  2. "Our team is on the floor." - Rick Hahn, January 19, 2021 No team is winning anything, let alone "multiple championships", with this track record. Major League Acquisitions 2021 - Spring Training through Year End (10 + Games Played): 3/16/21 Billy Hamilton (71 Games, 0.4 bWAR) 3/30/21 Jake Lamb (12 Games, -0.3 bWAR) 5/5/21 Brian Goodwin (72 Games, -0.5 bWAR) 7/29/21 Cesar Hernandez (53 Games, -0.7 bWAR) 7/29/21 Ryan Tepera (22 Games, 0.6 bWAR) 7/30/21 Craig Kimbrel (24 Games, 0.0 bWAR) Major League Acquisitions 2022 - Spring Training through Yesterday (5 + Games Played): 11/30/21 Kendall Graveman (16 Games, 0.2 bWAR) 12/1/22 Leury Garcia (26 Games, -0.4 bWAR) 3/14/22 Vince Velasquez (6 Games, -0.1 bWAR) 3/15/22 Josh Harrison (23 Games, -0.1 bWAR) 4/1/22 AJ Pollock (20 Games, -0.3 bWAR)

  4. Hello, exactly. Pearl clutchers, pass on the vanilla Suburbia chains and shopping mall ambiance. Skylark & Marz pre/post game. Stay downtown, you'll be fine. Plenty of fine dining or cheap eats, fancy cocktails or dive bars at your disposal. Enjoy your visit and report back on what you enjoyed during your trip IN Chicago.
  5. Bump Vaughn up from the 9 hole and play him more and he'll surpass 20. Robert and Abreu will definitely surpass 20 assuming they stay healthy. Sheets and Grandal have a decent chance if they can get in 120 games.
  6. Where is Liam tonight? Nevermind, Gameday slow to load.
  7. Why didn't Pollock hit there? Sheets is not a ML hitter vs. LHP.
  8. Well, it's better than using Liam Hendriks. Baby steps.
  9. Alex Anthopolous has a solid track record across three top MLB teams. July 2021 Trade Deadline Transactions: Acquired Adam Duvall (1.2 bWAR final two months) Jorge Soler (1.1) Eddie Rosario (0.5) and Joc Pederson (0.2) at the deadline, for negligible pieces. Rick Hahn was promoted from Assistant General Manager to the General Manager role in October 2012. July 2021 Trade Deadline Transactions: Acquired Ryan Tepera (0.6 bWAR final two months) Craig Kimbrel (0.0) and Cesar Hernandez (-0.7), Stuck with Brian Goodwin (-0.5) as his primary Right Fielder for the final two months, after cutting bait on Adam Eaton.

  11. Yes, but this is a White Sox message board and Tony hasn't done much during his near decade with the White Sox, certainly nothing "Legit Hall of Fame" worthy, Brother. 1979 27-27 .500 1980 70-90 .438 1981 54-52 .509 1982 87-75 .537 1983 99-63 .611 (Lost 1-3 in the ALCS) 1984 74-88 .457 1985 85-77 .525 1986 26-38 .406 2021 93-69 .574 (Lost 1-3 in the ALDS) 2022 16-17 .485 Overall 631-596 .514 (Plus 2-6 .250 in the Playoffs)
  12. Five: 4/13 Leury Garcia for Eloy Jimenez - 5th inning - Groundout 3B to 1B 5/6 Adam Engel for Gavin Sheets - 6th Inning, - Flyout to RF 5/7 Josh Harrison for Gavin Sheets - 8th inning - Groundout SS to 2B 5/8 Adam Engel for Gavin Sheets - 6th inning - Hit By Pitch 5/15 Yasmani Grandal for Reese McGwire - 8th inning - Flyout to RF Tony or someone appeared to be awake during the Boston Series. Coincidently, it's has been the one 3 game sweep of the season.
  13. White Sox Math: 2017 Cody Asche OPS .353 2022 Reese McGwire .322 Bring back the banner, please!
  14. Pollock LF + Sheets/Engel RF > Eloy / Vaughn LF + Pollock RF
  15. Should have traded Eloy last offseason, rumor had it Ng wanted him, and they had excess pitching. Eloy will never be able to play on a regular basis, and the club doubts he will be able to hit as a DH.
  16. Pollock makes no sense, he can give you a solid LF, he is garbage in RF. Doesn't matter what we think, Leury will get a bunch of time out there in addition to Sheets and Engel. Perhaps the Sox will trade with the Dodgers to rescue Jake Lamb from their AAA team.
  17. They don't have a RF, Sheets/Engel platoon is their best current option.
  18. Eloy also needs to play DH upon his return, to determine whether he can be successful at it in the future. Pollock is solid in LF, is not a RF.
  19. It would be the lone baseball reason Jerry would fire Tony.
  20. He is correct about the bullpen workload. As James Fegan reported yesterday: https://theathletic.com/3311264/2022/05/14/the-white-sox-are-playing-too-many-hard-games-to-avoid-hard-bullpen-decisions/ A good portion of the responsibility rests on the sputtering hitters. The Sox' 10 of 16 2022 wins have been close games (1-3 runs) with only 1 "blow out" 5+ run win. The Sox won 32 blowout games (5 + run wins) last season.
