  1. I hope everybody is patient with Anderson, including people like myself. Don't pull an Eric Johnson with his development and send him down if he goes 1 for 35. Just let him play. It's a rebuilding year for us now anyway as this team just isn't good enough to make the playoffs. So just let him play a couple months. I'd actually give him a day or two off per week and let Saladino play ss 2 days a week and second base two days a week. Sit Lawrie some. He's not exactly a good hitter, either. Whether you like the decision or not fans, to rush Anderson, be patient and let him suck a while. Again, the team is nothing.
  2. Cut Rollins now. Go with Saladino and see what we've got. If he sucks, who cares? Release him in September if he blows. Rollins needs to start his coaching career.
  3. L L L Duffy is good now. So better win Game One or Two cause we ain't winning No. 3.
  4. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 04:56 AM) Seaver won 15 games both seasons with an ERA if I remember of under 3.5 and he pitched a ton of innings. There was nothing broken down about him at all with the Sox. Mark Seaver was effective. He just lost it after six, seven innings some times. I think he had several six inning no hitters, then boom. But he was good as a White Sox. I think they traded him to a contender for his final hurrah.
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 02:50 AM) Albers DFA'ed. Burdi added to the active roster. Thank goodness. Can you believe the Albers story? All those scoreless innings and all that praise and love in April. Eight weeks later, bye bye from all of baseball cause he's so so bad. He ought to go to a personal trainer, lose 15 pounds and try it again with SOME OTHER TEAM.
  6. Even though we FINALLY have Sale and Q opening up a 'big' series, I'm thinking Greg should not watch this series lest I blow a gasket. Maybe I'll suck it up and watch while expecting us to lose and not go crazy. It seems to me Sale has been throwing a lot of pitches lately. You know, the Royals don't like to draw walks (except against the Sox ... seriously check their BB stats before that last 3 game series in KC). I'd suggest throwing strikes but you better not throw STRAIGHT fastballs to their Big 5 (Hosmer, Cain, Morales, Perez and Orlando). If fastball isn't moving, figure something else out. They will hit home runs in the Cell again if we throw straight fastballs.
  7. We get five hits but we win. Finally. This actually was our winning formula earlier in the year. It's unhealthy to just get five hits, of course, but it was enough. Actually our only hope of having a productive bullpen now appears to be what happened tonight. Nate has to suck it up and emerge as a consistent four out guy late in games we happen to lead. And Robertson has to get the save. The other relievers, it'd be nice if they could suck it up and get an out if Robin calls on them. Frankly tonight's game feels like one of those 60 you are going to win in a season no matter what. I'll take it though. That line smash to end the game ties the game if Melky doesn't get a proper read on it. Thanks, Melky. Now ... gulp, the Royals come to town with a 7-game losing streak. Let the craziness begin. If we actually had some brass balls, we'd sweep them and suddenly have a 4-game win streak and they'd have a 10-game losing streak. However ... those that know me KNOW my prediction is KC 3 games, Chicago no games. That actually 'might' get Robin fired after Hahn's statements today. GO SOX! It seems like I hate them but my 100 dollar mlb.com subscription says otherwise.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 11:22 PM) Yeah, I have to say, the fact that the outrage machine has been pretty universally in high gear shows that while a singular judge might have made a mistake, the general public didn't. Even if it isn't in prison, this kid's life is over. It truly is over. He has to register as a sex offender. This means he'll never hold a full time job. How do people like that survive? You have to have some sort of income to live.
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 10:46 PM) Greg, you do realize that Trump will win KS regardless of what you do or say?...Missouri, as always, is where it gets much more interesting from a political standpoint. Of course. Barry Crimmins, the GREAT comic endorsed by Louis CK, addressed this line of response, though, at his excellent show Saturday in town here. He said when he blasts Hillary to people they scream, "So you are going to vote for Trump??" His answer, "No I'd rather be (I forget the actual joke here it was something like castrated) before I'd vote for a Republican." Just cause I despise Hillary doesn't mean I'll vote for Trump. I'm going to write somebody in as write in. Probably Howard Stern. Yes I'll make it a mockery. p.s. Kansas re-elected Brownback because of the R next to his name. And guess what? Even though he has ruined this state and made this state the laughingstock of this country and continues to decimate this state, if there was re-election tomorrow, he'd win again. As disgusting as that sounds, he would, because of the R by his name. This means the state of Kansas actually may be the most disgusting or at least the most unintelligent of all states. Think about what I said. The worst government official in the history of the USA would be re-elected in Kansas tomorrow if there were an election just cause he's Republican. WOW. I'm seriously considering moving to Nevada over this.
  10. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 12:13 AM) User Actions Following Scot Gregor ‏@scotgregor Hahn on Ventura's status: "I don't think you've ever seen me telegraph any move." #WhiteSox Not exactly a ringing endorsement Wow. Is that all he said, or one Tweet of the best comment of a long interview? Bush league to not print the whole article. But that single comment taken alone means Robin is GONE.
  11. I will forever be grateful to everybody involved with the 2005 team. s*** they won me (and all fans) a WS. At least we have that forever. "Everybody" includes Jerry and Kenny. Thank you. However ... as much as I hate to say it, that season does appear to be a lightning in a bottle fluke. I thought we were going to dominate the division a long time. Instead we flailed around and now during the Robin era we're a flat out embarrassment of an organization. Argue all you want, but any discussion about the dopes in our front office, and our sub-par owner, has to include a thank you for 05.
  12. I love how ONE MILLION DOLLARS is nothing anymore in sports. Damn I wish I could stumble my way into ONE MILLION DOLLARS. It reminds me of the Stooges episode where Shemp is counting money. "One hundred, one hundred, one hundred, 20. How'd this 20 get in here?" Crumbles it up and throws it on the ground, all three pause then dive on the 20. One million bucks is nada like u said.
  13. One of my friends has a 25 year old daughter living at home with no prospects of moving out cause she can't find a good job. I do feel the pain of Millenials in a lot of ways. They are inheriting a work force that a.) does not want to pay them medical benefits. b.) that does not want to ever give them performance bonuses or heaven forbid, raises in pay according to merit. c.) that requires overtime with no overtime pay, basically threatening them with termination if they don't play along and do the work for no extra pay and finally d.) they are the generation that in college was expected to do unpaid internships which should be illegal. If somebody does work, they deserve pay. So I ask ... can we blame Millenials for moving back in with mom and dad? Are there any hope for millenials that don't become doctors in terms of them ever making a fair, decent buck? Best wishes to all new grads BTW and best of luck in finding suitable employment! Also I would like to ask those Soxtalkers who have a say in management of their companies ... do you have unpaid internships and what is your justification for having kids come in and work for NO PAY? Unpaid internships anger me beyond no end. Pay The Worker, don't hide behind the fact it's an internship.
  14. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 09:48 PM) HA Goodman has been s***ting out terrible articles for months. That's not a "story," it's the ramblings of an idiot/someone posting clickbait garbage. This criticizing the messenger stuff doesn't cut it. I hope Bernie hangs in there and waits for possible FBI indictment of Hillary. Everybody is worried Trump's election would lead to him being the crazy guy in charge of the nukes. What about Hillary? If we as a country refuse to try her on charges of breaching the nation's security, we are committing the biggest act of treason possible. You can't let people off the hook just because they want to be President. If she's guilty she does not deserve the nation's highest office. And so many Americans for some reason don't care at all to get to the bottom of this.
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 09:18 PM) Gregbot still has a ways to go before he passes the Turing test. Why do some of you not care about the email thing at all?? It's not going to go away and hopefully the FBI isn't getting paid off and will do the right thing. My gosh if this was you or me f***ing with the nation's security, we'd be thrown in jail with them throwing away the key. The media refuses to cover the Huffington Post story (so far). What are they gonna do when FBI recommends indictment? Just laugh and say, "She did nothing wrong!"
  16. Why in the hell should Bernie Sanders quit now when Hillary Clinton SHOULD and probably will be indicted and NEVER be allowed to run? Hillary is showing naivety thinking her privilege as Wall Street's favorite speaker (her speeches are so damn good she deserves that $250,000) that she thinks she's immune to prosecution?? This is gonna get interesting. hang in there Bernie. Read this!! p.s. Why don't any of you Hillary supporters care about this stuff?? She may be our most despicable candidate EVER. Before you say that is mean or cruel or worthy of banning me, folks she is this close to being in jail for gosh sakes! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/h-a-goodman/...b_10354484.html
  17. I like it. What's he been doing?
  18. That would be cool if we kept this going and truly only posted the mean stuff in here. I'm willing to try it. My god this team pisses me off. 23-10 was so much fun. It looked like this cast of characters, despite a lot of weak holes in the batting order, was going to play great defense and score enough runs to win a ton of close games. And contend and maybe even meet the Cubs in the WS. Our starting pitching was THAT good and our bullpen. Even as much as 23-10 was the way we were playing - non buffoon ball. Not making ridiculous errors and blowing leads. The only Central team we were playing at that early juncture, Minnie, we owned. Then it all turned to total crap thanks to Robin putting Carroll in the Texas game. Who knew we'd have so many mental midgets on the team and a bullpen that only had five good weeks in it. This is one of the worst teams I've ever seen play the game. It remains dead offensively and the pitching now is very very below average. I truly think we're going to get a top three draft pick. Thanks, White Sox, for being this bad this early in the season again. The team is a total embarrassment and has no life.
  19. Latos was terrible, but Albers and Duke must go, too. Also Rollins and our two catchers blow chunks.
  20. Articles like that do not work. Most people stop reading articles before the end and I'm sure some people think Jerry finally blasted this wretched team. I do agree with the writer's premise. It would make me feel much better as a fan if he called out these horrible, underachieving ballplayers and coaching staff. Maybe after what truly will be an embarrassment. Getting swept at home by an equally awful, flawed KC team.
  21. QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 07:00 AM) The Royals broadcast is high on something. They actually said the Royals are defending themselves from being bullied by teams like the White Sox and A's. I heard that as well and couldn't believe it. I mean even in the first series this year they plunked Lawrie the first time he came to bat. Their whole deal is intimidation of the White Sox w/ Hosmer et all screaming at our guys. We lay over and die vs. KC with 3 more L's coming this weekend.
  22. I would like an honest answer from you folks. My question, "Was Bernie treated fairly this primary season? Or was he robbed?" My answer to you is he was robbed. CNN declared Hillary the winner before the California primary which is bulls*** considering it cost him California. Why go vote if it's been decided? Also, he's not a fricking socialist, he's a Democratic socialist. We already have socialist aspects to society. He just wants more: free college education, free health care, etc. He is not the lunatic fringe nut the media portrayed him to be. And finally, he was robbed because of the Democrat's ridiculous superdelegate system. All the people Hillary has catered to rewarded her with their support. Of all the great women out there I can't believe she gets the honor of being first female president. My gosh, if the government was more aggressive, the woman LIKELY would be in prison for what she did compared to others who have breached security in government positions. I don't blame Bernie for not quitting. Be Hillary's pest.
  23. Hey, Since our team really, truly sucks I'd like to change the subject and ask you if you prefer Stoney and Jason or Stoney and Hawk. I hate to say this cause I worship Hawk, but I like Stoney-Jason better right now. What possibly is Hawk thinking when he watches Stoney and Jason work together? They are joking incessantly and having fun despite the team's horrific play. Is Hawk thinking, "My god, Stone hates me. We never act like we are having fun!" Sometimes Stoney and Hawk joke around, but it's not with the frivolous, energetic nature of the new tandem. So who do you like better? I like Stone/Jason.
  24. greg775 replied to Jake's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Serious question and I'd like specifically Fathom's answer: Is Lawrie any better than Beckham? Pls. answer this.
  25. Robin survived the debacle in Kansas City in which we lost 3 games late in embarrassing fashion after losing 2 of 3 to KC in the Cell. Now I ask you, of all the low moments during this stretch of s***tiness, can Robin survive if perhaps the WORST thing that's happened to us all year happens this weekend. A pathetic Kansas City team (with no starting pitching and AAA ballplayers adorning the lineup cept for Salvy, Cain, Hosmer and Morales) is going to come in the Cell and sweep us, extending our misery vs. the Central. If we get swept by a KC team that has lost SEVEN in a row is that finally it for Robin? We've played so s***ty against KC that I can't imagine ANYBODY who is not a season ticket holder and I mean ANYBODY buying a walk-up ticket to any of the 3 games. So if we get swept, which I firmly believe we will, will Robin be fired?? Again ... think about what I'm saying. A KC team that has lost SEVEN in a row is about to sweep Chicago in the Cell. is that nuff to get rid of Robin?
