5/31 gamethread 1:10 CDT Sox go for sweep of kitties
This Montero is having his best outing of the year. A RHP against this batting order, Sox shouldn't be letting this happen.

And that's a rousing 7-1 WHITE SOX WINNER
Hitting this brutal June schedule without Murakami is going to be one heck of a challenge! I'll be happy with just a couple games under .500 for the month.

5/30 1:10CDT Kitties at Sox round 2
Yep, Detroit sucks! And there's nothing the Tigers can do about that.

5/30 1:10CDT Kitties at Sox round 2
Yeah, but we know Acuna can't hit lhp at all. Gonzo line vs lhp; .286 .490 .865, be it AAA, still good numbers.

Jacob Gonzalez called up, per Passan
Maybe. I know he's cheap but charters are pretty standard and seriously doubt it would cost 40k. Anyway, It would prob on a contract; so many flights per year kind of thing.

Not one to question Will but Acuna > Gonzalez? Hmmm Acuna .114 ba vs lhp. C'mon man! Maybe too quick for Gonzo, maybe if it was a night game.

Jacob Gonzalez called up, per Passan
No matter how they shuffle the infield, its a lefty bat that will fill the void. It'll be Gonzalez. Besides, it's his birthday.

Jacob Gonzalez called up, per Passan
I'm sure the Sox have a charter service and if he is indeed called up, he's probably already in Chicago.

Mune Injury Watch
Nah, Melton is a really good young arm. He just did what he's been doing. When I saw Melton vs Fedde this morning (before Esiert inserted), I didn't expect a win. We stole this one as good teams tend to do.

Jacob Gonzalez called up, per Passan
If Gonzo makes it for the game, I would play him at SS, his natural position for his 1st game, with Monty at 3rd, & Vargas at 1st. Can move him to 1st (or not) Sunday once he settles in.

Teel suffers LCL sprain (Pg. 5), out 3-6 weeks
On White Sox postgame, they reported that Will said the knee will definitely set Kyle back. He (& staff) wants Kyle to catch all 9 innings at least twice before bringing him up. Good time for Edgar to get hot.

Genuine progress
Yes, exceptional for those 2 rookies to play this well this early, especially Teel.

Wow! So much hatred for a team that has played some decent ball for a nice stretch.

You must be joking right? Your attention span is limited so I'll repeat .500 since the all star break before this losing streak. Geesh!
-
Genuine progress
This losing streak & batting slump is unfortunate but had made to .500 prior to it. If that doesn't mean anything to you or you can't see the improvement or envision a fairly competitive batting order for next year, led by a pretty impressive manager & staff; you & I are clearing seeing two different teams.

Crochet was getting traded, bad teams trade talent for prospects, baseball 101, get over it! His performance is a non-factor in this discussion. It's what Getz got in return that's important. The 2 positional players are both very solid to exceptional & Gonzalez thru 19 innings has been a very good bullpen piece. Braden has a very real chance of playing next year. How can you not say Chase is a possible "guy" as much as Teel? His BB acumen is 10 years older than he is. He & Teel exact same mold. Baseball trades are so iffy and Getz got back some outstanding potential. Compare it the Sale trade!

What's our record since the all star break? You're right, the Crochet trade was a bust, what was I thinking!
-
Genuine progress
No S***! How is it since the all star break? How is the Crochet trade working out?
-
Genuine progress
Yeah boy was I ever wrong about the Getz hiring as I fiercely criticized it! This turnaround has been so fast and nearly all under his guidance. His decisions and hirings have all been outstanding! Geesh, that Crochet trade alone! Wow! Kudos Monsieur Getz!

Dear Sox fans
"Chris is rebuilding the foundation of our baseball operations department, with key personnel changes already happening in player development" Yeah, JR/Chris, who was that bum in charge of player development? What happened to him?

Chasing Records — 121 losses, modern MLB record
Agreed! I've been a Sox fan longer than most alive and have never experienced this kind of disgusting & diabolical operation of a sports entity. I'm not even aware that its ever existed to this magnitude. The only similar experience was the Arthur & Bill Wirtz Blackhawks. This is much, much worse as is Reinsdorf though they were all chiseled from the same heartless mold. Their only true love is greedy & miserly wealth.

Chasing Records — 121 losses, modern MLB record
The hope for a White Sox comeback begins 5 years after JR has passed and Getz is fired. Until both things happen, the Sox will NEVER see .500. And even that's no guarantee. Go Bears! Go Hawks!

The streak has reached 21. Raise a glass.
There's a Spider in my Sox!

Fire Pedro Grifol
I know. I was really thinking hard about laying down a lot more but I just couldn't do it. I knew they'd trade Cease and be sellers at deadline to ensure a really bad 2nd half. Oh well.

Fire Pedro Grifol
Remember when Grifool said they'd trade offense for solid defense? How about 5th worse fielding% in all of MLB? Better than 4th worse, I guess. Laid $1100 in Feb on under 63.5 wins. Easiest & safest grand I ever made.
