  1. what channel do i turn on? it aint on espn right now; thanx
  2. It's called second guessing. It'll take place as long as there are fans.
  3. Very good post. He's a huge factor when he's in the lineup and healthy.
  4. I haven't read what's happening but it's got to be Dunning even though there are no guarantees he'll be good.
  5. You have the right to feel that way. But obviously it's second-guessing. What if he rips it in the gap? Then he's a genius pouncing on the first pitch. It's disappointing sure. I'm more disappointed Semien and Bassitt beat the Sox today. I actually think the Sox have the better team. On to Game Three. Hope the Sox win.
  6. This is a very good post and frankly why managers would be dumb to care about opinions of fans ever. One common complaint during the course of any season is the use of relievers in individual games. And like you said managers and pitching coaches have all sorts of reasons for not using their best on given nights. Every game is indeed game seven to many fans and a manager just manages for the long haul. ... Another fan thing is blaming a guy like RR for playing Grandal too much or EE too much when they are being outplayed by McCann and/or struggling. A manager has to play the big-time acquisitions no matter what. If you embarrass the GM, that is not good.
  7. Now it's trouble. Down by a full five runs. Not giving up yet but if Sox lose I'd start Dunning for 4 to 5 innings then go to Cease, then the pen in Game Three.
  8. You are acting like the Randy Quaid character in Major League. Stuff happens. It's baseball. Hopefully Sox win today, if not, the next game in Chicago. GO SOX.
  9. I can honestly say I saw it coming.
  10. OK, relievers and defense, pick him up. He pitched a fine game and Sox have hit the long ball. Formula for a Sox win. Just.Complete.It. Thank u.
  11. Oops. Me disagree with no brainer decision to yank him, but excited to see if Lucas gets out of jam.
  12. Hi Harry. Got to love the Sox in playoffs (Crusader football this spring). Darn ... Jose just missed a two-homer game.
  13. And that folks is why Sox have Grandal. He is a veteran star. He emerges when it counts, baby. That said, keep it rolling (leave Gio in!!)
  14. Sox could always trade Grandal and keep McCann. Sox have a very good third catcher so Grandal is expendable if the Sox are in love with McCann. I must confess I like the chap.
  15. Sox should be loose. No expectations at all and the first year of what "should" be a nice run of playoff appearances. The bats need to erupt. I'm not saying they will erupt (superstition baby), I'm saying they could understandably erupt.
  16. He is like George Bell when Sox were in the playoffs that one year. He was finished.
  17. One thing is for sure if he wins one playoff series, this one vs. the A's, he's not going anywhere. It'd be a weird firing and uncalled for. Winning a playoff series with a team that has been the dregs of baseball for years. Sox don't make moves that ridiculous to the nation. Like I said if they go out 0-2 with Stone and Hurt and others ripping him, he could be gone.
  18. Tough call. To the nation, it would seem grossly unfair to fire RR after getting Sox in the playoffs. It appears the team is constantly improving with him at helm. He's getting ripped though and fairly for the Cleveland series which was a disaster. Then they lose 2 of 3 to Cubs are are staggering into playoffs. If they go 0-2 he might get fired. I couldn't find any info on his contract but I don't think he got a big extension last year when they extended him. Yes I think we all could see the Sox extending Renteria but ... who knows?
  19. They did in the game one beatdown. That was wild. GO SOX in the second season. I want the Cubs!!!!
  20. Somebody should be fired on the spot if Lopez pitches.
  21. If he is MVP, get the statue ready at The Cell or whatever we call Comiskey Park nowadays.
  22. I couldn't watch the game but very nice win. If we can win Sunday we win four of six versus a good Cub team. Nice. Sox aren't dead yet. Let's face it nobody knows if we're going to hit in the postseason. And this team can be awesome offensively and on a given night horrific. We all can admit we have no idea how this team will fare.
  23. I love that man. Give him MVP please.
