Yes, there are some posts so ridiculous they are beyond the need to respond. Anyone here can look up the tax rates for Capital Gains (Unrealized taxed at 0%) or Long Term Capital Gains vs. Federal, State and Local Wage rates. Most also can understand the difference between home owners of a non income producing asset which they pay property taxes on each and every six months vs. a business which not only has their capital expenses paid for by the rabble, but also the fact the billionaire's business pays no property taxes on said capital. You can't have a rational discussion with someone lacking in the basic economic realities of taxation rates, rates on capital vs. labor, fairness, etc.. Mega dittos, silly Rabbit.

2022 Offseason Plan Thread
South Side Hit Men replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Too Legit to Quit. Now that he faced the tough grind of his first MLB season, took two months to get acclimated before turning in an elite performance as a 23 year old, before succumbing to the grind and some late season injuries. Outside of Robert and perhaps Kopech, Vaughn is the guy I want the Sox to keep the most among their core. -
One side has been serious trying to negotiate a new CBA. Worth clicking to read his five tweets. The 30% revenue gain, 2-5% player salary gain is what Jerry referred to during the playoffs as "a very fair offer", while simultaneously claiming the players "don't want to get serious until the end." Also, the owners are refusing to discuss any changes to the game with the union, beyond their desire to cheapen the sport and expand playoffs. Jayson Stark's article lays out the issue at hand, and Eugene lays out the legalistic points in his series of tweets.

Joe West has always hated the players, especially White Sox players. Not to mention the fact that players are taxed between 40-60% depending on where they play, whereas the billionaires pay little, and in some cases a net negative tax rate when you factor in the differed capital gains rates (0% on appreciation) and welfare subsidies in the form of taxpayer funded stadiums. Even the lowest valued teams have grown by nearly a billion, the top teams by billions (average growth $1.5 billion of tax free growth), despite "suffering biblical losses".

Unprecedented financial flexibility…

That would be false, be it for Olympics, MLB, or any other boondoggle. Catch Field of Schemes for hundreds of examples. https://www.fieldofschemes.com/ -
Unprecedented financial flexibility…

The inevitable new stadium shakedown. Sox have at least a couple more years where they should be competitive enough to not giving out free Pepsi can tickets. They have been more stealth about the freebies in recent years, selling large blocks of $3-$5 tickets during the "tanking" years, or more accurately the "intentional/blatant" tanking years. -

Yes, hopefully with majority ownership / control, and not just a ploy by the Reinsdorfs to shake down Chicago taxpayers for hundreds of millions more. -

Or you can actually use a title with the accurate situation.

Well thank goodness you are here to post garbage and attack posters. This thread title is as garbage as the "Assholes" Playoff Game thread titles.

The difference being Owner Lockout is the current situation. There would be no “work stoppage” without an owner lockout. Thousands of collectively bargained agreements expire, and both sides continue under the status quo until a final agreement is reached. The Chicago Police Department’s contract with the city expired years ago, yet there is no “work stoppage”. The site can choose to be accurate, or it can promote owner propaganda, as though a “work stoppage” just naturally occurred and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

Can the thread title be corrected. This is not a "work stoppage" it's an Owner Lockout.

Hope Hahn signs Ichiro to start in Right Field on a three year deal.

Report: MLB used two baseballs last year
South Side Hit Men replied to Jack Parkman's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Based on this chart, Manfred & Co. used two separate balls, one within stated performance standards, the other not within stated performance standards, throughout the entire season. What balls did MLB choose for the Astros vs. White Sox series, and why? -
White Sox sign Leury Garcia to 3 year deal

All I know is I rather have three Leurys than one Kimbrel. -

Well, most people don't spend a decade plus preparing for a career, and only have a few years to earn salary, as opposed to the decades of income most people can earn after going to college. And the owners are the ones locking players out, they can continue to play under the expired contract but the owners choose not to. The owners are the ones saying fuck you to the players, fans, and the industry. And they produce absolutely nothing, they are merely parasites on the asses of mankind. Stop killing puppies.

Rense and repeat for a decade. "The goal remains to first be in position to win multiple championships." October 29, 2012 -
Glad I never heard of that till now, would have been a very sad day. Still Jonesing after my hot dog days of long ago (Wally's, Nickie's and Bowser Dog). Superdawg and Costco the two primary places left that serve much better hot dogs than the ubiquitous Vienna.

White Sox sign Leury Garcia to 3 year deal
South Side Hit Men replied to raBBit's topic in Pale Hose Talk
This, but I hope he provides under 2 WAR, due to the face that he is playing 80-100 games, and is not among the team leaders in games played like he was last year due to lack of injuries and lack of other depth. Thats also why they should keep Sheets Vaughn and others, retain quality depth who will contribute now and even more next year when opportunities arise. As long as he provides good defense, hits over .700 OPS, that is what matters. -

I still don’t expect him going, at least until July. He is a few of Hahn’s favorite things.
