  1. Texas is good. We'll see right off the bat if we can win a home series against a good team. Then lousy Cleveland again? We're going to find out quickly if the Sox indeed are playing better or if that is a myth.
  2. I'd be up for Nix playing a lot more than Teahen.
  3. You and Balta are right, but no way this Sox team could be expected to win more than two in Tampa. No f***ing way. Now lets make some noise in series we are capable of making noise in and maybe we'll talk about Tampa and NY and Minnie series later. Two of four at TB was monumental.
  4. Several posts today have put a smile on my face. That is one. Keep nonconforming. I wanna hear true opinions and you have good solid ones. Conformity sux.
  5. I think Garland is 7-2 with a 2.10 ERA and 1.33 whip Ha. Yeah I know, he pitches in the NL. So what. He's still pitching well. Congrats Jon.
  6. I just don't see why anybody with a brain would want Beckham sent down. He proved last year he can hit on this level. He's the same guy. Let him play. Bat him ninth. Let him play.
  7. First to Caufield: What is logical? Giving Peavy all that money? My point is you never know. Anyhow, this is Gonzalez's Trib story. If we trade Pauley, who takes over at first? Kotsay or Viciedo? Or ? If you think putting Teahen or Kotsay there will help us win ... well obviously you all don't think that. Nobody can be dumb enough to think that.
  8. As long as he doesn't mope around as Ozzie warned him not to do, he should remain in the big leagues. If the Sox send him down and he hits .350 and comes back up, the fabled "pressure" will be back on him. If he goes 1 for 10 he'll be on the dreaded Alex Gordon death spiral.
  9. What does that mean? I'll take talent over attitude anyday. His attitude isn't exactly rotten, either. Who is going to replace him next year? Allen? Oh wait, we traded him. Viciedo (sp?)? Oh wait, he has a bad attitude and isn't any good either. I get the feeling some of you would still want Konerko gone even if he somehow whacked 40 homers this year. Keep devaluing your own, some of you Sox fans.
  10. You need a holiday beer to spread some cheer. A split with the Rays was fine. You can't expect to go in there and win the series. They have a much better team than ours and were playing at home. A split was GREAT. The problem is we have to win series after series against the teams in our division mostly and not play like crap against KC and Cleveland. This series was fine. Most of our series have sucked.
  11. That statement made me smile. It's like saying if not for the fact AJ's arm is terrible now and he is hitting just over .200 that he's been pretty solid. Not hating on Pierre. He had a pretty good May by all accounts. I hate him a lot less than I did in April.
  12. Yes I'm watching this game. Peavy is a piece of s*** this season, but no manager in baseball would not have let him start that inning. Then he whiffed the first guy before he returned to s***tiness gave up two singles and properly was taken out. You are insane if you think my argument is not as good as you guys on this issue. Stoney in the inning after the first hit said, "Ozzie should watch him closely now."
  13. If you guys think Peavy should not have come out for that inning considering who he is and how highly paid he is and what his pitch count was ... we'll have to agree to disagree.
  14. Cmon. His pitch count was fine. A good pitcher would have smoked through the sixth with that new cushion.
  15. He should be one. He's paid like one. The pitch count was still OK. They'd just been given a four-run lead. He's jake peavy. He stays in until exactly the point Ozzie yanked his mediocre, highly-paid ass.
  16. Ozzie made the right call. You don't pull an ace who was just given a four run lead. No matter how horses*** the highly paid ace is.
  17. Ozzie played that perfectly. Peavy deserved to come out for that inning and his s***tiness at this point and number of pitches means it is the time to take him out. Me thinks you guys are nutso if you think he should have been pulled before this moment when he pulled him at the right time.
  18. He'll throw whatever his max amount of pitches are then be yanked. He's aboug 105 right now.
  19. If he hasn't thrown a s***load of pitches he should go back out there. He's Jake Peavy.
  20. Omar? How bout Teahen. Nix over Teahen. Teahen is no good.
  21. How loud was the United Center? Did the fans ever lose faith in this one? Was it wild throughout? Do people cuss out Hossa?
  22. It's amazing how inconsistent pitchers are in baseball. You can never count on anything. The stars have to align right. Our rotation was supposed to be awesome.
  23. I know, but in the Finals, you get home field, home ice, and lose Game One you are flirting with disaster. In the world of sports cliches, the Flyers would have been playing with the house's money trying to steal Game Two and home ice would have shifted. I realize the Hawks have been road warriors this postseason though.
