Everyone in the world knew that Rowand hd no chance vs Lidge. You know what? I thought Aaron might bleed a hit to rf. We're losing the game if we indeed lose it because our pitchers are f***ing up late and walking people.
-
Now Duque gives up a run and you are gonna blame Oz? Cmon Duke
-
Why was it a terrible move? It isn't his fault most of our relievers haven't been pitching in a while. We've got to use the roster. It's the other guys who were walking people.
-
Fathom you amaze me sometimes. You never ever blame the talent. You wanted a pinch hitter for Aaron?
-
what managerial errors by Ozzie? The guys he brought in ? The walks killed us. It ain't his fault. You walk guys you pay for it.
-
As expected we're not getting the calls tonight.
-
What an inning! Imagine if Juan's shot was fair. This game woulda been over! GO SOX
-
like he said, welcome to the natl league fathom. It's too early to jerk your starter.
-
WE HAVE A BULLPEN FULL OF GUYS WHO HAVEN'T BEEN USED! What's the point of having Vizcaino if we're not going to play the game with urgency? who says we're not going to play this game with urgency fathom? This pitcher ain't exactly James Baldwin. He can make ya look dead.
-
we need more longballs. we ain't a small ball team
-
Now he gets 3 quick outs. Is Jon simply rusty and now he's gonna excel the rest of the way?
-
I agree it has nothing to do with his toughness. People say such stupid things. If he doesn't have good stuff, he doesn't have it.
-
We need to keep it at 4-0. A blowout is not what you want down 2 games to none. If the Stros are gonna catch us, we need them to sweat it out.
-
No offense to Jon, but he's got nothin tonight. His fastball is meat. Wonder what's up? Just one of those nights I guess.

I think Pods' is the biggest in Chicago history. After all this is the big show, the Series. His won the game; Paulie's was awesome, too. Just saw this online, thought you might be interested. Surprised Pods wouldn't want to keep using the bat, then send it to the Hall later. But no biggie I guess if he's not superstitious. I'd keep the bat a while, but that's just me: IMMORTALIZED BAT: The bat Scott Podsednik used to end Game 2 of the World Series is headed to the Hall of Fame. The White Sox left fielder’s line-drive homer to right in the bottom of the ninth lifted Chicago to a 7-6 victory on Sunday night. The Hall of Fame requested the bat and on Monday, White Sox officials were preparing to send it to Cooperstown. “I can’t put it into words. It’s really an honor, no doubt,” said Podsednik, who hadn’t homered in 507 regular-season at-bats. Podsednik’s blast was just the 14th game-ending homer in World Series history. “It’s a moment in time that can never be duplicated,” said Hall of Fame spokesman Brad Horn. “That bat will always be historic.” White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said the bat gave the franchise some much-needed recognition in baseball’s shrine. “It’s great for the White Sox organization. It’s something we need,” Guillen said. “We hardly have anything in the Hall of Fame. Hopefully, he can hit another one and then we could have two.” And in the moronic tough guy, department ... TOUGH TOWN: Astros second baseman Craig Biggio played down an altercation between his wife, Patty, and a rowdy fan at U.S. Cellular Field on Sunday night. “It was one guy who acted like a 12-year-old, who slapped her upside the head,” said Biggio. “I’m not going to sit here and hold all the Chicago fans accountable for this for one guy who was acting like an idiot.” White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said Monday he was going to personally apologize to Biggio on Tuesday. “I know the security in Chicago is doing a great job and when something happens so quickly, you can’t blame anybody,” Guillen said. “And the guy that did it, he should be brought to Biggio and he’s the one who can hopefully get him back. “I told the police, ’Don’t put him in jail, bring him to me in the dugout,”’ Guillen said. “Hopefully, that won’t happen again.”

If it's good weather one would have to be a moron to prefer indoor baseball over outdoor. I don't care if it's loud for the home team; Indoor baseball sucks.

Play Iguchi. Bat him second. I hope Oz doesn't go to Harris. Please no!

Good point, Count had the same outing. Battled! Love em both; Mark B and Count.

Here's the story on our locker room hot off the press if ya's want it: Konerko’s remarkable week now has a grand slam Eds: UPDATES with quotes By RICK GANO AP Sports Writer CHICAGO (AP) — What a week for Paul Konerko. He was the MVP of the AL championship series, became a father for the first time, and Sunday night delivered a grand slam that sent U.S. Cellular Field into delirium. Now he’s two wins away from celebrating a World Series title with the Chicago White Sox. “Not too many times are you going to hit a grand slam in the World Series and that would be the second-best thing that happened all week,” Konerko said. “I had a baby born Tuesday night. That’s first for the week. That one (grand slam) is second.” His seventh inning bases-loaded shot gave Chicago a 6-4 lead Sunday. Rookie closer Bobby Jenks couldn’t hold it in the ninth, but Scott Podsednik sent the White Sox to Texas with a 2-0 lead with a ninth-inning homer for a 7-6 victory over the Houston Astros. “He went all season, six months without hitting a home run. Now he’s got two in the postseason, a huge one right there,” Konerko said. “That’s as big a home run as you can ever hit.” Konerko’s was a big one, too. It was the 18th grand slam in World Series history, the first for a White Sox player. With the mist falling and their offense misfiring, the White Sox appeared headed to Texas all tied up, trailing by two runs. Then came the seventh and it all changed. First, a disputed call. Then Konerko’s grand slam. Jermaine Dye got hit with a pitch — or did he? That was the ruling, one disputed by Houston manager Phil Garner, that loaded the bases and set the stage for Konerko. Konerko said even he couldn’t tell. “Not from my angle, as I was on deck,” he said. “They argued that a little bit. It’s such a tough call for the umpire because if you don’t hear the wood sound, it sounds like hand. We’ll take it, it was a heck of an at-bat by him. Trailing 4-2, Juan Uribe’s second double, this one with one out, got it started. With two outs, Tadahito Iguchi worked Dan Wheeler for a walk and the fans at U.S. Cellular Field, many wearing rain slickers on a night more suited for football, began to sense a rally. It got even louder as No. 3 hitter Dye, who’d homered in Game 1 and singled in the first inning Sunday night, came to the plate. Wheeler’s pitch came inside and the ruling was that Dye was hit with the pitch. Garner thought otherwise, insisting it hit his bat. “I mean the umpire says you go to first, you are going to go to first,” Dye said. “I’m not going to tell him I fouled it off, so just go to first and hopefully we get a big hit, and we did.” Astros catcher Brad Ausmus said he thought the ball hit Dye based on Dye’s reaction. “The ump sees what, 225, 250 pitches a night and get the great majority of them right,” Ausmus said. “But it’s not like his call scored any runs. They did that on their own.” With the bases loaded, Garner came to the mound and sent Wheeler to the dugout. In came reliever Chad Qualls and up came Konerko. One pitch was all it took. Konerko’s drive to left was his fifth homer of the postseason and he pumped his fists as he rounded the bases, later stepping up in the dugout for a curtain call. “I wasn’t thinking home run. I was thinking base hit to drive in two runs,” Konerko said. “He’s nasty. I hadn’t taken a swing all night. I took one swing all night and that was on that pitch.” Konerko had trouble containing his emotions as he rounded the bases, admitting it was “kind of an out-of-body thing.” “Usually I try not to show that kind of stuff, but it just kind of comes on you. I don’t know what I did or what I looked like. It’s one of those things that you never experience anything like it,” he said. After winning the MVP of the ALCS against the Angels last Sunday, Konerko returned to his Arizona home where his wife gave birth to their first child, Nicholas. Konerko will be a free agent once this remarkable season is over, and who knows in the crazy world of baseball? It might have been his final game at U.S. Cellular Field. That’s not what is on his mind right now. “You lose a lead in the ninth and still come back and win that game in a World Series,” he said. “You feel good, you kind of feel like you got away with one. At the same time if we can get away with two more. ... But the job is not done yet.”

The way Mark Buehrle battles? Gutsy effort on a night the Stros had their bats wailing. It's sure nice to have a young veteran like Mark B. out there.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WORLD SERIES WINNER!!!!!!
greg775 replied to NUKE_CLEVELAND's topic in Pale Hose Talk
can't believe f***in Black Jack predicated a sweep!!WTF?? 2 more to go, yes its close but damn anything can happen. Well, he predicted a sweep if we win tomorrow, but still, you can't do that. Good point, hustler, but it's cool since many of the other media are predicting an easy Oswalt win. Might as well have some guys on our side. I hear ya though. GO SOX! -
One at-bat changes nothing for me. They are going to be talking about that one at bat as long as they play baseball in Chicago.
-
Why would they want the Astros? Weird. We are the better story with Oz and the big boy Jenks and Joe reminding everybody of Brooks Robinson and our Mt. Rushmore starters.
-
Anderson is not on the WS roster, but if there is an injury, I think the Sox can bring someone in. B-Mac is there too. It is a great experience for young players. Thanks Ugly for the explanation. They gots the best seat in the house! It is invaluable! So cool they can be there.

If mcCarver said "why do these things happen?" that is a s***ty home run call. Somebody tell me he didn't say that. That is a bulls*** call. They happen cause the guy made up for his bad throw and hit one of the most dramatic homers in Series history!!! He was there to live it and ways, 'why do these things happen?' Geez
