2016 Democratic Thread
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 09:48 PM) HA Goodman has been s***ting out terrible articles for months. That's not a "story," it's the ramblings of an idiot/someone posting clickbait garbage. This criticizing the messenger stuff doesn't cut it. I hope Bernie hangs in there and waits for possible FBI indictment of Hillary. Everybody is worried Trump's election would lead to him being the crazy guy in charge of the nukes. What about Hillary? If we as a country refuse to try her on charges of breaching the nation's security, we are committing the biggest act of treason possible. You can't let people off the hook just because they want to be President. If she's guilty she does not deserve the nation's highest office. And so many Americans for some reason don't care at all to get to the bottom of this.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 09:18 PM) Gregbot still has a ways to go before he passes the Turing test. Why do some of you not care about the email thing at all?? It's not going to go away and hopefully the FBI isn't getting paid off and will do the right thing. My gosh if this was you or me f***ing with the nation's security, we'd be thrown in jail with them throwing away the key. The media refuses to cover the Huffington Post story (so far). What are they gonna do when FBI recommends indictment? Just laugh and say, "She did nothing wrong!"

2016 Democratic Thread
Why in the hell should Bernie Sanders quit now when Hillary Clinton SHOULD and probably will be indicted and NEVER be allowed to run? Hillary is showing naivety thinking her privilege as Wall Street's favorite speaker (her speeches are so damn good she deserves that $250,000) that she thinks she's immune to prosecution?? This is gonna get interesting. hang in there Bernie. Read this!! p.s. Why don't any of you Hillary supporters care about this stuff?? She may be our most despicable candidate EVER. Before you say that is mean or cruel or worthy of banning me, folks she is this close to being in jail for gosh sakes! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/h-a-goodman/...b_10354484.html

White Sox Frustration Thread
That would be cool if we kept this going and truly only posted the mean stuff in here. I'm willing to try it. My god this team pisses me off. 23-10 was so much fun. It looked like this cast of characters, despite a lot of weak holes in the batting order, was going to play great defense and score enough runs to win a ton of close games. And contend and maybe even meet the Cubs in the WS. Our starting pitching was THAT good and our bullpen. Even as much as 23-10 was the way we were playing - non buffoon ball. Not making ridiculous errors and blowing leads. The only Central team we were playing at that early juncture, Minnie, we owned. Then it all turned to total crap thanks to Robin putting Carroll in the Texas game. Who knew we'd have so many mental midgets on the team and a bullpen that only had five good weeks in it. This is one of the worst teams I've ever seen play the game. It remains dead offensively and the pitching now is very very below average. I truly think we're going to get a top three draft pick. Thanks, White Sox, for being this bad this early in the season again. The team is a total embarrassment and has no life.

Mat Latos DFA - Danish called up
Latos was terrible, but Albers and Duke must go, too. Also Rollins and our two catchers blow chunks.

Start with the chairman calling his ballclub 'miserable failures&#
Articles like that do not work. Most people stop reading articles before the end and I'm sure some people think Jerry finally blasted this wretched team. I do agree with the writer's premise. It would make me feel much better as a fan if he called out these horrible, underachieving ballplayers and coaching staff. Maybe after what truly will be an embarrassment. Getting swept at home by an equally awful, flawed KC team.

2016 AL Central catch-all thread
QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 07:00 AM) The Royals broadcast is high on something. They actually said the Royals are defending themselves from being bullied by teams like the White Sox and A's. I heard that as well and couldn't believe it. I mean even in the first series this year they plunked Lawrie the first time he came to bat. Their whole deal is intimidation of the White Sox w/ Hosmer et all screaming at our guys. We lay over and die vs. KC with 3 more L's coming this weekend.

2016 Democratic Thread
I would like an honest answer from you folks. My question, "Was Bernie treated fairly this primary season? Or was he robbed?" My answer to you is he was robbed. CNN declared Hillary the winner before the California primary which is bulls*** considering it cost him California. Why go vote if it's been decided? Also, he's not a fricking socialist, he's a Democratic socialist. We already have socialist aspects to society. He just wants more: free college education, free health care, etc. He is not the lunatic fringe nut the media portrayed him to be. And finally, he was robbed because of the Democrat's ridiculous superdelegate system. All the people Hillary has catered to rewarded her with their support. Of all the great women out there I can't believe she gets the honor of being first female president. My gosh, if the government was more aggressive, the woman LIKELY would be in prison for what she did compared to others who have breached security in government positions. I don't blame Bernie for not quitting. Be Hillary's pest.

Stoney and Jason vs Stoney and Hawk
Hey, Since our team really, truly sucks I'd like to change the subject and ask you if you prefer Stoney and Jason or Stoney and Hawk. I hate to say this cause I worship Hawk, but I like Stoney-Jason better right now. What possibly is Hawk thinking when he watches Stoney and Jason work together? They are joking incessantly and having fun despite the team's horrific play. Is Hawk thinking, "My god, Stone hates me. We never act like we are having fun!" Sometimes Stoney and Hawk joke around, but it's not with the frivolous, energetic nature of the new tandem. So who do you like better? I like Stone/Jason.

Lawrie
Serious question and I'd like specifically Fathom's answer: Is Lawrie any better than Beckham? Pls. answer this.

Robin Ventura should be fired today
Robin survived the debacle in Kansas City in which we lost 3 games late in embarrassing fashion after losing 2 of 3 to KC in the Cell. Now I ask you, of all the low moments during this stretch of s***tiness, can Robin survive if perhaps the WORST thing that's happened to us all year happens this weekend. A pathetic Kansas City team (with no starting pitching and AAA ballplayers adorning the lineup cept for Salvy, Cain, Hosmer and Morales) is going to come in the Cell and sweep us, extending our misery vs. the Central. If we get swept by a KC team that has lost SEVEN in a row is that finally it for Robin? We've played so s***ty against KC that I can't imagine ANYBODY who is not a season ticket holder and I mean ANYBODY buying a walk-up ticket to any of the 3 games. So if we get swept, which I firmly believe we will, will Robin be fired?? Again ... think about what I'm saying. A KC team that has lost SEVEN in a row is about to sweep Chicago in the Cell. is that nuff to get rid of Robin?

Nationals (Scherzer) @ Sox (Shields)
QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:45 AM) The Sox are going to start winning games again. They aren't going to play the next 27 games at 7-20. The thing that's going to happen is they'll play well enough to make some trades that won't make a difference when they ultimately lose to division teams the final 33 games of the season. I don't know about the winning coming. We are not built to win at the Cell. That means a .500 home record at best. Our teams have never played very well on the road so I'd say .500 max at home, 15 below on road means 15 under .500ish record. That is if we somehow play .500 at home.
-
Nationals (Scherzer) @ Sox (Shields)
Guys, you do realize Kansas City is going to come in with a 7 game losing streak and sweep the Sox don't you? That will be the final indignity of this stretch of crappiness. We can't win games in the Cell with a powerless team. Hosmer, Perez, Cain and Morales are enough to beat us 3 in a row.

Nationals (Scherzer) @ Sox (Shields)
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 12:46 AM) I am on board with that. Things are pretty bleak looking in this game but there is always tomorrow El Rockin, where do u live? What do u do for work? I just think u are the best fan ever and would love to learn your life story. You sir are the best fan on this board by far. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 12:47 AM) Who scouts these players for the Sox? Exactly. We need better advance scouts and ones who make trade decisions and free agent decisions. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 12:48 AM) Just because I haven't seen anyone else say it: Erik Johnson would be doing better I don't know how he'll do with San Diego but I wish he'd have had 10 starts in a row rather than the fill in starts in which he proved he couldn't handle. If he sucks he sucks, but I don't think he was used properly here for what it's worth. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 12:56 AM) Are you joking? Padres couldn't even get much for him when offering to pay half his contract. Is Shields better than Peavy? Serious question. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 01:37 AM) I would be shocked if we weren't no hit tonight. Thank God we got all these mentally tough veterans to bring us through the tough times. Exactly. Frazier, Lawrie, Rollins, Melky, even Sale are too quiet. At least say you are embarrassed. Tonight was ridiculous 11-0 and 'cheers' when we get our run. It's like we are the clown princes of baseball. A total joke. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:01 AM) On the plus side, I think this Nats team could dispense the Cubs in October. They look great. I was thinking that that is entirely possible. If any team could do it, it's the Nats IMO.

Nationals (Scherzer) @ Sox (Shields)
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 02:33 AM) Ah the team meeting. Lol This may sound dumb, but there should have been a team meeting right after the choke vs. Texas. At that point we had a GREAT baseball team. Some veteran shoulda said, "I don't want this motherf***ing game to influence us the rest of this f***ing season!! I've seen it hurt teams before! Go to the hotel. Get drunk if you want! Come here tomorrow ready to play!!" Instead, the "book" says you treat all losses the same. Act the same way after wins and losses. Predictably, that ended our season. Can't head things off in baseball. It's a marathon you know.

QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 02:31 AM) And what exactly is there for the fans to be energized about? You left before the fourth inning?? Wow. That is pretty serious stuff. On a summer night? You musta really been disgusted. What's the deal with the concessions closed? What's that about? Tiny crowds?

Nationals (Scherzer) @ Sox (Shields)
I just tuned in. Gonna read thru the thread to see if Shields got roasted here as badly as he did on the mound. You gotta be bleepin me? Lasted two innings? All our scouts need to be fired. It's pretty apparent Shields has little left in his tank. What'd we throw away? 10 mill?

Stanford Sexual Assault case
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 09:42 AM) That possibility exists every night in Colombia, Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia. So best stay away from those countries, Gregster. Too many temptations. I was actually drugged once in Colombia in a bar and I had to be tested to see if the woman had sex with me when I was unconscious, lol. Well, it wasn't so funny at the time because my g/f at the time found out I was with another girl and it was a big scandal in our apartment complex. Plus my g/f was a professional masseuse, so that was the end of that. Luckily, she only took about $40 in cash and left all my credit and bank cards, driver's license, passport/visa, etc. Could have been worse. Some guys had their cars/trucks stolen by the same group who were lacing drinks in bars throughout that region of the country. That is crazy that you got drugged. Scary.

2016 Republican Thread
Limbaugh says Trump will win in a landslide. This is interesting talk. is it true? Is Donald Trump our next president? The wild thing is if that is true, Hillary still could run and win in four years. Trump almost certainly won't get re-elected and Hillary would definitely win in 2020. That would be the wildest scenario. I'm serious here. Please comment on my point. It truly would be EASY for Hillary in 2020 if the scenario happens that Trump wins. OK, provided he doesn't get impeached and runs again, nobody, not even most Republicans would vote for more of Trump. We'll be so sick of him in four years. Hillary, meanwhile, has no Bernie trying to annoy her. She is the hailed Democrat nominee, wins in a landslide and she makes history this time without even sweating. So either way ... Trump would just be delaying the inevitable for four years.

2016 Democratic Thread
Glad to read Bernie supporters and Bernie will not give up. They are furious at the media for declaring Hillary the winner before the California primary. Of course that hurt Bernie. Why go out of your way to vote if she's already got the nomination? Can you imagine eight years of Hillary that are coming? There is no way in hell she is going to get ANYTHING passed. So we just have to hope things get no worse than they are now cause nothing good will be happening. The Congress despises her and won't pass a thing.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 04:27 AM) http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/16031510...entura-plunking Lawrie vs. Ventura, The Rematch, on Sunday. Will be interesting to see if he appeals, and how many games both he and Machado get from the Commissioner's Office. Reading Yost's comments, it's almost like he's hoping this situation will spark some life back into KC again... http://www.kansascity.com/sports/spt-colum....html#wgt=blogs Ventura taking a beating on social media. Rightfully so, you risk ending the career of one of the five best players in MLB. We've got to play these guys again? Can you imagine if KC sweeps us and we right their ship AGAIN? Crazy.

Stanford Sexual Assault case
I do not want any applause for what I am about to share. I am appalled by this case and the verdict of course. My best wishes to the victim. Sad what she had to go through! I'd like to ask all of you if you ever were in a similar situation. I was in college and at the bar drinking what they call schooners of beer here. It's like 3 beers in one. I probably had 3 of em and was pretty buzzed. I wasn't driving. My roommate was. At the bar I started talking to some girl and my friend started talking to her friend. After the bar closed, my roommate drove us to their dorm and we went up to their respective rooms. I had decided to pick up this girl, ostensibly for a college one-nighter even though I didn't think she was that cute/hot, whatever. But I had decided to go for it as she made it clear I could pick her up. Anyhow, we get to her room and a delayed drunkenness hit her hard. She was all woozy and basically passing out. She was kind of continuing to flirt. My brain (thanks, Mom and Dad for raising me right) immediately said, 'well that's that, no sex tonight.' I put her in her bed, put her blanket on her, said goodbye and put a garbage bin next to her bed, exited her room, and somehow located my friend and busted up his tryst so he could drive me home. He was pissed of course. I think his 'date' ended up coming with us, lol. I never ever considered taking advantage of somebody in a drunken stupor/passed out. It turned out she was a little sister to our frat and at our next function she had a friend come up to me and say how much her friend appreciated my behavior and how she was too embarrassed to thank me. Her friend told me she wanted me to ask her out. I never did. Have any of you had similar situations in college where your 'date' or 'pick up' was passed out like that? How did you handle it?

Why are we still sending Matt Albers out there?
He's been humbled, but more than that, Humber-ed. As good as he was for a month, he's worse than that by 10 times now. He should throw BP for us. It might help our hitters get their acts together. Man, he's bad.
