Castillo to Sox for Dominguez, Boston Smith, Nolan Jones per Passan
And yet he's made it work all season.

Castillo to Sox for Dominguez, Boston Smith, Nolan Jones per Passan
It's my understanding that when there's a new agreement, the White Sox will be significantly under the salary cap floor. Along with many current players getting raises, Castillo $ might be needed as well at least in the short term. Just sayin...

FWIW; I edited out "all wins", they were not, just 1 vs Cle.

Castillo to Sox for Dominguez, Boston Smith, Nolan Jones per Passan
3 of Castillo's best outings were vs Det, Cle, & Cinci, all on the upcoming Sox schedule.

Not replacing Schweitzer with a rookie this late in the season. And there would be 1 too many pitchers.

Castillo to Sox for Dominguez, Boston Smith, Nolan Jones per Passan
Agreed. Besides, that would leave Sox with 1 too many pitchers, someone else would have to go down.

Still have the same # of pitchers, would have to send someone down for that.

Who takes Seranthony's spot in the pen? Fedde to opener role and long reliever? Schultz earned another start today? Could give extra day rest across the rotation for the rest of the season.

Castillo good June bad July, four starts each. Glass half full - maybe due for good Aug.

Fedde Appreciation Thread
The dude's attitude has been incredible, no ego, just whatever is best for the team. So, on top of that, he gives it all and pitches his ass off!

Is It Time to Move Colson Down
A troubling stat is that Colson has never hit over.250 in any season above A ball going on 6 years! Will so much SS talent in the system, his Sox (&MLB) future could be short-lived if he can't figure out how to hit in professional baseball. His swing has become so reckless and he is completely lost at the plate.
-
And that's a walk of walk White Sox winner!
For the year, Colson batting .188 w/RISP & .167 overall from the 6th inning on. Hasn't been very good since in NY, 33 games ago! Bene hitting .393 w/RISP, where would Sox be without him?

7:25 Sox vs Astros 6:10
Colston needs to go back to Phoenix. He's so lost pretty much since NY.

To Texas; "you're what hurts?"

Time for Munemania!

7/20/2026 - Sox @ Rangers, 7:05 CDT - Fedde v. DeGrom
DeGrom can get roughed up and given his season history he's just about due. But with 13 days off he's probably going to be pretty sharp.

7/19/2026 - Sox @ Jays 11:15 CDT - Burke v. Yesavage
Thank your streaming TV for putting me back in touch with White Sox radio broadcasts. Kind of fun!

Although, Detmers would be a very nice pickup for a modest price.

Oh, I forgot about Japan and didn't realize it was that many IP. Thanks! Still, he does struggle to go 6 innings; just 3 times this year while still getting his pitch counts relatively high.

Definitely need a quality starting pitcher

Trade Ideas/Rumors/Proposals Thread
Kay now has 93 IP, 60 IP more than his previous high in 2021. How many more innings does he have in him? Between he and Fedde's limited efficiency, so many pitches on their arms. Sox desperately need to acquire another starter if they want to ride this train into the playoffs. Both dudes have been tough as nails pros but how much will they have left come Sept?

Nobody knows now what an agreement before and/or after a shutdown would look like.

From a Sox perspective, Freddy Peralta would be the perfect pickup but such a huge market for him. He's got an unusually high era for him at 4.66 but is under contract for just 1 year at $8m. Sox wouldn't have to hold or pay him in a possible shutdown in 2027. 4.66 isn't all that bad and could improve with a change of scenery and a better pitching coach & manager and Sox clubhouse. Not sure if the Mets want to do business with Getz anymore though. lol But, can Fedde hold up as a starter the rest of the year? He seems like a perfect long reliever. Love his style and attitude but his arm might not be good enough down the stretch.

Tristan Peters, Mune are All-Stars
Did I miss something or did Fox not announce that Peters (until his routine catch) or Muni came into the game defensively before their respective at bats? Ofc, they drooled all over PCA when he entered the game defensively, they wouldn't let us miss that.
