  1. PTATC is there any way a pitcher can loosen up his back so to speak? Or will he have back problems all season and years to come like many with back problems?
  2. Chicago has overall been pretty spoiled compared to the old days. In modern history, we have the Blackhawk dynasty, the Bulls dynasty, the Sox 05 WS title, the Cubs WS title. That's not bad. The Bears 85 title was the one that busted the city's long long drought. As a city, there have been plenty of parades. Dynasties in hockey and basketball to go with a WS title on both sides of town is pretty good.
  3. He's good. I like him.
  4. I personally think fans need to just accept the face EE and Grandal are both good additions. Case closed. EE has hit some mammoth, important bombs. Sweeps against KC are awesome. I hesitate to b**** much about anything right now Sox related. I mean it's not like EE has been worthless. Ditto Grandal. Even Nomar has not been horrificly bad. Throw in the super human performaces of Tim, Robert and Abreu and don't worry, be happy. And Eloy.
  5. I don't mind him. I looked at his career statline weeks ago and it wasn't horrible. Coupled with his age and the way other guys are hitting, he's a prime candidate for "wait and see" rather than burying him. Ultimately he may be rotten but he has not yet annoyed me.
  6. I won't say any more about that poster, cause the mods don't want me to derail threads like people say I do, except to say if he likes Abreu, he sure kept up the schtick a long time last year. Whenever he did badly he ripped him mercilessly and also got on him almost daily for chewing tobacco. If it's a game he's playing, yes, admittedly he got me cause I worship Abreu so to speak. I usually despise one or two Sox myself but I decided to enjoy this covid-shortened season no matter what. Just having baseball taking my mind off the riots and Covid has been great. I can honestly say the only Sox I'm close to despising are some of our lousy relievers as well as Delmonico. I feel more sad for Delmonico than anger toward him. He just can't hit MLB.
  7. Sox did well versus the Cubs. I'd like to see the Sox play the Yankees or Red Sox or some of those teams that usually own the Sox before the playoffs. I'm assuming we play no AL East teams this weird season.
  8. Robert is so good I bet the Sox only need two outfielders out there at one time: Robert and Engel could cover the whole OF by themselves probably. Abreu is so good the guy on here that rips him can't possibly rip him again (I won't see if he does as I ignored him). Tim Anderson wracks up so many multi-hit games it's inconceivable. And Grandal is much better than some critics give him credit for. Also good pitching tonight. If Sox make the playoffs they should try and win it, outscore people. Just as the Twins make it every year and get beat by the Yankees, there's no law that says the Sox can't make it once in a blue moon and win it all as in '05. Don't rip me. I realize the Sox have major flaws and mainly have beaten up on horrific teams and could fall flat on their faces, but they also could stay hot and win it.
  9. 1.Abreu. 2.Anderson. 3.Robert.
  10. Nice play by McCann. All wins are big wins. Nice.
  11. Anybody else in love with Jose Abreu's hitting ability? He's hitting everything they throw at him.
  12. Yeah that probably wasn't one of my better posts. I think my anger at Lopez surfaced. I didn't read the comments close enough if most want him in Schaumberg right away. My bad. I'm kind of bitter about him blowing chunks this season.
  13. Robert has to be the best looking physical athlete the Sox have had since Bo Jackson. If he can stay healthy he's going to produce unbelievable numbers. Eloy and Robert could be McCovey/Mays. Anderson could be best hitting shortstop in team history. Abreu could be beloved legend like Pauley and Frank. Moncada could be 8-time all star if he gets healthy. Grandal could be as important as AJP in postseasons. Note I leave out all pitchers. I think our staff is troublesome.
  14. EE's also was mammoth. Nice win. Great offense and it's nice to beat up on KC. Although Cishek tried to make it more than interesting. If Sox blow that game it might have been one of those games that are looked at as turning points. That last play could have gone either way on replay IMO. But no harm no foul Sox win. 11 runs in the opener of a 4-game series. Hope Sox can keep raking in KC.
  15. I still think fans would be OK if Lopez kept starting. He still is loved by those who would never question a Sox trade. Just my take. He's still fine with the fans.
  16. I like Grandal. I wouldn't give up on him. He still could emerge as a hero on a one or two year WS title team. I'd prefer the combo of Grandal-Collins in the future. McCann deserves to start somewhere so I'd let him walk and I like Collins too. Strangely, the Sox, which have had good starting pitching historically, need a lotta help there, not in the everyday lineup. Grandal is fine.
  17. Again, no reason to panic. This team will hit (though Moncada needs to be healthy and in the lineup) the entire season but also will have some bad games offensively because of new baseball (home run or K). More often than not the squad will hit. I even want EE to remain in the lineup. He will hit. There's still a chance our lousy hitting RF can get it together and hit. The pitching is not good. It should prevent the Sox from going far in the playoffs. Obviously Giolito and Dallas K are capable of leading the staff to greatness; as we saw the other night hopefully just cause of stomach issues, Dallas K is human. Cease is inconsistent right now, certainly no bet to excel. However most teams have the same lousy pitching staffs. Sox have potentially a team that can crush all postseason. Anything is possible but like the originator of the thread said, all teams are flawed.
  18. Only move the Sox could maKe with him now. He's been bad.
  19. Thanks for sharing.
  20. You are the one who is the master poster on here. Your sarcastic paragraphs are epic. Not just average, but A-plus. Your sarcasm is beautiful. I will say even you got me with this one head scratcher, though. I need to use my 29 ACT score brain and try to figure out your motive for this sentence: "You are the lone voice sticking up for the Nancy and Loris of the world who need great hair. We salute you G7!" Now of course I am very upset at Lori and Nancy P for their hair behavior. In my case, it was a matter of 3.5 months with no haircut and greg simply couldn't take it. I decided to include my angst on here and got reamed for it even though I didn't go get a haircut til my shop opened. Guess what? There was a renegade barber in Lawrence I coulda gone to and didn't. Yet NO PRAISE on here for me. Only no soup for me. Also not sure if you meant my presence was welcome on the board. Several members have put me on ignore and I think I have 3 popular posters on ignore. If I had to bet big bucks I'd say more would want me to leave than stay. Which reminds me, where is El Rockin?? Caulfield hasn't been around much either.
  21. He had a heckuva month. Has been a bit off with the glove the last two games but has been strong in all phases so far this season. I love Jose A.
  22. Tom Seaver was like Mark Buehrle. Smooth although he did throw harder than Mark. Seaver was so good even in his advanced age he was damn effective for the White Sox. Rest in peace. He was a true star.
  23. I kept it on in case a position player got to pitch the 8th. ... If Ricky does get fired the new manager WILL be able to speak Spanish. That's going to be important for team morale with a lot of Spanish speaking guys. I can dream about Ozzie but I know he has no chance. Too controversial when he speaks to media. He can't help himself but make headlines the wrong way. ... Eloy had been OK recently on defense until the Minnie series. Ditto Jose. Wat's up with that?
  24. Tough loss. As Stoney said it was winnable. Stuff happens. Worst thing tonight IMO was my guy, Jose's error in dropping the DP throw and the lousy start by Dallas K. Oh well. Can Lopez come through tomorrow?
  25. I think you guys are insane (I say that in a kind way). For some reason I'm supposed to be perfect. Heaven help me cause I moaned and groaned about not being able to get a haircut when my guy, the barber, had a pristine shop and was willing to work with government to make sure everybody saw it was totally safe/clean. I don't know why I'm supposed to be perfect. Hmmm ... Pelosi today caught getting haircut and blowdry indoor salon breaking the rules in SF. ... Lori Lightfoot got haircut in Chicago at time nobody else could. And greg is bad? Crickets.
