  1. Gentlemen, MLB.com just posted an article “ 9 teams that need to go all out at trade deadline” and the Sox is one of them. According to them, Sox team is constructed to win now. Need lefty help at 2 nd and the outfield. Ian Happ is ideal as he can play both 2nd and OF. Joey Gallo should be plan B. May need to part with any of the few top prospects Colson Montgomery, Oscar Colas and/or Jose Rodriguez. They also think that Sox may go the rental route so we don’t decimate the farm system. As you can see, I was not the only calling for the Sox to upgrade thru buying now.
  2. Things are looking up for the Sox after last two wins against the A’s. Eloy starting to hit, along with TA, Abreu, Pollock, Sevy looking good. Robert hopefully back soon. Grandal and Vaughn not so good. Infield defense better. Cease untouchable, Kopech and Cueto very good. Hendriks and most of the bullpen back on a groove. So if we make the playoffs, we have good enough pitching to be competitive in a short series. We are now only 2 GBs behind, with an easier schedule than Cleveland and the Twins. So the division is for the taking. So, I say WE SHOULD BE BUYERS. Need to get a good lefty outfielder at the least to help us get over the hump. Big Energy is playing better so Idont know if we need another 2nd base now, We could use additional power in the lineup. I think the only reliever need will be a lefty. Rather invest in everyday position players, preferably lefties with power and good defense. Let’s pull the trigger. Aren’t we a major market team? Let’s act as one.
  3. Let’s not hit him second again for the time being.
  4. At least we hit some home runs. Left some runs on the table. Sevy looked a lot better than Grandal. No moreGrandal hitting 5 th please.
  5. Excellent analysis.
  6. Big Energy is a wily veteran.
  7. The As manager is just as bad as our own ex A’s manager TLR.
  8. Vaughn took the wrong route initially and was too slow running back. A decent left fielder catches that ball.
  9. A’s have four lefty relievers in the roster,so we should do better than what we have done so far.
  10. Maybe not, we may need Eloys bat if we go to extras.
  11. Then why is he hitting 5th or in the lineup at all?
  12. You bet. I still can’t believe TLR didn’t intentionally walk the lefty Brown. We are always swimming against the current with TLR at the helm.
  13. I think TLR had a .199 career MLB batting average, just below Mendoza line.
  14. I am happy to eat crow with Sheets homer. Happy to do so. Let’s win the game now.
  15. Sorry my bad. Still Grandal should not be hitting 5 th for the foseeable future.
  16. This was another example why Eloy had to be hitting 5th ahead of Grandal which has no power. The Eloy drive would have scored one run as sacrifice fly.
  17. I predicted this earlier in the thread, that hitting Grandal fifth was a mistake. Reminded me of that time that Leury was penciled in to lead off or to hit third. Big dumb unforced errors.
  18. Add to that poor situational hitting and lack of clutch hitting in game situations.
  19. TLR is not the only dumb manager around.
  20. Boo the team as well as Tony tonight. This is unacceptable. We need more contact, patient hitters. We didn’t even consider Benintendi who is one of the best contact hitters in the majors and good lefty defensive outfielder. What are we doing toimprove the team?
  21. They see it, but we have incompetent coaching with no adjustments.
  22. Because our left handed hitters suck. TLR is obsessed with match ups. We need to play our best hitters regardless of matchups.
  23. Regardless, Grandal should not be hitting 5 th. He has not been productive lately. Take my chances with Eloy instead at 5th.
  24. Are the Sox having fireworks this weekend?
  25. GRF is not the park for Groundball City. This is home run city. Poor roster construction with incompetent hitting coach and manager.
