  1. He said it better than me!!! How can you argue with this? This is my position on the draft. It's a f***ing crapshoot. I could give a s*** about the f***ing draft. Thank you Dick Allen. And I still don't know what a f***ing troll is. I'm as good a Sox fan as any of you.
  2. I'll say this at least. Pena doesn't sicken me as much as Dotel. Hopefully Pena will use that fastball next year. He should copy Soria and develop a nasty pitch in the dirt to go with the fastball.
  3. The walks were bad, but weren't two in one inning and three in another? It seems like he lost it for whatever reason. He'll correct the problem in the future as he did today. Now it's in the s***ty bullpen's hands. You may get your wish on the better draft pick. Who cares about the draft? There are tons of good players available in round one, most who don't pan out.
  4. Very nice play by Gordon. Somewhat routine but not bad.
  5. Dye can still hit; he's just had a horrible second half. I think he used to be a pretty average to decent right fielder but this year he's definitely regressed out there. He'll help the Rangers next year at DH.
  6. Good inning, but Lexi was due and couldn't get us another run. With our bullpen, it's good to score as many as you can from the sixth inning on.
  7. I'm surprised he didn't throw Dye a curve in the dirt. He's been waving at those. He can still rifle a fastball up the middle.
  8. Producers should immediately tell announcers like Huff to not say "I'll tell ya what" before leading into their comments. It's annoying.
  9. Nice pair of hits. We finally score off a starter in the sixth/seventh as they often do on us.
  10. I think so. Oz said last night his bullpen is thin. I'd like to see Hudson start the inning and get a quick hook if one gets on base. Wouldn't you agree?
  11. Hudson gets a B plus for his six innings. If I was Oz, I'd let him start the second but have the relievers ready in case he walks the leadoff hitter or gives up ONE hit. That's unless he has some wildly high pitch count. I don't see how he can put in Pena/Liney. Those guys will make all the fans puke, except the Tiger fans.
  12. This game is familiar to yesterday. Our starter will get hit in sixth, seventh and no offense. Trouble is brewing. How can you pitch such a fine game and walk the bases loaded suddenly? Youth.
  13. Our hitting has sucked of course. Can you imagine how much better a team we'd be next year if we could get seven innings out of our starters like in the old days? We'd only have to use our lousy set guys in the eighth and use lefty/righty matchups, then go to our closer in the ninth. Shouldn't baseball teams go to a six man rotation in an attempt to get quality starters to work seven effective innings? We'd be a helluva team if our starters could go seven full innings.
  14. I wonder if we lead the league in popups or if all teams pop it up like we do. Our offense is lame. I don't think it's on Walker, but if we need a scapegoat he would be a good choice. The hitters should take him out for dinner after the season since they've made him look so bad most of the season.
  15. This is the part of the game where our lack of offense becomes annoying and my mood worsens. Why can't we score runs at home ever??
  16. Nice play by Rios. True, Jermaine could never have caught that. He's too big a guy to get moving quick enough. But Dye can be a decent hitter next year I believe. Nice catch, Rios.
  17. I like the way Hudson works quickly. Hurrah. He's a nice prospect obviously!
  18. The problem many have with Dye is he is getting worse in rightfield. I still say he has not been a disaster out there in his career. People rarely remember the past, however, and he seems to have had a pretty bad year defensively in right. He takes a long time to get those long legs moving. I think we'll definitely miss his bat. People give others the beneifit of the doubt like for sure they will rebound because of their "track records." Like Rios. Many aren't believing in Jermaine cause he's been here so long. Sad. He'll have a good year at DH somewhere next year. I guess it won't be in Chicago. I would like to ask Dye haters a question. Why are you convinced you can't write off his performance as a "bad second half." WHy is he different from other guys who had a "bad half" and will definitely rebound??
  19. Rios got owned there. Dye is not finished yet. Maybe in Chicago, but he's not done.
  20. Nice hit. Amazing what you can do when you drive the ball where it's pitched, CQ. He has a quick bat sometimes.
  21. Freddy actually had a great start. He just got dinked all around in the 7th. It was obvious he shoulda been lifted after six. So tell us the incident since you evidently saw it and it cost us the game, cause Freddy was done. Of course the relievers probably would have blown it anyway.
  22. Where is Hawk? The color man has an annoying voice and just butted in on a great catch.
  23. Oz hasn't gone off in the clubhouse much at all this stinky season. It was about time he went crazy. AJ probably screwed up here in racing to the TV for the Florida game before eating, showering, letting Ozzie shut his door. If it's AJ, I think we've read enough that Ozzie respects AJ, so it'll blow over quickly.
  24. Badger, we've averaged 30,000 or so fans haven't we. Before the WS title we had real attendance problems some years. The fans have shown up in huge numbers again this year.
