  1. Hi Harry. Got to love the Sox in playoffs (Crusader football this spring). Darn ... Jose just missed a two-homer game.
  2. And that folks is why Sox have Grandal. He is a veteran star. He emerges when it counts, baby. That said, keep it rolling (leave Gio in!!)
  3. Sox could always trade Grandal and keep McCann. Sox have a very good third catcher so Grandal is expendable if the Sox are in love with McCann. I must confess I like the chap.
  4. Sox should be loose. No expectations at all and the first year of what "should" be a nice run of playoff appearances. The bats need to erupt. I'm not saying they will erupt (superstition baby), I'm saying they could understandably erupt.
  5. He is like George Bell when Sox were in the playoffs that one year. He was finished.
  6. One thing is for sure if he wins one playoff series, this one vs. the A's, he's not going anywhere. It'd be a weird firing and uncalled for. Winning a playoff series with a team that has been the dregs of baseball for years. Sox don't make moves that ridiculous to the nation. Like I said if they go out 0-2 with Stone and Hurt and others ripping him, he could be gone.
  7. Tough call. To the nation, it would seem grossly unfair to fire RR after getting Sox in the playoffs. It appears the team is constantly improving with him at helm. He's getting ripped though and fairly for the Cleveland series which was a disaster. Then they lose 2 of 3 to Cubs are are staggering into playoffs. If they go 0-2 he might get fired. I couldn't find any info on his contract but I don't think he got a big extension last year when they extended him. Yes I think we all could see the Sox extending Renteria but ... who knows?
  8. They did in the game one beatdown. That was wild. GO SOX in the second season. I want the Cubs!!!!
  9. Somebody should be fired on the spot if Lopez pitches.
  10. If he is MVP, get the statue ready at The Cell or whatever we call Comiskey Park nowadays.
  11. I couldn't watch the game but very nice win. If we can win Sunday we win four of six versus a good Cub team. Nice. Sox aren't dead yet. Let's face it nobody knows if we're going to hit in the postseason. And this team can be awesome offensively and on a given night horrific. We all can admit we have no idea how this team will fare.
  12. I love that man. Give him MVP please.
  13. Sox have only one chance -- the LONG BALL. If Sox regain the upper cut home run touch, they win. If they don't, they strikeout and lose. The all or nothing hitting approach is fine, but I feel it's more conducive to being a .500 team at best. Cause u are not gonna hit dingers ALL SEASON. Hopefully Sox will get hot and go on a roll when the playoffs start. Sox remain the same team if Eloy is healthy. Capable of hitting 3-4 bombs a game.
  14. Fathom is on fire this thread. All his posts are right there. I do think your Robert observation is huge. I know I can be captain obvious, but his bat when it is sizzling makes a huge difference. If he is like this, resembling a singles hitter who is overmatched at the plate, Sox have no chance. Only way Sox can win is if Eloy/Robert are sizzling. It's contagious and all up to them and did I hear Eloy is hurt? Foot sprain? Yikes. No Eloy/bad Robert equals no wins. Early season Robert/healthy Eloy means WS title.
  15. You are on to something there IMO. The Cubs looked like a very different team than the one Sox beat 2 of 3 and frankly the one the Sox played the last few years of the Sox rebuild. Cubs were into it and pissed and frankly beat up the White Sox. That bat flip was insane. The chat with Anderson on second base after he got hit looked intense. Sox really look passive and terrible but as we all know, stuff happens. I wish all Sox starters could get 12 hours sleep the next couple nights, rest up for the playoffs and return to the aggressive, fun, cocky home run hitting team of most of the season. Right now Sox blow chunks, but folks that can still change. I will say the Sox are in a bind with RR if the Sox get swept by the Cubs and fall meekly in the playoffs. Is that a fireable offense after playing so well most of the COVID season? I dunno but I do trust Stoney and Stoney obviously thinks RR is a dud by his tweets. I'd personally defer to Stoney I guess and axe Ricky for somebody else.
  16. This is sort of embarrassing. Cubs are fired up beyond belief and kicking our butts. See if we can wake up from this nightmarish end of the season at some point. Sox look like a different team frankly. I'm not mad or anything, just pointing out how it looks to me. We're getting owned, at least tonite.
  17. I think the Yankees and Rays would pound the Sox and they have a decent shot vs. any other team including the NL.
  18. He only has 139 followers. Is he real?
  19. You'd think if they were lying about number of positives they'd just say they had 2 in the program. To say zero and be lying would be weird. As long as the government lets private schools say whatever they want and hide behind HIPAA law, the public will have no way of being a watchdog and checking.
  20. Wow. Why would anybody be anti mask? You wear it and you have some protection. Geez.
  21. Kansas football has ZERO positive cases of COVID-19 in its football program as of 4 pm. today. I mean Kansas State had 30 last week. WTF is goin on? I know sometimes college coaches and admins lie, but not for something this serious.
  22. Sox look bad when they aren't hitting. Let's get Robert going and the other guys need to relax and play bash ball. We gotta get the home run mojo going in the playoffs. 3 to 4 a game will do it. Sox are struggling but not dead yet. Sox have played the same teams so many times it's just a weird thing. Don't give up the ship yet. Team is gonna be hungry. Jose and EE are veterans and will have the younger Sox ready for playoffs. Look for Moncada to have a big postseason and Grandal to step up. Sox ain't dead yet.
  23. Yoan should just try to get base hits in this corona year. I betcha he just doesn't have the energy. Bless him for trying.
