  1. I wasn't trying to blast you.
  2. You've had some interesting posts on COVID, many I disagree with obviously. I'd like to hear your summation of what we should be doing now and what should have been done then in 10 paragraphs or less. Pls. take into consideration EVERYTHING ... the insidious disease, but also the economy (not the big corps but the little guys and gals need to eat and have shelter) and mental health. You are very opinionated and get upset at others' comments like mine a lot. I'd like to see your plan in a nutshell. What should be done now and what shoulda been done at the start all the way thru late fall into this dark winter. Thank u in advance.
  3. They better interview this Sox fan if the Sox hire the manager who cheated.
  4. True. And it's really WRONG to hire the guy if you are the Sox. Especially when Tony is available and others are available. The distraction would be ridiculous, hiring a guy who had to cheat to win. Cmon. The Sox don't need the distraction.
  5. Dave Roberts won't be leaving the Dodgers after reaching the WSeries IMO. Cmon are we at this point that a manager must win it all or get fired? I say no. The guy is the NL champion and he did a nice job letting that guy pitch the last 3 innings rather than bring in somebody for the 9th.
  6. So what if Tony is old. Can I remind you all HALL OF FAME MANAGER? He'll be motivated too with these young studs to coach! There's a lot of Tony hate not on here but Twitter. Sox have a ton of holes. We need a HOF voice to wake up Hahn/Jerry to reality. Got to do some work this offseason.
  7. Tony of course. I am in total favor of hiring a Hall of Famer named Tony LaRussa. It's fate he wins 2 WS titles with his Sox. Jerry wants to write a wrong, fix the karma. Tony knows what needs to be done IMO to help the younguns. Eloy needs help on D; Robert needs to adjust a bit. Hire Tony please.
  8. I'll buy what you are selling. I don't hate Cease but his lines in the box score were so pedestrian, so ugly. Hopefully the new pitching coach can help him. Lopez has been so so bad. Ditto him working with the new pitching coach hopefully.
  9. I won't take the bait. See past greg comments. I hold no ill will for him for being human. MVP.
  10. And in game seven he pulled the starter too early IMO. Of course the reliever stranded the two runners and it all worked out. But in theory the bullpen was taxed and the starter was doing well still.
  11. I would think Cease has ceased to be a prime prospect. Why would anybody think he's gonna be anything but just another guy after watching him pitch?
  12. I was hoping to imply managers are way overrated. True you don't want somebody bunting all the time, or playing Sunday lineups all the time and conceding games like Ozz did at the end, , but frankly, it wasn't RR's fault that Robert became human and Eloy got hurt again and my guy, Jose, made outs instead of bashing with men on base vs. the A's. Or that the Sox had just two starting pitchers at the end, etc. I'd take LaRussa and be done with it. He can manage as well as most any of 'em. Of course you are risking the clubhouse, but we didn't care about the good clubhouse we had with RR, right?
  13. Wow.
  14. Damned if you do regarding analytics; damned if you don't. Just.Win.Baby. Remember Ned Yost will always be remembered as a WS winning manager. People thought he was a veritable clown for a long long time. Just.Win.Baby.
  15. Sox really need to get creative, They need pitching, arguably lots of it. And they need Vaughn to excel as DH and a new right fielder.
  16. Look at the bright side. If Tony takes the job and leads us to a dynasty, the Sox will have righted a wrong. He'll still be a Hall of Famer, but with 2-3 more WS titles before he turns 80. Sox have the talent. He can make sure Hahn adds the right pieces. Say what you want about analytics and how Hahn is smart with analytics; Tony not so much. Hmmmm ... Sox have a lot of holes Mr. Hahn has no plan right now expressed on how to fill them. Analytics aren't helping complete the deal on this rebuild. Tony can tell him what he needs to win it all in 2021, 22 and 23. I think we all would like 3 world series appearances in a row and hopefully win 2 titles. At least 1 in the next 3 years, hopefully 2. It will take more than analytics to win. LaRussa has the pull to demand the pieces get filled. Right??
  17. Frankly I knew we'd lose the A's series cause they had, what, 3-4 former Sox contributing?
  18. I'm surprised the fake names didn't include Drs. "Howard, Fine and Howard." Paging Dr. Howard, Dr. Fine, Dr. Howard.
  19. He had a fantastic year. Congratulations to him.
  20. He deserves it. 1.) His team made the playoffs which proves the Hahn-led rebuild is not a bust and will pay dividends. 2.) Some of the player he's acquired are bonafide superstar candidates (Robert, Moncada, Eloy, Kopech, TA, Vaughn) as well as a stud catcher (Grandal) and long-term solution at second base (Madrigal). Also he signed Abreu when he coulda let him walk or dump him. Sure he whiffed at the deadline. Sure his pitching staff was not championship caliber. So what? For now, he deserves that award.
  21. No problem, but if Sox fans only concern is age, the heck with that. We're about to elect a president who is pretty darn old. Tony needs to agree to an extensive health exam for everybody's benefit, then go ahead and hire him if Jerry wants his buddy to run the show during the Sox WS window. I'll stop now and read your replies.
  22. I'm starting to warm to the idea, BTW. Tony LaRussa, Hall of Famer, gets to mold Robert into a superstar, gets to motivate Eloy even more to be a star, gets to work with some of the potential stars in the game on the Sox team. What are the downsides? I believe Tony also speaks Spanish which is BIG in today's game and considering the Sox need a communicator with the Spanish speaking guys. What can it hurt? He's a Hall of Famer. He's not gonna screw it up. Only better thing would be Ozzeroo and even I realize Oz buried himself and can't be hired because of prior statements he's made. Could cause picketing, riots, etc. I really don't want anybody involved with the Astros scandal. It doesn't have to be Tony for me to be happy but why not??
  23. Folks, we should know by now this is all Reinsdorf and the partners. If they want Tony (and face it if Jerry is healthy and Tony is healthy it's gonna be Tony) it will be Tony. My guess is Jerry, if he's healthy and spry still, wants Tony around as manager. It would right a lot of wrongs caused by Hawk when he canned Tony. Rich guys think differently than we do, folks and Jerry wants to win a title or two with his pal, his baseball buddy. It's that simple. It's Tony if Tony is healthy (AND IF HE WANTS TO MANAGE) and Jerry is healthy. And don't forget Tony, who is grumpy, can handle the Chicago media now, now that newspapers are dead and talk radio is something Tony can ignore if he wishes. Again, we are all grownups here and know how the world works. Jerry wants to be involved and best way is to hire his pal, who happens to be in the Hall.
  24. Great question. It's insane how different the reports are. Yesterday I read the spike will be amazing starting now through a few months after everybody takes the vaccine. We're looking definitely at no relief from COVID til the spring of 2022. Then today I read it's all gonna be over by this May. No more COVID concerns. WTF. I'll stand by my prediction 10 percent of capacity next season. Or possibly no fans one more season.
  25. Was Coop on the radio today or not? Link? Thank u in advance.
