tony La Russa Production.
  11. Dunning would have helped the team the last two years. 2.5 fWAR since the trade, will likely outperform Lynn the rest of the way at the ML minimum with the savings that could have been used for an actual RF and more. Yeah, gave a fuck enough to take a 5 day vacation because he couldn't check himself.
  12. Organizations draft and develop pitchers. The Sox are unable. Timmy needs condoms.
  13. Yes, he blew up the one time out of the bullpen with the Sox, but he has pitched well like he has as a starter with the club. Was surprised Tony allowed him back on the roster after throwing Jose Ramirez a strike before Tony intentionally walked him, and threw Davis under the bus about it postgame.
  14. Just wants to get back to his side piece at the hotel by 10.
  15. Montas and Hard Carl would still work, Hahn's ego would never allow the latter.
  16. It's old too. They just give Jerry warm churros. He can't see or understand what is transpiring on the field anymore. Just like Tony. The only free agents who sign here are players seeking their last MLB contract. Period. 2020: Grandal, Keuchel, Parrot, Cishek, Gio Gonzalez 2021: Eaton, Hendriks, 2022: Graveman, Kelly, Harrison
  17. To me, the decision would be based on whether you would play Colas as a regular. is he your best option as a RF and is he ready to face ML pitching on a regular basis. I prioritize defense much more than La Russa. They are starting league worst outfielders in Sheets and Vaughn. Whatever platoon advantage or OPS advantage Sheets could provide vs. RHP over Engel, Leury or others, is offset by the fact he is costing your pitching staff outs and team runs on a regular basis. This turns into more pressure on your bullpen when they have to cover a starter who left early or the extra outs forced within a reliever's outing. They were able to get away with terrible RF defense in 2021 (Eaton, Goodwin, Lamb) because that team was mashing the ball, and they scored several runs per game on a regular basis. They played in many blowouts (32 wins were by 5+ runs). This year they've won 11 blowout games with 2/3 of the season gone. This taxes the bullpen, as each and every pitch is crucial, whereas you're pitching to contact with a large lead. Sheets playing RF on a regular basis adds to the stress. Relievers break down more often as a result, and starters are lifted earlier since they are required to get 1-2 extra outs per outing.
  18. Checks the transaction page, oh it's Vaughn and Kath for Gregory Soto. Got it.
  19. One relief appearance in 2022 for the White Sox: 1/3 IP, 3 H, 2 BB, 0 K, 3 ER, 1 Blown Save
