Don’t Fire Frank Menechino Thread
I was gonna start a thread on RR now staying forever but I'll put it in here. Yes, all hail our hitting coach. Whether he's the cause for this or not ... he will benefit from this and be a hero in Chicago and get credit for this best hitting team in Sox history. Deservedly so. Sox are better than anybody in this all or nothing HR or K era. Hitting coach deserves credit. As far as RR, if we finish out September this good, he's probably going to get a well deserved extension. His ability to relate to the players is really all that matters. He speaks the primary language of many of them. Sure we can nitpick a pitching decision here and there, but RR has the right buttons pushed. Players love him apparently and he obviously lets Cooper and the hitting coach run their groups. Just when I think Jose needs a "rest," he gets 4 hits and knocks in 7. RR knows what he's doing. Folks, if we finish this baby with the first or second best record, RR is here for as long as he wants. He's stopped the insane bunting and players love him! (I guess if he somehow plays small ball in the playoffs and returns to the bunt or does something crazy he still could get fired someday, but I don't think he does that; the bunting is over). Go Sox and let's keep winning!

Sox vs Tigers. 9/13 - 1:10
I may be wrong. Anderson may be the MVP. He's so good it's scary. Jose is my guy but geezus Tim Anderson is so good a hitter it's hard to fathom.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Wow. Timmy and Jose. Greg haters have to give me credit for never wavering on Jose and praising him all last season amid some haters who didn't want to pay him. Many didn't want to pay him. If we make the playoffs and Jose is still over .300, he's MVP. His RBI and HR numbers assure that. Not that I have anything against Tim. I just think Jose currently the most important player on this team with Timmy of course right there. GO SOX. GO PITCHING TONIGHT. GO HITTING TONIGHT.

Jake Burger Thread
When did he decide to go to Schaumberg instead of just play in that six-team league? If he is in Schaumberg that means the White Sox still have some hope for him. If that other league was so great they'd have a lot of current MILB players in it. When was the change of heart to put him in Schaumberg?

THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER 9/11/20
No reason for me to take this win for granted. This was a special win. Eloy really came through. It's special to beat a guy who had a no hitter through five. Giolito did a nice job. After all those losses for so many years against the Central, it's tremendous to kick butt. Twins may have Sox number, but who cares right now? Sox won a game in which they got three hits. Great victory. Eloy's home run was epic.

You wait and see how we are going to be printing money in the near future. I won't cause a controversy here by explaining where. If you want to chat about it PM me.

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
We are taking about restaurants and stores. I've been in restaurants eating and there's nobody near me There are waitresses though and the people I'm eating with, never a full cramped table of 4 or anything. This is what confuses me. We're expressing problems with dining and shopping and having 3 in a pew at church, but I haven't sensed any angst about flying. Cmon. You are packed like sardines on planes. How can planes not be a HUGE problem. I still think this is all political and all screwed up about where is 'safe' and where 'isn't.'

AL MVP Race
If the Sox make the playoffs and Jose doesn't fall off the map the rest of the regular season and wind up at .250 or something, I think he'll get it as a lifetime good person/player achievement award. Nobody knows if Jose is going to keep bashing or taper off with a 1 for 30 or something. TA could get it too for his being a young star.

Thanks for your take. It's not ALL up to the individual though if work wants u traveling.

If that's true, he'll play here 15 seasons or more. As long as his defense is stellar.

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
Corona numbers seem to be going down in hotspot Kansas a tad. What's everybody's opinions on travel these days? I'm against it. I feel like no matter what people say, getting on a plane is ridiculously dumb (I don't want to get corona and lose my sense of smell and taste and die). Why? Even if they say it's safe, cmon. People move their masks to eat snacks. People move their masks just like they recline their seats. I feel like no matter what they say, a plane is a corona nightmare. Also, cmon. those overhead bins are dirty. Cmon, the guy in the middle seat is in your face, in your business. Just getting up to deplane you will be next to a zillion people. Then the hotel? Cmon. Germs abound. And the uber? And the rental? All the people u run into on the road? I deem my odds of getting corona following a 4-day road trip at 85 percent. What do u all think? I haven't got it yet .Those of you who believe, please pray for me and all of us to stay healthy. Corona blows.

Second basemen are a dime a dozen. If he can be a supurb fielder and hit .280 with 0 homers and 47 RBIs in a regular season that will be fine. Now if he sucks fielding and does that, he gone. He doesn't ever figure to make big bucks as you say. If he can get one of those 6 year deals right now that teams sometimes give can't miss prospects he'd be smart to do so. Six years, 36 million. He should take it.

Dallas Keuchel leaves game with back injury
Good points but Gonzalez would be a nice veteran bullpen piece for the postseason possibly. There's a chance he could get hot and be a reasonable arm. As a starter, no way you'll get more than 4 innings or 5 out of him.

Dallas Keuchel leaves game with back injury
If the Sox make the playoffs and win it all without Dallas, it'd be the first time a team won it all with such a blah to horrid pitching staff. It'd be all offense and RR would be manager of the century. Dunning and Cease and Giolito have each had sensational moments but as a group should concern no opponent, at least at this stage. The bullpen also is hugely suspect again despite sensational moments.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER
That was an enjoyable win. Too many stars to mention (Dunning baby; McCann baby, Eloy catch, etc). Nice to maul teams like Pitt and KC, etc.

Kansas football has only three positives at this time; how can this be?

Forget the statements. Not going to reprimand a veteran big money guy. Doesn't happen.

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
So sad that almost everything in life is now political. I don't know why people are so fricking obsessed with politics. Yes we know Trump is a very rude rich guy who is a questionable person. So what. Wait four years and vote him out. Forget about politics for a minute and vote him out when it's time. Now it's Covid numbers for politics; it's painting BLM on numerous city streets while no other messages can be printed anywhere ... politics; it's politics politics politics. Sports are now all politics. Social messages on uniforms; BLM all over the arenas. Will they or won't they kneel during the anthem? Sorry for your loss and this ridiculous desire of Americans to say deaths are COVID just to make Trumpie look bad. Please get a grip America. Everything doesn't have to be politically driven, yet it is ... Again sorry you lost your grandpa. Hope there comes a time everybody settles down and we can live in peace and be proud of our country.

And the shift. That first hit was a simple grounder to a normally positioned third baseman.

Face masks are a weird topic. I always wear mine. Seems to me everybody's got them on in my neck of the woods. But then I go on Facebook and see a friend's wedding and nobody's wearing a mask. Perhaps people are only wearing them where they must wear them to get served: stores and restrants.

Dallas Keuchel leaves game with back injury
PTATC is there any way a pitcher can loosen up his back so to speak? Or will he have back problems all season and years to come like many with back problems?

The Good Times
Chicago has overall been pretty spoiled compared to the old days. In modern history, we have the Blackhawk dynasty, the Bulls dynasty, the Sox 05 WS title, the Cubs WS title. That's not bad. The Bears 85 title was the one that busted the city's long long drought. As a city, there have been plenty of parades. Dynasties in hockey and basketball to go with a WS title on both sides of town is pretty good.

The grandal hate is vastly overblown
He's good. I like him.

AND THATS A SWEET ROAD SWEEP WHITE SOX WINNER
I personally think fans need to just accept the face EE and Grandal are both good additions. Case closed. EE has hit some mammoth, important bombs. Sweeps against KC are awesome. I hesitate to b**** much about anything right now Sox related. I mean it's not like EE has been worthless. Ditto Grandal. Even Nomar has not been horrificly bad. Throw in the super human performaces of Tim, Robert and Abreu and don't worry, be happy. And Eloy.

White Sox @ Royals - 9/6/20 - 1:05 CT
I don't mind him. I looked at his career statline weeks ago and it wasn't horrible. Coupled with his age and the way other guys are hitting, he's a prime candidate for "wait and see" rather than burying him. Ultimately he may be rotten but he has not yet annoyed me.
