Detroit Tigers @ Chicago White Sox

When it was 5-0 after five or six innings I'd have said you were insane if we'd be down 10-5 against a Tiger team that hadn't been hitting. What a season. Bring on next year. Hopefully Liney will be released; Pena will have a small role at best and our starters will have kickass seasons where they can regularly get us into the eighth inning. -

Oz is on the Tigers' payroll today. DeWayne isn't exactly a good hitter is he? -

I totally jinxed Freddy. I almost killed the line after I wrote it, then I thought superstition was stupid. Freddy got bombed after I praised the s*** out of him. If the game mattered in the standings I definitely woulda killed it. Live and learn for next season. -

That was pretty exciting when CQ hit his bomb. Freddy was cruising nicely as well. -

I know what you are saying. It is a pathetic squad. Hopefully next year will be different. But this team is easy to dislike/hate. Usually one aspect of the game goes to hell on a given night. We never string anything together. I think we had one winning stretch this year, didn't we. Something like eight wins in 10 games or something. Just one really good stretch or moderately good stretch. -

I respect Sox fans, but how can anybody think Pena was a good acquisition? How much money does that hack make? -

In some ways it's nice being out of the race. I'd have been so mad n depressed about blowing the 5-0 lead if this game mattered in the standings. Sounds like some fans are pissed and howling on the audio. -

He has tanked this game. Anybody could see Freddy was done after six. Pena will certainly throw some meat for Detroit to hit. -

Poor Twins; Oz is letting Fred implode. Fred pitched great but he done. Good thing this game don't matter to us or this thread would be 29 pages long and Oz would be gettin blistered. Should the commissioner investigate? Kidding, but poor Twins. -

I don't think the Twinks are liking the fact Oz is stretching Freddy tonight. He's done. -

Yeah, but now the Tigers are rallying and they are gonna get a chance against our bullpen with nine outs remaining. Will it be the good bullpen or bad bullpen? -
I think he's perfect in the role he had this year. His stuff is very hittable at times, but I don't necessarily think he deserves to be called a mop up man.

Congrats to those of you who approved of Kenny bringing back Freddy. I think at the time the move didn't thrill me. He looks like the real deal, regardless of what happens the rest of this game. Unlike Jose, the sometimes sidearm Contreras, he has a regular conventional delivery and is pretty consistent. I hate to praise him, cause that means he'll get rocked this inning. But you have to admit, Freddy has been a great pickup by Kenny Williams. -
I'll never rip KW for trading that bum. KW got what he could for him. How do you know Swish ever would have played well in a Sox uniform? If he's doing better in New York, good for him. He sucked in Chicago and apparently was a cancer as well.

How come Mike Huff's homerism annoys me, but Hawk's pleases me? Stoney is always great. -- How come Minnie beat us like a drum at home and we're playing pretty well vs. Detroit so far. Does that mean Minnie is indeed going to pass the Tigers? Man, two years in a row, it's coming down to the end for Minnie. Four games at Detroit next week? Wow. -
I agree it's fun to see a Sox player (pitcher) show some emotion. It's nice to watch.

What is a troll. I love our team as much as the next person. Uh did you hear me complain about Paulie last year? No. I don't complain unless I feel it is worth complaining about. Have I blasted Bobby? No. I simply think Dotel is an AVERAGE at best pitcher, definitely not worth the money and I'd rather go in a different direction, using young arms instead of picking up Liney's and Dotel's. I truly don't understand how some can get on Bobby and not Dotel. Dotel has done nothing to warrant excitement from Sox fans. Don't you realize just because he's not a closer he gets way less grief than Bobby? What the f*** is a troll?
-
Not me. Time to try somebody else. Like somebody said you can usually tell in the first batter if he's the good Dotel or bad Dotel. He's nothing special and I'd rather see some rookie implode than Dotel. Time for him to move on to Washington, home of former Sox relievers.

There's no way you can trust Linebrink and Pena to be solid. Hudson should be kept a starter, but could be good in the pen I guess. Carrasco should fill this year's role again, not any expanded role. He's good in the role he had this year. Thornton should be a good closer.

Peavy has our only two wins in quite a while. Can we win a game w/out a man named Peavy on the mound? He competes well out there. Hopefully next year he'll get us off to a good start and set the tone for a better season. So much to fix, however. Bats silent again tonight except for the rookie stud. -
Who would you rather see win the AL Central
greg775 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I chose the Twins because I respect the fact they always seem to have a good team and play the game "the right way." I know it's a cliche and they do benefit GREATLY from that s***hole stadium. I do feel sorry for the people of Detroit but they've had sports teams boost their spirits before with the Red Wings. GO TWINKS. -
I hope we try a new strategy with middle relief and go with a batch of young guys and see if one sticks. We should not pay big bucks for middle relievers. They are middle relievers for a reason.

Well, our last win was when Peavy pitched. So maybe we'll win a game again as early as tonight. Whoopieeeeeee! -
Kenny and Oz are good baseball men; they obviously like Walker. If they thought he was no good they would dump him. They want to succeed. I don't understand our 3B coach mistakes year after year. Hopefully he's gotten better. I don't remember as many dumb send homes of late.

Granderson (ain't gonna happen) Ichiro (why not?) realistically bullpen help (I can't think of anybody specifically) Holladay!!!
