Thom Brennaman - ouch!
I would like to be a sensitivity trainer. Mumbo jumbo worth 400,000 to 500,000 bucks a year. For teaching common sense?? Treat all people the way you want you and your family members to be treated. Love one another. Do unto others as you wish they do unto you. Get rid of unkind thoughts. Quit judging others. That should about cover it. Sorry for the rant. I'm not thrilled about training for common sense issues. This world is not about me, me, me. People need to quit being so selfish and think they are perfect and everybody else is not. Brennaman obviously has a problem and will never work in broadcasting again. You don't say that on a hot mic and work in that field again.

What should the Sox do with James McCann?
That's a good point. Could Collins play RF? I think he passes the eye test as a hitter. I hope he doesn't have to wait forever to be a starter. These are the type of guys you trade when you have a Grandal. However ... it could bite you if he emerges as a perennial All-Star.

Sox acquire Nomar Mazara for Steele Walker
This team seems like a good fit for him. This is only his age 25 season. If you study his career stats, they scream "on track to have a nice career." We shall see but I can see why a GM would take a shot with him still. He had 101 RBI his second year in the league.

True. I do like Engle but does he have Gordon's arm?

What about Mazara and some Class A stiff to the Royals for Alex Gordon. We could use the defense for the rest of this season, don't need his bat and they would love to have Mazara I bet. We could put Gordon in LF and Eloy in RF or vice versa. If we keep Mazara I have no problem with that. He seems OK.

What should the Sox do with James McCann?
Grandal is going to be fine. I'd stick him at sixth in the order for the next 4 years. Collins can play the Karkovice role (early in his career when he couldn't gain the starting job) for 4 years.

What should the Sox do with James McCann?
Sox will not pay huge dollars to a backup catcher, thus he has to go. Somebody's going to give him a lot of moolah, though if I owned a team I would wait and see on TV money and COVID's future effect on attendance before signing anybody. Until COVID situation becomes controllable, I don't see how any owner would commit a lot of money to any player.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER
Great win. Eloy. Abreu. Giolito. McCann, etc. Of course Tim. ... And Jose, Mr. RBI. ... Can we finally all agree Jose Abreu is a stud and deserves any money the White Sox are paying him? It's not our money and the man brings it to the ballpark every day. He's passing all tests, including the eye test AGAIN. Great win. I like a 4-game sweep. That's almost impossible if you look at past Sox results in four-game series. Ricky might be our manager a long time if he keeps this up. I'd say we've learned two things so far this season thus shouldn't stress about these things in gamethreads: Just take a deep breath and realize a.) this team is going to hit even if it is not hitting at a particular time in a game and b.) Abreu is a very very good ballplayer and doesn't deserve scorn and c.) RR may make some boneheaded decisions but his ability to communicate with the Spanish speaking ballplayers is important. GO SOX.

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
Seems to me this is an excellent post. Our country has a lot of work to do and I doubt we will survive as a nation because there is no middle ground as you say, and most people don't even want a middle ground or would consider compromise on medical, education and social issues, all three.

McCann has been excellent, but Grandal is a fine addition. I'll enjoy both hopefully then if we lose McCann, so be it. Collins still is a prospect that passes the eye test, granted nothing else so far. But it's possible he's good, too.

8-19 GT: Tigers @ Sox
These types of mistakes amaze me. Once you go on the air for a game you have to turn on your announcer persona and just not even consider a cuss word or slur word. What is he talking about anyway? He seemed to be referring to Kansas City. If we weren't in cancel culture I'd suspend him a month and bring him back, but the way things are now, he's done. He will never work a sporting event again.

OMG. Porn? Racial slurs? This could be national news. You could call the media outlets nationally or locally. Not good.

Not surprising the country can't simply tell the truth about how many cases of corona there are out there. Sad.

I never acted like you do about Abreu in regard to Rios. I despised Rios but that was that season he hit about .150 for a long stretch. Abreu has done nothing to incur wrath except maybe the chewing of tobacco. His traditional numbers are always good; his defense actually is OK (he's not a total sieve over there). Rios I jumped on because of his total ineptitude. I think I did the same to Dunn when he was under .200 most of the season. Abreu's numbers are good. All that said ... nice win tonight. Tim Anderson and Cease stars of game.
