2020 Election Thoughts
I wasn't talking about Trump, he's old news, he's gone, the FORMER president. I'm talking about the common American and trying to suggest Americans can start working together as they do in crisis when they risk their own lives to help others. Trump's crimes are well known, but like I said, I'm moving on. He's gonzo. It's Joe time and I'd prefer unity in the USA as there was under Obama. at least I perceived us being relatively united under BO.

2020 Election Thoughts
I could write an essay on all the heroes in the American public who drove their boats down there to help people. My point was Americans are inherently good to each other and band together when they need each other ... cept for politics. Talk about politics and it's screaming and hollering.

2020 Election Thoughts
It backs up what I said about people pulling together in crisis, which you weirdly freaked out on me, not understanding my point. My point is people in America band together and help in times of crisis yet hit each other with bats over politics. Check your first sentence. Nice language again. Why the venom. Can't we just discuss things? I offered to depart this thread if people don't want my takes on this issue. The offer stands. Nobody has said please leave yet.

2020 Election Thoughts
I have friends who drove their boat down there to immediately to rescue people. They are saints. Wanting to help their fellow man. They did it. I can prove it. My friends didn't ask their political affiliation. THEY HELPED. Not the Puerto Rico one, one of the other hurricanes, Louisiana, etc. I'd appreciate if you quit cussing at me.

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
I knew this was coming. Not saying it'll be good or bad but I pray the complete shutdown of the USA in January which could be coming, works on all levels. If toilet paper sells out again, I'm gonna scream BTW. https://www.outkick.com/are-we-heading-toward-another-long-term-lockdown/

2020 Election Thoughts
What if I say I disagree with this assertion? You say it with such force like it's 100 percent the truth, no room for discussion. Not debatable? Are you saying half the country (close to half) that wants Donald to win exudes hatred 24/7? And are hateful people? Don't you see how divisive saying such things with 100 percent certainty can be? What if I picked something about Kamala or AOC or Joe and said something negative with the same forcefulness? I'm pretty sure my forceful "opinion" (your comment is an opinion not fact) would put me in the penalty box for a long long time.

2020 Election Thoughts
The country is never divided when hurricanes blister the south or the coasts. Americans from all over the land join forces with the agencies and head to the trouble spots and save fellow Americans. They even tow their own boats to trouble spots down south to save people off their roofs and save people and their animals. But for some reason ... politics. We hate each other's guts and never stop. I read today Democrats are moving to Georgia so they can vote to get the Senate majority. The hatred between Trump Republicans and Democrats is insane especially considering Americans band together for things like attacks from foreign countries and natural disasters. It makes zero sense but this country is totally divided because of politics. But u wait until the next disaster hits ... we'll all help each other day and night. Makes zero sense we can't do it all the time and work together instead of beat each other with baseball bats and start fires in innocent businesses.

La Russa arrested for DUI in Feb; charged day before hire
Commish IMO should suspend Tony 1-2 seasons. Does open a can of worms precedent however. I mean do it case by case. He's a Hall of Famer who is old. Inexcusable to make such bad decisions at that age/rank. SUSPEND HIM.

La Russa arrested for DUI in Feb; charged day before hire
Jose is a class act. The whole news conference will be a shame if it's LaRussa dominated. Like you guys, I fear it'll be mostly LaRussa questions about an old guy managing the team and playing for a guy with a recent DUI and two lifetime DUIs. Sad.

2020 Election Thoughts
Yeah I watched that clip just now.. I agree after watching that they are full of it and talking out of both sides of their mouths depending on what benefits their side. I would agree with you that they are biased. Why do I watch their clips then? I dunno. I think I tend to agree a lot with their takes on issues as they come up. I agree with you though; they obviously are biased on this issue; ripping Democrats in 2018 and not ripping Republicans for the same thing in 2020. Should they be fired for this? Maybe. This is a bad look for them and could be a fireable offense. I personally don't spend much time watching any TV thus yes the only time I do check clips it'd be Fox. Cuomo and Lemon make me too angry and I don't do the network political shows or MSNBC. In my limited time, the winners are: The Fox hosts for news snippages, Stern for car entertainment and a little music if I've heard the Stern replay too many times. Rush has lost out; local news shows forget it. Actually in a perfect world they'd just present the news, but political news coverage has totally changed. These shows are more opinion than straight news. The thing is, some channels won't even cover some of the things that interest me. Fox will, so Fox wins.

2020 Election Thoughts
Now posts like that help healing instead of people wanting to demand apologies from those who support Trump. Your first sentence was gracious and would heal a lot of bad feelings following the election. You know a lot of people that support Trump realize he's a bad guy. But there are two sides. I won't list the reasons people would vote against the Democratic candidate because I'd probably get banned. But suffice it to say some people realize Trump is a bad, ruthless, selfish person and still have reasons to punch the ballot in his favor over Joe/Kamala or as some allege Kamala/Joe. Posts like yours would help the healing process as Joe called it instead of people like AOC wanting to get public apologies from those who backed Trump. Ralph on the Stern show said he'd never speak to any of his friends or relatives again if they voted for Trump. Too harsh when both sides have problems.

2020 Election Thoughts
It's all politically slanted nowadays depending on the network. I actually don't watch any TV except live sports games and SNL. I do a youtube update on my phone every morning and will watch short clips of Tucker Carlson, Hannity or Laura while breakfasting if any of the headlines grab my interest ... I also will check CNN and FOX websites on my phone a few times a day and laugh at the polar opposite differences in the slant of their stories and what they are actually covering. I don't trust anybody. Today I see the guy who Fox said revealed cheating at the polls in Nevada, then told CNN he never said there was cheating, now insists there was cheating at the Nevada polls. My radio listening is only Stern. He's that funny. And to show how I don't get worked up about these things, Stern despises everything about Trump's politics, is a huge Biden supporter and it doesn't bother me a bit. I respect his opinion even though I don't agree with him politically most of the time.

2020 Election Thoughts
You know what, I take exception to your line about how he should be acting as a patriot. Yes, some of us are VERY skeptical of both sides of the government. Yes some of us think it certainly could be fraudulent and yes some of us are worried about the Senate races in Georgia and how "fair" they will be. What I'm saying (and even though you may want me silenced or banned or whatever) a lot of US citizens do agree with me. Would I love to be wrong?? Of course. I am a proud American ready to honor my relatives and others on Veterans Day. But do I welcome an inspection of the voting in a close election? Yes I do. Sorry but that's how I feel. Am I skeptical? Yes. Does that make me a lousy American not just congratulating Joe? I don't think so but I suspect many of you do. My take is: if it's frivilous lawsuits wasting time, then definitely SLAP Rudy's wrists and give Trump everything he deserves, maybe even jail time if he's purposely wasting the court's time. BUT ... if there's fraud and it can be proven, prove it and rectify a possible wrong. If the attorneys on this site say this is frivilous, which they are doing, then I probably need to change my opinion as I do respect their honor.

2020 Election Thoughts
OK. I do take your word for it as a Soxtalk attorney. I trust u over RG. If he's a total bozo, fine, I'm mistaken. I figured if he's Trump's personal lawyer and a former good mayor, he has a clue.
-
2020 Election Thoughts
That's a good analogy IMO. He is truly playing this lost game under protest. That's why I personally think Trump is dumb to pursue this. He's not going to win the election, period, just as nobody has won a protest since the pine tar game. It's over. I'd personally suggest he move on and enjoy the fruits of being an ex president. However if his protests have something to them and this get overturned, I'd applaud him for taking it to court and sorting it out. If this makes any sense...
-
2020 Election Thoughts
If there is reason to consider it a frivilous lawsuit then I'm all for throwing it out. Hopefully somebody in the judicial will determine that. If it's determined Trump is wasting the court's time hopefully he's reprimanded, mocked, whatever. If there's reason to try a lawsuit, though, try it.

To be clear it was a TV show with the interview shown on youtube which is the Internet. I'm serious if you guys want me to get out of this thread I will.

2020 Election Thoughts
I'm not making any of this stuff up, I'm commenting on what's going on out there. I'm not just dismissing what Trump's team is saying. They are saying there's fraud and his personal attorney is filing suits. This is all real and worth commenting on. Just because I'm one of the only guys willing to let it play out in court instead of just dismissing it doesn't mean I'm insincere. I have a lot of concerns about the radical left. If Joe truly is a moderate I'm all for Joe even though I"m sick about my taxes likely going up. If you all want me to shut up and please not comment on this stuff I will abide by your decision and shut up.

2020 Election Thoughts
Rudy G is the president's personal attorney, not some yokel on the street. He says he has witnesses to fraud who are ready to testify. I can only go by what a legitimate source says. The president's personal attorney is a legitimate source. It's not just Donnie Jr. saying it. So he needs to put up the witnesses or shut up. Not sure why this is so controversial. My personal take is Trump should give it up. It's not going to get overturned and like I said in another thread he's an old man who should do what ex-presidents do: enjoy the SS protection, write books, go on speaking tours, enjoy the final years of his life.

La Russa arrested for DUI in Feb; charged day before hire
Too bad baseball commish can't step in and suspend Tony one full season. Sox should just bring back RR for a year and give him a shot to win it all with the team he helped mold. He can be interim. What an example of good guy vs. bad: grandpa nice guy RR vs. Troubled Tony LaRussa, the legit ring-owner. I am sorry I was one of 1 or 2 fans on the site elated when Sox hired Tony. I thought he'd made one mistake years ago and learned from it. I had no idea he was this kind of a jerk/lawbreaker. I apologize.

2020 Election Thoughts
Do you want a link to Giuliani? Says he has many many willing to testify to blatant fraud. Why can't we just decide it in the courts? At the very least it might allow us to lock up anybody who may have committed voter fraud. If the lawsuits convict one person guilty of messing with my ballot or my neighbor's ballot, it's worth it. Rudy says there's fraud and he can prove it.
-
2020 Election Thoughts
I just listened to a Rudy G youtube in which he clearly lays out his case for fraud. Let it play out in the courts. He was on a local NY stadtion. He said no media nationally are interested in the story. In Rudy's words, "you may not believe the evidence but there is evidence of fraud." There's no harm in letting it play out in the courts. It won't affect Joe in any way and his supporters are just mocking the efforts of Trump and Rudy G anyway. So what's the problem?

La Russa arrested for DUI in Feb; charged day before hire
I apologize for being so excited about the LaRussa hire. I mistakenly figured the DUI in his past was a one-time thing. To get one DUI is bad (though I know many who've gotten them; not me), but to get two when you can call for an Uber is indefensible. All you have to do is call an Uber. The Sox have to fire him. DUIs are unacceptable in any era. To not take an Uber or Lyft is just sticking your middle finger to society and safety. I need to read through the thread but I do apologize for wanting Tony to be Sox manager. I just incorrectly assumed his first DUI was a mistake and many people make mistakes. But to keep him now is wrong on many levels. Jerry probably should sell the team in response to this, but I doubt he will. The reason I say that is if the reports are true he knew about the DUI the day before Tony was hired, that's pretty despicable. I have no excuses. I thought Tony was a great choice as a Hall of Famer but obviously he has problems and the biggest problem is he endangered others in breaking the law. My deepest apologies to Sox fans and humanity for thinking Tony was the only choice.

2020 Election Thoughts
That's a fair post. I can see your point(s). I have to be honest. I haven't watched any of Trump's pressers or whine sessions or whatever they are. I've tried to cut back on stuff I watch cause it all makes me so upset. So if that disqualifies me from having an opinion, so be it. I personally think I should share my opinion because there ARE people who think like me out there. In conclusion, though, If I were Trump I'd just concede and spend the rest of my life (he's old, folks) doing what ex-presidents do, write books, give speeches, do stuff for charity and fade away with the realization you once held the highest office, no more. The ODDS of all the lawsuits changing anything are slim IMO so I'd move on. That's just me.
