  1. Sorry for jumping ahead but this roster is in a really good place already for 2027 and for years beyond. If there's no stoppage and Roch is ready for the show, just how does the roster look? If Acuna keeps ascending, it's going to be really hard to not keep him around, esp with his PR ability. I imagine they let Grichuk & Hays go but also have Pereira, Baldwin, & Perez waiting in the OF/DH wings. Time will tell, but what a sweet problem to have. So friggin exciting to be a Sox fan so soon after such an embarrassing horror show! I can't even begin to apologize to Getz for my very bad take on his hiring! I haven't been this wrong about a sports decision ever!
  2. Seems odd that Pitt wanted Gonzo. They already have 1 1/2 very good lefty 1B-men; Horwitz isn't a FA until 2031 and 1B/OF O'Hearn is signed through '27. It would make sense if Horwitz was a righty bat. And SS Griffin is signed through 2032. Where's he going to play? Maybe trade-bait?
  3. Woods was having a good year at AA Altoona. He's been pounded at AAA Indy but its only been 11 innings.
  4. Manfred is such a dufus! "Cha-lou-skee". After months (& years), how can you mispronounce his name? And his inability to perform his opening lines without a hard reading is really impressive! He couldn't take his eyes off the teleprompter. Just an out of touch idiot! Please Rob us of your presence!
  5. Oh geez! We got swept by a pretty hot BoSox and you're ready to sell sell sell! When I saw who The BoSox were throwing at us in the1st 2 games, I knew we were in trouble. Can we at least get Muni back before panicking?
  6. The White Sox catcher room was expected to be a major offensive weapon. Instead, it's one of the worst in baseball. It's cost us quite a few wins despite the Quero walk-off vs Cubs. So frustrating and confounding!
  7. It's probably been said before but with all the Sox's outstanding left-handed bats, I would prefer Cholowsky over Emerson.
  8. Too bad Orioles couldn't wait just 1 more game to bring Kremer back.
  9. Is there something wrong with Sam? Very odd lineup vs RHP. Rest Sam vs LHP. However, he did come out late last night as well.
  10. Just can't lose this game. They play so good then clunkers like this. KC's pitching lineup was so weak today and the Sox went so cold after the 2nd. Colston in a terrible slump, we needed him today. He's .184 for June & .147, no homers, & 1 2B since NY, all vs Central foes. Most of the few hits he's gotten lately have been jam shots & end of bat bloops and his error today was the difference. Back issues? If so, maybe he needs to sit for a few games.
  11. This Montero is having his best outing of the year. A RHP against this batting order, Sox shouldn't be letting this happen.
  12. Hitting this brutal June schedule without Murakami is going to be one heck of a challenge! I'll be happy with just a couple games under .500 for the month.
  13. Yep, Detroit sucks! And there's nothing the Tigers can do about that.
  14. Yeah, but we know Acuna can't hit lhp at all. Gonzo line vs lhp; .286 .490 .865, be it AAA, still good numbers.
  15. Maybe. I know he's cheap but charters are pretty standard and seriously doubt it would cost 40k. Anyway, It would prob on a contract; so many flights per year kind of thing.
  16. Not one to question Will but Acuna > Gonzalez? Hmmm Acuna .114 ba vs lhp. C'mon man! Maybe too quick for Gonzo, maybe if it was a night game.
  17. No matter how they shuffle the infield, its a lefty bat that will fill the void. It'll be Gonzalez. Besides, it's his birthday.
  18. I'm sure the Sox have a charter service and if he is indeed called up, he's probably already in Chicago.
  19. Nah, Melton is a really good young arm. He just did what he's been doing. When I saw Melton vs Fedde this morning (before Esiert inserted), I didn't expect a win. We stole this one as good teams tend to do.
  20. If Gonzo makes it for the game, I would play him at SS, his natural position for his 1st game, with Monty at 3rd, & Vargas at 1st. Can move him to 1st (or not) Sunday once he settles in.
  21. On White Sox postgame, they reported that Will said the knee will definitely set Kyle back. He (& staff) wants Kyle to catch all 9 innings at least twice before bringing him up. Good time for Edgar to get hot.
  22. Yes, exceptional for those 2 rookies to play this well this early, especially Teel.
  23. Wow! So much hatred for a team that has played some decent ball for a nice stretch.
  24. You must be joking right? Your attention span is limited so I'll repeat .500 since the all star break before this losing streak. Geesh!
  25. This losing streak & batting slump is unfortunate but had made to .500 prior to it. If that doesn't mean anything to you or you can't see the improvement or envision a fairly competitive batting order for next year, led by a pretty impressive manager & staff; you & I are clearing seeing two different teams.
