9/22 - White Sox @ Cleveland: Lopez vs Quantrill
Who the heck is Jose Ruiz and why was he in there offering up meatballs? Fathom woulda homered off that guy IMO.

The time to wake up will be the Cubs series. They have a good team and it should be a prime playoff tuneup and hint of what's to come.

Stone's Throwing of Shade at Ricky
I love Stoney. He's definitely no fan of RR from his Tweets.

Don't lose faith yet. Sox are in a bit of a funk and it's not been that bad. Robert is going to get hot again and Jose is gonna ignite the guys in the postseason. He knows nothing is guaranteed in this game and Sox won't waste at bats in the postseason as many are doing now. Pitching is off, too. We'll see but I think Sox will be OK.

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
I am surprised Trump has not gotten Covid yet. He travels a lot which has to weaken the system a bit, although he probably sleeps well on Air Force One. Or maybe he's one of those rich guys who has never needed much sleep. But you'd think with all the people getting it and him not wearing a mask much, you'd think he'd get it. And at his age it might really hammer him. ... That's why as a cautious Covid person I fluctuate. I'm not crazy about getting on a plane, but then I think I probably should. Then I read about people HAMMERED by Covid and figure I'm better off remaining cautious. (I've been very cautious; I go to church on Sunday in a socially distanced environment with masks and only 30 peeps in there spread all out I do get a haircut once a month; I go to a coffee shop prolly 4 times a week and the shop is distanced with masks but there usually are indeed a good amount of people in there; everybody's masked. I do eat out still and frankly there are less people out dining than are in that coffee shop. Haven't been out with many friends; have not flown; have not atternded any parties or family gatherings. No Covid yet. I do wear my mask all the time and have never broken any rules regarding Covid. I pray I don't get it and pray you all don't get it. Whatever ... I am speechless regarding travel during covid, not sure if it's safe or not. It does feel like life is flying by being cooped up. The one consolation is nothing is allowed right now: can't go to a royals game; can't go to a movie or concert. So evderybody's kinda in the same boat.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER
Who was the color announcer on FOX? He was pretty good. Both seemed to love the White Sox. Not much RR love however. Most for the players.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER
My gosh the Sox are good at the longball. Nomar showed why teams are still giving him chances. He just blasted that home run. Jose's homer was truly majestic, so HIGH in the air, plopping into the seats. Anderson is amazing and Grandal's was a cannon. Also great pitching. No complaints here. Didn't read the game thread. I'm sure it was pointed out Robert, the poor guy, looks lost. I'll never give up on him, but I wonder what he can do to avoid being an easy out. He's an automatic out right now, pitchers owning him. Wonder what he can do to adjust. Great win. Dallas looked good.

Yeah, as long as Sox are winning like this all is good.

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
Baylor-Houston called off; Baylor offensive lineman group all have covid. Florida State coach has it. Sports are going on, but a game can be canceled at any moment. Looks like baseball and NBA have it all under control. Weird.

Oops. Yeah he's taken it pretty hard on the board. I don't see any reason to savage anybody with the team doing well. There always will be some players stinking it up. Until the Sox deserve it, I'd refrain from ripping any player too much. My bad.

There u are, el rockin.... Where u been? Health OK? Or did u just get sick of posting a lot? Congrats on Sox making playoffs. I contend you are the greatest sox fan I've known. Never a mean word.

9/18 White Sox @ Reds at 6:10
I know what you mean about house money, but if Sox win the division, it'd be nice to represent and make the ALCS as a minimum. Get in there and hope we get red hot. Like in '05, Sox made it; might as well win it.

Can't argue with this. Nomar has no pop, either. No home runs. in over 100 at bats. Engel at least is the Sox grinder, the current Rowand. Time to ship Nomar to another team and give him another fresh chance. Maybe the Royals for a reliever? Or to the Royals for Bubba Starling? Trade two guys who need a change of scenery? BTW, I feel so lucky to have Benetti and Stone/tonight Jackson as Sox game callers. My mlb was acting weird freezing up so I put it on the home team crew for the ninth. It took two pitches before the crew moaned and groaned about a ball/strike call. Most announcers spend the whole game moaning about ump calls and blasting the opponent. Sox announcers are not annoying, they are ENTERTAINING. Bad loss tonight. It will happen with the lift and pull, HR or K philosophy throughout baseball. Let's hope Sox continue to have more games where they hit 3-5 home runs than get 3 to 5 total hits. GO SOX! Reds are .500; can they make playoffs?

I don't think Moncada is getting "savaged" on the board. He's taken some heat in game threads. I think most Sox fans realize he's a stud. As far as criticism, when "my team" (the team I follow) has this kind of a record, it's hard to blast anybody. Even EE. I still think he can be valuable in the postseason and already has had a few big hits. Robert ... he may have slumped some but he passes the eye test greatly and also has produced with the bat. I see no reason to freak out about any individual player. I don't even despise Mazura though I am starting to think he simply can't produce. Some guys can't in the bigs. Again, I wouldn't bury him cause before you know it, he could be a postseason hero. Never know. Most of sox players seem to have the ability to get hot.

This is not a good take. You feelings about locker room mentality do not hold water this season because of COVID. MLB and NBA and some other sports are make believe cause of the kind of cash these players make. For a guy to sit out and pass up this kind of money, that in itself means it's serious. His teammates will be fine with him and welcome him back. For one this is the age of COVID .You wanna opt out; you opt out! Second if there are family issues or mental issues you opt out. If anybody complains they are the ones with the problem. As far as him getting a ring if the Sox won it all ... teams give rings to a lot of people. I remember reading some former Chiefs player got a ring in the mail the other day. So no harm in giving MK a ring if Sox win it. Players don't wear those huge rings much anyway; they put them away for keeping in a display box.

Mental issues, if he has them ,are issues. We're taught that all the time. We're taught to prevent suicides by tackling mental issues. Just because it affects your fandom doesn't mean your take on this is correct. He's not a bum if he's taking care of personal problems and mental health. This is being done in society all the time. You have to take care of yourself. That's the No. 1 rule in the world. Take care of yourself and your family falls in line with that as well. You should be sad for yourself if that is your true position.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX PLAYOFF CLINCHING WINNER!!!
I know I'm biased but Jose Abreu!!!! I've watched the replay of an easy ground ball out. Jose beats it out. As far as I'm concerned his beating out that single with no fricking fans in the stands is one of my favorite hits in my White Sox fandom!!! Lot of heroes of course, but Jose Abreu is a superstar in terms of caring.

Sox vs Twins. 9/16 - 7:10
On paper, you bet the house on Minnesota tomorrow. But it's baseball. You never know. Lopez is due to show something.
-
Dallas Keuchel leaves game with back injury
Yes Sox do need to line up Keuchel, then Giolito for games one and two.
-
Dallas Keuchel leaves game with back injury
I don't know why you disagree. Dunning, Giolito and Cease are all excellent prospects but as far as a postseason threesome, they are not exactly money. And Lopez? Tomorrow is a huge game for him. If he gets blasted, I'd suggest shipping him to Schaumberg the rest of the season/postseason and try it again next spring. if he's good? Fine, then he's back in the mix.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!
I really don't care what team we play in this crazy Covid season. I'm just hoping it's fate it's Sox vs. Cubs in WS. If fate/destiny is on our side, it can't be stopped. When I think about pure "baseball," I don't think we can beat Tampa, NYY or Oakland in the playoffs. Sox aren't ready for prime time.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!
Great win. I love how the Twins were acting up in the latter innings, getting mad at the ump and ejected. Frankly it seemed pathetic on their part. Nobody can boss the Sox around anymore. I'd take Eloy and Abreu and Tim and Moncada and huge Robert in a scrap against the Twins. I won't take these wins for granted. All the nice performances including Dunning and Robert and McCann and of course TA and Abreu. Beautiful.

Stone's Throwing of Shade at Ricky
Well, the fact Stone didn't back Ricky there when given a chance means he thinks RR is a bozo. Interesting. I love Stoney though. But I think RR deserves some credit.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!
Great win. Engel with the amazing base hit. Tim Anderson, Abreu, etc. Colome nice job. Great team victory. Have to love the victory.

Stone's Throwing of Shade at Ricky
I doubt they'd be so petty to fire Steve Stone over RR complaints on Twitter. But you are probably right about him thinking Ricky is not a good manager. He's definitely sarcastic in both those tweets mentioned above. Interesting he'd go there. Obviously he's playing with house's money at his age. Obviously he'd be fine if he got canned.
