The Problem with the 2010 White Sox
I'll bite on the failed joke. Stone is great.

Joe Cowley says our season is over: do you agree?
It's been a boring season and yes, frustrating to watch the pitchers get rocked. The team either doesn't know how to win or is incapable of winning more than the occasional series. Not one hitter besides Rios and Konerko have done anything exciting. Sox should have stood pat offensively. No way the Dye, Thome plodders and Pods could have done any worse than this. Team gets a grade of D and overall mood exhibited by team: boring. Boring offseason moves. Boring everything.

6/2/10 Sox vs Rangers 7:10, CSN+
Wonder if Floyd will get booed if he gets rocked. He hasn't exactly been too good this season.

Your argument makes sense. But I disagree Omar failed because he had no shot. He hit the ball. Whenever you hit the ball, it conceivably can find open space and drop safely for a hit. There are no absolutes. If there were, many more people would make a successful living gambling for a living.

I would like to say yes and would love to say yes and might say yes but I tell you, my god, Feliz is how old? How long has he been in the league? The story on his stats/tendenies has yet to be written. So I can't give you a 100 percent yes because Omar may have had as good a chance of dribbling his third hit as Nix/Jones of getting a base hit. I do appreciate all the stats, though. It's always good to see somebody willing to look up the figures.

Yeah, just ignore a differing opinion. We should all always agree. You will NEVER find me belittling somebody or acting like a prick. it's civil discussion.

It's unbelievable YOU DONT GET THIS. Omar had a couple of hits. Yes there is a chance he might smack one of the immortal Feliz's pitches up the middle for a base hit. You act like the 21 year old Feliz has a career set of stats to go by. You got your numbers. I got my generalities. Omar could have got a hit; Lexi could have got a hit. They didn't. This team uh, sucks.

My guess is we won't get squat for AJ cause the deadline is coming and teams know it. So we get s*** for AJP who can't throw well. Hopefully we can get more for the other guys. I'd keep Thornton on the must keep list as well.

I appreciate that post and you looking that up. I do. That said, how do explain young Lexi's righthanded at bat? I can explain it. Our team SUCKS.

I know you have no problem with Lexi's at bat. What I'm saying is why not? Cause it's easier to look at the Omar situation and say Oz should have pinch hit for him. I know why you wanted Omar to start, for defense with Mark pitching. Since he did start and get two hits and a walk, I have no problem with him making the final out after Lexi also looked wretched in making the second out. You guys don't even admit the possibility the great Nix and/or Jones would have popped up, struck out, which is what I say they would have done.

Mark Teahen to the DL, Lillibridge Recalled
I'm part of some message boards where baiting isn't allowed. I won't bite on it again. Ooh I can take the mockery. Yes, Greg likes the players on the 2005 team. You are sooo mean for pointing that out. I said all along I didn't like Teahen. I've uh watched him play for KC for years. Fans here were so glad to see him go and that's saying a lot for the terrible KC organization. He's just a utility player. For the record, I do like the players on the 05 team. Yup I like them a lot.

GT: Rangers @ White Sox 6/1, 7:10PM, CSN
So for the record, you wanted Nix? Who is who I wanted to start the game to begin with. Whatever ... we had chances to win and squandered them. It was a horrible baseball game from a Sox standpoint. If you think Omar had no chance to dribble a single, fine. Lexi could have slammed a single and didn't. Omar flied out. Nix probably would have popped up on the first pitch or whiffed. Your argument stands as the winning one because the game is over and a lousy Sox team lost again. In any loss you can second guess and you will win. That's the nature of a loss.

If that makes you feel better, go ahead and axe the manager. We might even play well for a week after that like teams normally do when the manager is axed. His point was well taken. The players deserve the responsibility for sucking. Cowley had some interesting ideas, but he's putting too much money in Lee. It's not working with Jake and could just as easily fail with the immortal Lee. At least Cowley had a plan. KW better have a plan. Simply trading away AJ, Paulie, Mark, Jenks, etc., won't guarantee squat for next year or the following year or the following year. The time to trade them all will be the time of year teams traditionally make deals, when contenders become buyers. If you are going to trade Mark, Paulie, etc., do it near the all star break or shortly after and you better have a semblance of a master plan or we are looking at .400 ball for years to come.

What's Lexi's excuse and excuses for all the other players who f***ed up in at bats you could point to tonight? Yeah it all boils down to one decision. No wait ... Oz also screwed up pitching Randy and Liney. Those runs were important. Those guys should never ever be in the game. And he left mark in too long. It takes talent, folks. This team has just enough talent to lose most series it plays in. If it makes you feel better to make Oz the scapegoat, go for it. -- and Lexi really hit that high velocity fastball or whatever Feliz threw him. He failed.
-
GT: Rangers @ White Sox 6/1, 7:10PM, CSN
And why are you second guessers ignoring the Lexi at bat?? Don't just skip over that one and go to Omar. Why is Lexi being skipped over here? Because it's easy to point to .... oooh Ozzie didn't pinch hit for Omar.
-
GT: Rangers @ White Sox 6/1, 7:10PM, CSN
Yeah Nix woulda got a hit. Keep believin that. Jones woulda hit a home run. I didn't even want Omar playing and I'm defending him; you guys wanted him in the game to begin with over Nix. Classic second guessing.
-
GT: Rangers @ White Sox 6/1, 7:10PM, CSN
OK, next time be more specific. You want Omar in there, and you want him to stay in if he can get two hits and a walk, but in the final at bat you want him replaced for Jones or Nix, even though the odds of him stroking a single are about as good as Jones stroking a big hit. Give me a break, second guessers. This team sucks. Lexi coulda slashed a hit in the gap or got a single up the middle. Omar could have stroked a hit. Our hitters suck; our team sucks.
-
GT: Rangers @ White Sox 6/1, 7:10PM, CSN
Some people on this board were clamoring Omar play tonight with Mark pitching. Uh fathom weren't you one of them? No, it's easy to criticize when you want everything. Omar got 2 hits and a walk. He f***ed up there just like Lexi did. Jones would have popped up as well. I personall was on the record as wanting Nix to play and many laughed at me. Everybody's got an opinion but only one is the truth. This team sucks.
-
GT: Rangers @ White Sox 6/1, 7:10PM, CSN
Omar was 2-for-3 with a walk. I'm sure Jones would have drilled a hit. Yeah right. Omar coulda got a single; Lexi coulda got a single. This team sucks. We lose.
-
GT: Rangers @ White Sox 6/1, 7:10PM, CSN
Omar is 2-for-3 with a walk, but no hit is comin here.
-
GT: Rangers @ White Sox 6/1, 7:10PM, CSN
I didn't hear it. But if he was asked, I'm sure he answered it. Nice at bat, Lexi.

Ozzie has done fine, Bolt. Have you ever heard the man's postgame pressers? He explains every move and they all make sense. The team SUCKS. The manager is fine.

Agreed. Not many people agree with us, Jenksy.
