I guess we hope lineup updates will fix us. To an extent. But will need to plug the bullpen leak. Well need both to feel good. Expecting a starting pitcher run like 2005 in the playoffs is unrealistic. The team is sort of still raw and unfinished? So I won’t be too disappointed if we get run in the ALCS. -

Ain’t scurred. Updates unnecessary. -
Rodriguez, no. Ramos, no. Burger, no. Kanny kids, no. Kopech, no. Crochet, no. Cespedes, no. Sanchez, no. Kath, no. Montgomery, no. Sheets is only possible because he’s only a first baseman. Even then I shudder

Were you really lol? all about it being for a rental. Keep up.
-
Its going so well Eloy and Robert can only screw it up lol.

We not paying the Cubs tax.

Lucroy saw the writing on the wall probably. Probably wanted an opportunity to latch on to another team while he could. But yeah, the numbers seem tough depending on how quick Grandal recovers. I would rather have him behind the plate under the microscope pressure the team is under than a rookie. Especially if he was needed in the post season.

Any of that besides Burger. Premium position upside prospect is worth more than for a 2 month rental. Thinking perhaps some of those names combined with one of our relievers previously mentioned should be the most we should do. We are good enough to hang tough . Id go Reylo, a reliever, Adolfo, Lambert. If Sheets gets involved then you might keep Lambert. But then, the the deql becomes more worthwhile.

Throughout the years they have been. Truth is the often trade their high prospects, but they know more are coming. Not sure the White Sox are in that boat, like at all. The way not to build to that is to dump from a limited supply for rentals
-
I call it fear. I know we will keep coming back if we keep our best talent. We are already here. And we are already good. Stay good.
-
Exactly. We've got to drive a hard bargain if we are a top organization.
-
Exactly. That’s strength, not desperation to make a bad deal for a rental. Thats how not to be the Yankees. Leave the kids alone. Even the ones not here yet. Be steong in the long run. There is never a good time to make a bad deal. A 2 month rental for just a little better chance is like being afraid we’ll never be back in the playoffs. Weakness. Build for the long run. Im not saying dont make a deal. Just dont make a bad one with the best young talent we have. Trade Marshall and Foster all we want.
-
The Quintana Eaton trades are the whole idea. Not to be on the opposite end of those deals. People are lining up to trade potential all star talent, or above average good young players for a 2 (hopefully 3, hopefully) month rental. That’s just weakness rather than strength. The Sox aren’t yet the Yankees with an endless pipeline. Lets try to get there rather than not.
-
I remember some guy named Sosa. Marcus Semien is good enough that well just say it was epic horrors. Sosa and Tatis put the White Sox in the all time highlight reel of bad prospect trades by themselves
-
If they want to trade Evan Marshall for a rental like Escobar, all for it. Bear in mind this team doesn’t just get burned in prospect trades, it habitually gives up hall of famers.
-
there is a “need” for a second baseman, but this team is so good that need is overrated. No need to trade a real prospect that has big upside. If we don’t do a deal, Eobert and Eloy are good enough upgrades to cover. Tired of seeing good ex Sox minor leaguers becoming all stars elsewhere. We aren’t good at this prospect trade stuff, and need to stop acting so desperate to sell out for 2021. Team has many years of contention. Stay strong and stay stocked long term. Our team is on the field as far as Im concerned.

we have enough talent moving through the organization when you look around the league at Sox castoffs like Marcus Semien and FTJ which is rather an elite potential combination, there for the taking. The misuse of resources has been the key keeping this franchise down where it has been. Just have to avoid the impatience, and build by maintaining what we got going for us. I hate trade deadline man. We should probably unplug the phones if anything.
