  1. That would be false, be it for Olympics, MLB, or any other boondoggle. Catch Field of Schemes for hundreds of examples. https://www.fieldofschemes.com/
  2. The inevitable new stadium shakedown. Sox have at least a couple more years where they should be competitive enough to not giving out free Pepsi can tickets. They have been more stealth about the freebies in recent years, selling large blocks of $3-$5 tickets during the "tanking" years, or more accurately the "intentional/blatant" tanking years.
  3. Yes, hopefully with majority ownership / control, and not just a ploy by the Reinsdorfs to shake down Chicago taxpayers for hundreds of millions more.
  4. Or you can actually use a title with the accurate situation.
  5. Well thank goodness you are here to post garbage and attack posters. This thread title is as garbage as the "Assholes" Playoff Game thread titles.
  6. The difference being Owner Lockout is the current situation. There would be no “work stoppage” without an owner lockout. Thousands of collectively bargained agreements expire, and both sides continue under the status quo until a final agreement is reached. The Chicago Police Department’s contract with the city expired years ago, yet there is no “work stoppage”. The site can choose to be accurate, or it can promote owner propaganda, as though a “work stoppage” just naturally occurred and there is nothing anyone can do about it.
  7. Can the thread title be corrected. This is not a "work stoppage" it's an Owner Lockout.
  8. Hope Hahn signs Ichiro to start in Right Field on a three year deal.
  9. Step right up into MLB's sportsbooks, bet on our games from your seat, Really, it's all on the up and up.
  10. Based on this chart, Manfred & Co. used two separate balls, one within stated performance standards, the other not within stated performance standards, throughout the entire season. What balls did MLB choose for the Astros vs. White Sox series, and why?
  11. All I know is I rather have three Leurys than one Kimbrel.
  12. Well, most people don't spend a decade plus preparing for a career, and only have a few years to earn salary, as opposed to the decades of income most people can earn after going to college. And the owners are the ones locking players out, they can continue to play under the expired contract but the owners choose not to. The owners are the ones saying fuck you to the players, fans, and the industry. And they produce absolutely nothing, they are merely parasites on the asses of mankind. Stop killing puppies.
  13. Rense and repeat for a decade. "The goal remains to first be in position to win multiple championships." October 29, 2012
  14. Glad I never heard of that till now, would have been a very sad day. Still Jonesing after my hot dog days of long ago (Wally's, Nickie's and Bowser Dog). Superdawg and Costco the two primary places left that serve much better hot dogs than the ubiquitous Vienna.
  15. This, but I hope he provides under 2 WAR, due to the face that he is playing 80-100 games, and is not among the team leaders in games played like he was last year due to lack of injuries and lack of other depth. Thats also why they should keep Sheets Vaughn and others, retain quality depth who will contribute now and even more next year when opportunities arise. As long as he provides good defense, hits over .700 OPS, that is what matters.
  16. I still don’t expect him going, at least until July. He is a few of Hahn’s favorite things.
  17. Eugene Freedman is a solid follow for those looking to follow the negotiations and players perspective. Ha Ha =- Eugene calls out Chicago Media Hack Jesse Rogers, employed by the White Sox Flagship.
  18. Only if it's from White Fence Farm.
  19. Well, it takes one to know one.
  20. Who is going to play 2B when Madrigal inevitably goes down for another half season as is his MO? Sox already have to have a fill in for the inevitable Eloy injury, though hopefully not in March this year.
