  1. Thank you for asking. Because I watch the riots nightly on stream (Portland, Seattle) myself. I see the anger in the streets and the radical agenda. I have read Kaepernick's demands. No prisons. I have read AOC's demands. No police. I have seen first hand Seattle defund the police and government officials simply allow the looting and destructive behavior nightly. I have heard the people against guns want them ALL out of commission. So I have "concerns" that the AOC group will be running the show. If all of you are right and we continue to have law and order I will be a happy camper. And like I said if Joe is his own man he will be the most popular president since Kennedy IMO. Thanks for asking. Trust me there are people who think like me. It is good to get all perspectives.
  2. Interesting. Thanks. I wonder how the Senate will wind up? If it goes Democrat then Joe gets everything passed. My hope is Biden is his own man. On the Republican side there's been a lot of fear he could be a puppet and merely do what AOC and BLM/Antifa want, i.e., absolutely no guns, no prisons, no cops, excessive reparations to the tune of 400,000 bucks per Black family, free medical care for illegal immigrants when Americans pay out the butt for insurance, stuff like that. I trust Joe will be his own man like Obama. If so he could be the most popular president in history considering the anger toward Mr. Trump.
  3. On a different note ... my question to you is: "Will Joe Biden be an even better president than Obama? Is he gonna be one of the most popular presidents ever since he follows a president who is publicly despised by so many?" Curious as to how we think Joe will do.
  4. My choices. 1. Ozzie Guillen 2. La Russa 3. Bochy 4. Ned Yost
  5. That's not the version I read.
  6. I doubt that. The hatred of Trump totally envelopes America. Yes he has a zillion supporters but they for the most part are quiet. The media narrative that they are a bunch of thugs running amok beating people up is wrong. They may be shining their guns but for the most part have their guns locked away until needed. Trump hatred has been a daily occurence in media, sports, pretty much everywhere except one cable channel (Fox) and one broadcaster (Rush). I think Joe woulda won in a landslide even w/out COVID. The kinder, gentler, nice polite Joe was destined to win and win big against a more rude, crass Trump. Just my take. I hope and pray Joe brings the country together, stays healthy and wards off the ideas of more radical Demos. Best of luck to Joe!
  7. How do you explain all Joe's overall vote totals in the popular vote? He got a ton of 'em. Say what you want about Trump, he's got a lot of supporters. His base doesn't care about his insensitive language, etc. And Joe whipped him good, especially in popular vote. Do you disagree with my logical scenario of many years of this combination of Demo candidates/winners? Joe, Kamala, AOC. Lotta years of president to come, via those names right?
  8. All this angst seems silly with Joe having won this election. Weird. If he stays healthy IMO he gets 8 years. Probably more likely he will go four years max (pray for good health) then give way to Kamala/AOC for eight. AOC will be old enough to run in 2024 or be VEEP more likely. Then it's her turn for eight. So I don't understand questioning the Demos philosophy when it looks like we'll have a Demo president for many years to come. Just my take. How can anybody suggest the Democrats are not in great shape for the future? Somebody said Joe's popular vote total is huge, maybe the most in history.
  9. How ironic that Tony La Russa once was ripped for being the youngest manager and now he's being ripped for being the oldest manager. I'm genuinely shocked Sox fans are against this hire. It says a lot that most Sox fans would prefer they never fired RR if it meant getting Hall of Famer Tony.
  10. What's the point line? Everything points to him being a great candidate except for his age. And that's ridiculous. His resume screams WINNER
  11. Sox fans, at least the vocal ones, drive me crazy. Hire inexperienced guys like Ventura and Bevington and there's the freak out. Got a guy like Renteria who speaks spanish and gets along with the players and the fans despise his in-game moves and want him out desperately. So what if he's a manager of the year finalist. get rid of him. But now they hire a three-time WS champ, a guy who loves the White Sox, and a Hall of Famer and there's the worst reaction of all. Tony LaRussa is a fantastic hire and Sox fans, many of 'em, are furious. They might even boo him out of the stadium on opening day at this rate. This is either an age thing completely or the desire to have a perfect person married to analytics to run the team. The mistakes he's made in his life ... geez, give the guy a break. I'm sure he regrets getting pulled over for a DUI. I'm sure everybody on here is still friends with folks they know who have gotten a DUI. I havent' abandoned friends and family who have DUIs in their past. Terrible, yes. Forgiveable? Yes if they are contrite and try to get help. I they injured somebody in that state, hopefully they are in prison.
  12. No sense of humor?
  13. For those stressed about Tony LaRussa please watch him on this game show 40 years ago. Hilarious stuff. Kudos to Tony for a sense of humor going on it.
  14. Joe had a huge gaffe today. I won't bring up details out of respect for Joe and his family. Maybe he's just grief stricken but huge gaffe. I pray as president he's fine mentally cause I don't personally want Kamala to run the country. Just my preference for Joe over Kamala.
  15. I won't be watching any more coverage of politics. I am gracious and will contratulate Joe and hope for the best. I will check Fox and CNN on my phone to see what they are covering. No talking heads. I'm hooked on Stern so I don't listen to Rush anymore. Stern is a big anti Trump guy so it shows I am open minded. I love Stern show and listen to it exclusively in the car.
  16. I've seen the comments by Joe myself, have you? Fox played the dementia card way before Trump grabbed it. I'm praying Joe is OK cause I'm one of those kooks not discounting a theory that he'll be stepping down 3-6 months into his tenure as president and Kamala will have 7.5 years of presidency. UNLESS Pelosi and Co. want AOC who will be old nuff to run in 2024. That's my take. So I do think for myself not just Trump campaign.
  17. Fair enough. Not sure why Trump hasn't faced the dementia card yet. I think it's because he gets out so much and speaks so much at rallies, etc. It's pretty apparent he's not afraid to speak, speak, speak while Joe has been bottled up in the basement so to speak.
  18. On a sad, disgusting note: Vegas is sold out of toilet paper and paper towels again. Seems the panic has set in over unrest that figures to be coming. Unbelievable. We got more problems than hoarding TP again.
  19. Do you read your own posts? You are such a Biden supporter you won't even consider dementia possibility? Your last sentence is so homer it's unbelievable. This is big boy politics and Joe has said some things that would make one think he could have some mental capacity problems. p.s. I made the decision today to watch no coverage of the election. I'm just hoping for the best. I fully expect Joe/Harris to win and I contratulate them if that, as expected, is the case. p.s. I will read some of the coverage off my phone on my regular checks of Fox and CNN. I love to see the two polar opposite takes.
  20. Her performance was so outstanding the Democrats pretty much shut up and accepted it and moved on to packing the court where the tide will be turned. ACB seemed so professional/nice/outstanding that the Democrats were silenced and decided to move on to the packing the court issue where they can get even. Democrats should lighten up. After tomorrow they have the president, VP and majority of both houses. That's political nirvana, folks.
  21. I can't beat you in an argument so I won't even try. Reading this post ... I don't stand a chance so I won't even try. This actually is a perfect "how to beat somebody in an argument" post. I could make some counterpoints but like I said, you win. No reason to try.
  22. I voted for him and I'm Catholic.
  23. Resurgence? He led baseball in RBIs last season. Give me a break.
  24. Yes some people think Harris/AOC/Nancy, the four folks in that group with the nickname I'm forgetting, do believe socialism is the goal. And some cities have already devastated their police forces and certainly want the abolishment of police. Times have changed. Joe and Harris' policies of the past don't matter. At least that's the position of some of us who are very afraid of the things I mentioned in my long post. How bout somebody address each of my points and give me your point of view rather than deem me an idiot or a troll? I'd love to not be worried about the things I mentioned. I do fear Civil War; I do fear lack of law and order. I do fear communism/socialism coming. I'm not the only one. I just have a different viewpoint from you and some others.
  25. Looks like McConnell and Graham flat out lied. Voters should vote them out; don't stack the court for gosh sakes and change the whole system. Even Ruth thought that was a bad idea. So are we supposed to stack the court and add a few states? That will assure Democrat rule forever. The two party system isn't perfect but it is a way to have some checks and balances. Stacking the court and adding 2 states or more will assure Democrat rule forever. Not healthy when folks like Nancy/AOC and Pelosi are saying the stuff they are saying about the future. Did anybody watch those hearings and see ACB as the devil? She seems fantastic. She's going to hear cases not rubber stamp GOP positions IMO. How can you watch the hearings and listen to her and think she's not qualified? She seems great.
