It's so nice to have this Stoney as the Sox color announcer. He is so 'scared' of Hawk's moods. To get this comfy Stone is awesome and refreshing. I love Stone and this new play by play guy! Hawk is great, but Hawk should be ashamed of himself for being crabby so many nights.

Sox are 6-19 in their last 25. That is very very bad. That is almost impossible to do.

QUOTE (South Sider @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 04:25 AM) Well, it's back to ignoring White Sox baseball I guess. Hopefully I'll see you guys soon, because that will mean they are winning again and it's still not too late in the season. I think it's time for the 'e' word to come out. Robin or somebody on the team has to tell the media this team is an embarrassment to the great city of Chicago. Cause it is that bad. QUOTE (skooch @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 04:34 AM) Two on, nobody out ... trying to work your way back into the game. Once Melky was out, did anyone here in their right mind believe that Lawrie, Shuck, Navarro, and Saladino were going to actually accomplish anything? That is one friggin' sad excuse for a bottom-of-the-order. This lineup has so many holes in it it is mind-boggling. Seriously, it's time to sell, sell, sell. If they give up anything for Bruce or anyone else the entire FO should be sacked. I was so pleasantly surprised and happy at 23-10 that we could win with such a dismal bottom of the order. I didn't really know how it was happening but I was loving it. As far as tonight's game ... this is sad cause I'm starting to think Saladino is just another guy, not the star I hoped he was.

Boy the Sox stink. How in the hell did they go 23-10?? This is one of the worst Sox teams I can ever remember.

QUOTE (Footlongcomiskeydog @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 04:33 PM) It's not a big shock as to why the Sox are struggling against KC, Cleveland, and Detroit. Those 3 teams simply have more talent than the Sox. Cleveland and Detroit much more so. The Sox are just absolutely snake bitten against KC. That KC team has been decimated by injuries this year and they still have the Sox number. You could dress up KC's AAA squad in Royals blue and the Sox would still pee down their leg against them. True dat. Also I firmly believe they "compete" versus us and our team strolls out there and plays it like any other game and normally gets its ass kicked. This is a competitive sport damnit. Compete.

QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 05:59 PM) I think the best way to sum up my feelings PTATC is to say I like baseball but I love the White Sox. And when the Sox are doing poorly baseball has very little appeal for me. I won't watch the playoffs or WS if the White Sox aren't in it. Check that. I will watch the Royals if they are in it to stay abreast of why everybody is so excited, etc. around here. Some people live and breathe White Sox or Cubs baseball in Chicago though. You are kidding yourself if you think people aren't freaking out, screaming, throwing s***, getting drunk when their favorite team loses and/or sucks. To show our family's fandom ... When my dad died I went back home and was minding my own business putting together a photo presentation slide show for my dad's wake, when I saw a White Sox shirt folded up sitting on a chair with pants and shoes, etc. I asked my mom, "What is all this?" My mom said, "those are the clothes your dad will be buried in. Take them to the funeral home please." I exclaimed forcefully at my sibs, not at her necessarily: "Are you crazy? He wasn't on the team. He wasn't an owner of the team. The team made him mad as much as it made him happy! I won't go to the wake if he is buried in that. He was a successful businessman downtown. He had other interests and hobbies. He was big in the church. He wore a tie every day to work where he made millions. No way he'd want to be buried in a White Sox shirt." My mom looked at me like I was crazy but said, "You are right" and she went and got a tie and dress shirt, etc. Some people indeed live and breathe White Sox/Cubs/name their favorite team. It isn't life and death, though. I lose it when the team turns into the buffoonish team that blows six run leads in the ninth inning, etc. Once I know we're not a pennant winning caliber team I tend to calm down again. For some ... of course the White Sox (moreso the Cubs in Chicago) dominate their everyday lives.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 05:50 AM) I know this isn't a celebrity but she is a damn hero. The last known 9/11 search and rescue dog (Bretagne) was put down today. Thanks for posting! I love dogs and I am very appreciative of this dog and brings a tear.

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 01:28 AM) You base your vote off of washed up celebrities... That's why. I beg to differ that that is a flaw. Have you listened to Howard's show on SIRIUS? It's not only funny as f*** (albeit a little dirty) but he is truly the king. He has common sense. Him praising Hillary made me pay attention. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 01:58 AM) Dumb. Anybody can make a good point at anytime. Writing people off because of who you perceive them to be is one thing wrong with America. Wisdom is everywhere if you sit back, shut up and listen for it. Amen Jerksticks! I love people's opinions.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 01:42 AM) AP reports Hillary has enough delegates. Will they still have the California primary if she's got the nomination? If they do have it ... now Hillary has ANOTHER built in laughing point if Bernie wins yet another primary. She'll just laugh and say, "I am the nominee, so in effect, I won today." And she'll brush Bernie off her lapel like the innocent gnat he proved to be. It's also sad cause these reports might keep people home and again harm Bernie's chances. This is such bulls***. It's all fixed. The Democrat higher-ups wanted Hillary, they got Hillary. If I was a Bernie supporter no way in hell I'd support Hillary after this fix-job. it's ridiculous. They made it so tough on Bernie. whatever happened to the Democratic process in the f***ing Democratic party?

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 6, 2016 -> 11:24 PM) I don't know if that is really on him either. He is obviously kind of a laid back guy. Other posters want him screaming and publicly humiliating players when they fail. That would make things worse. They were getting the big hits earlier, and got some big hits in KC onky to blow the leads. Ever since then, offense has been a problem. Melky being gone didn't help, but it isn't like that cost them 3 runs a game. I think they will get rolling again, but it is no secret they need another hitter preferably left handed, but anyone that can provide consistent offense would really help. It seems almost every player goes through so many stretches where they have no business grabbing a bat. It is almost as fascinating as frustrating. It seems the team is full of really streaky guys. Now you know how I felt when I backed Ozzie through thick and thin. Since I loved Ozzie because of 2005 I never turned on him. I hold no emotional ties to any of the hacks running our team now. True Jerry and KW helped us win a title and for that I am grateful, but KW rubs me the wrong way. Like he's very very cocky (true Ozzie was cocky as well). Jerry is OK I guess but our team certainly has rested on its laurels and sucked for the most part since '05 and it's Jerry's organization.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 02:10 AM) Seems like every time the White Sox get swept (or lose three consecutive, in the Indians' series), we keep going in the opposite direction and our opponents use the positive feeling to elevate their level of play. For example, the Tigers are now tied with the White Sox for 3rd place (and technically have the tie-breaker by virtue of head-to-head play) and we finally woke up McCann and Upton, who are continuing to blister the ball tonight. If Brantley's going to be out for even longer and the shoulder won't allow him to hit for any power, the Tigers might be rising to the divisional favorite role if Michael Fulmer can continue pitching so well for a rookie, Verlander's back to 85% of the pitcher he used to be, Zimmerman gets through his injuries and Matt Boyd/Daniel Norris (Jays' trade for Price) can pick up the slack. Because that offense, especially with Upton on one of his streaks, nobody can stop it. Other than the Tigers' bullpen, that is. Well, maybe the Indians, who might have the most balance, overall...that's what it will come down to IMO, Indians' pitching vs. Tigers' hitting. The Royals were 5-1 in their subsequent six games after ripping through the Sox, but they also have lost five in a row now, something they didn't do all of 2015. Cleveland (10-4 overall streak after losing the first game of DH in Chicago), for their part, fell on their faces, losing 3/4 against Baltimore before tearing through the Royals this weekend (play in Seattle now and are just starting a long road streak, like KC)...with a blown game by Ned Yost last Thursday in the series opener carrying all the way over through tonight's loss as all those pesky Piranhas are, not surprisingly, coming back to earth when not facing the White Sox (and Chris Young in the starting rotation giving up more homers, he would break the all-time record by plenty if he even got close to 150 IP). Now we've put Detroit on a roll of their own and given them a needed boost of confidence. It's one thing to go 3-12 in these games. It's quite another to completely revitalize/re-energize our opponents while we deflate ourselves as well as the fanbase. I agree Caulfield. People think I'm crazy but I still contend our Central brethren "get up" for the Sox and the Sox wander onto the field like it's any other game and get their asses kicked. Then, fueled by the momentum of a sweep, our Central brethren keep kicking ass. This just carried over one more series for KC though. They mauled Tampa Bay then crashed. Five losses in a row now. I was telling people I know here that the Royals fans now will have a false sense of security after winning those three bulls*** games against the Sox. I said just cause you beat a horrible team (since Texas series we classify as a horrible team) doesn't mean you are playing well or can overcome all these injuries. Nobody agrees with me, though that teams in the Central get up for the White Sox. I think they do. It's why so many of those teams throw at our hitters, as well. They wanna beat us and usually do. For some reason Minnie is the exception right now.

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 6, 2016 -> 10:43 PM) America is doomed because of people like you greg. Why? Seriously. I am an American true blooded thru and thru. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jun 6, 2016 -> 11:49 PM) What did he say? Because I feel like I'd need 2 weeks straight of electroshock therapy to my testicles to cast a vote for Hillary Clinton. Nothing about that woman is presidential to me. Hopefully David Palmer swoops in as an independent. Well ... first he said he believes in capitalism not socialism, so no to Bernie. I thought Bernie was a Democratic socialist, but Howard believes in capitalism, so again, no Bernie. Then to a report that Trump and Hillary are tied, he said something to the effect of, "Cmon people. The choice is between somebody who has given her whole life basically to public service vs. somebody who is a celebrity who doesn't have much business being in politics." I felt a 'little' better that Howard thinks she'll at least be OK because of her experience.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 6, 2016 -> 10:46 PM) You just don't get it man, these guys are being paid millions to play a kids game. All of them are vastly overpaid! Cmon chw ... nobody including you has ever commented on my assertion that GMs and owners are so stupid. How many times have you seen a team acquire a guy for gazillions of dollars only to try to dump him a year to year and a half later? It's obscene. Just don't sign them in the first place? Just don't pay that kind of money in the first place. Shields is a prime example. SD had to have him for mega millions ... SD had to dump him shortly after.

QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jun 6, 2016 -> 10:26 PM) Please explain. Renteria has been part of this bizarre dysfunctional team this season. Need I say more? He could have helped Robin get this team to compete after the Texas debacle. Robin seems easy going. Where's the Renteria influence? Is he just sitting on the bench waiting to be manager? No. He has a job and the team's results speak for themselves.
-
QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jun 6, 2016 -> 10:16 PM) Who on the Sox do you find as "overpaid and selfish"? I have no proof of this. But because of the team's performance I would say overpaid and selfish are ... Lawrie, Melky, Eaton, Abreu, Frazier and Rollins. I think the bullpen guys are just bad, not selfish. Now I have no proof here, except for the Drake incident and how the "leaders" have done nothing to help this ballclub during it's struggles in losing almost every series in the last 8 series. Pathetic. Prove me wrong.

I feel a 'little' better about Hillary after hearing Howard Stern explain why he's backing her. But that's my only solace right now.

Guy$, Guy$, Guy$ ... Money talks. Flash 5 million or 6 million at Leyland and he'll f***ing come back. Do it now. 3 mill for the rest of this season; 2 years 10 million dollar deal to follow. Just for him to turn the organization around. He will take the money; they all do. If he won't do it, flash a bit more at LaRussa. 4 mill the rest of this season and two years 14 million contract. it's THAT important.
-
QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jun 6, 2016 -> 06:08 PM) I don't understand your point here. You think firing Robin would mean the whole team wouldn't support Renteria as their new manager ? Please, fellow Sox fans, get off the Renteria bandwagon. Please. If he is the interim, keep Robin the rest of the season. Then quietly let Robin fade away with no new contract. Just say no to Renteria.
-
Shields must shake up the locker room! Bunch of overpaid selfish players is my suspicion. Shields turned around the KC Royals. Can he do the same for the Sox?? Maybe. If I were him I'd meet with Sale and discuss, cause Sale is a badass as well. The rest of 'em? Ha. Mental midgets at least IMO.
-
Does anybody else get the feeling Hawk kind of thinks Robin deserves to get the boot? Do you sense it in his reporting/commentary during games? It seems to me Hawk has seen a lot of bad baseball under Robin and knows Robin, though likeable guy, should be shown the door.

QUOTE (hi8is @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 11:50 PM) Anderson in t-minus 2 weeks. When he comes up they should just release Rollins. Sink or swim with Anderson/Saladino. This team has not shown any ability to compete vs. divisional teams not named Minnesota. I'd let Anderson play. I wish we had a young catcher in the minors we could sink or swim with as well. Avila and Navarro? Cmon. Get rid of 'em.
-
QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 05:23 PM) Agreed. Who's to blame for the 23-10 start? That was an anomaly, a fluke. This team is amazingly flawed. Robin does deserve credit for that I guess but it was a mirage. This team can't beat it's brethren in the Central. In fact is a laughingstock in its own division.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 01:05 PM) http://www.dailyherald.com/article/2016060..._medium=twitter The dude has been terrible and it just can't continue. Why is he horses***? He should be in the prime of his career.

Just say NO to Renteria. Give me Leyland. Go beg him for gawdsakes.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 08:27 PM) Let's win on Tuesday and start to climb to the top I wish I could be a fan like you. I just can't. I get too mad at our lack of hitting and Robin being a buffoon. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 08:29 PM) If Shields can win that Wednesday start it could put a charge into this team How do you do it? I know sports aren't life and death and you probably see it as pure entertainment and backing your team. I see the prices they are charging and this crap team and get mad.
