  1. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 15, 2016 -> 06:20 AM) OMFG, yes Greg. So many yes's that I don't even know how to pluralize it, so I'll just give you 100 more "YES's" YESx100 I love this story. Thank u, sir. I'm tellin ya, bachelor parties can be nightmares! Overall going to a Sox game with the wedding party and one's kids is not a bad bachelor party considering what COULD happen.
  2. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 15, 2016 -> 05:11 AM) that's funny greg, you were stating before how Renteria won't matter... why did you change your tune? I've given up frankly and resigned myself to the fact it's Renteria. I don't want Renteria still; I want Leyland or LaRussa and believe enough $$$ would do it. But if it must be Renteria, I have to accept it. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jun 15, 2016 -> 05:39 AM) Saladino has done nothing but play his ass off for the Sox and is improving. No clown shows from him. He should play every day. Better odds though of Sox dumping him as part of a "package that won't hurt our future" for yet another decliner. Great point! He will be a throw in in a trade. Saladino rocks! QUOTE (hi8is @ Jun 15, 2016 -> 06:02 AM) I wonder what our "should have won" win / loss record is... Like if you actually accounted for botched plays, bad management calls, etc. Probably like 15 over .500 Great question. You are right I believe.
  3. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 07:39 PM) I don't think there's any set way a bachelor party is supposed to be. When I was in NOLA a few years back we went to a strip club every night we were there but I've also done the party bus and baseball game route, bar crawl, etc. This upcoming weekend we're just doing golf, bar crawl and renting a pontoon for the weekend. And I'm sure when I go back to NOLA in August we'll be back at the strip clubs almost every day. As long as you had a good time I wouldn't worry about what you think you should be doing. Exactly. What are New Orleans strip clubs like? I heard the ones on that major street, Bourbon Street, are real ripoffs. And there are 5-6 of 'em. They try to fleece you for $$$ and do nothing in return. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 15, 2016 -> 02:59 AM) Grow up. You're marrying a woman who's likely way better than some dirty strippers. Again, grow up. Kudos to your best man. LOL. You are a bit harsh on him but yes, your best man is cool. A ballgame would be a good bachelor party. Hell if you want another mini BP go to a strip club two nights before the wedding. Not the night before. But don't tell the strippers its your bachelor party for reasons already mentioned. I'd love some horror stories of wedding/bachelor parties. I've been best man for several guys and we always did the strip club thing to end the night but I'm proud to say no aggression from the strippers. It's kind of fun when the strippers have 10-20 guys to pick from. Can be a fun time. The bachelor party in Vegas I referred to included some guys with real $$$. My buddy is from Dallas and I was one of the KC area contingent to meet. Well one rich guy rented a limo and we get on the limo and there are girls in there, strippers. Two of the guys stayed on the limo when we got to the club and paid for services. It was when Crazy Horse Too in Vegas was THE fun place to go. You walk in and there was a big vat of beer with strippers selling it. Instead of having to go to the bar or have waitresses all the time. I knew right away this was gonna be fun. Ice cold beer for regular bar prices, not 11 bucks or something cause it's a strip club. It was like 3 bucks a beer. Zillions of girls in the club. Most of em Vegas gorgeous. Like I said, these guys had $$$ so we had a ton of girls to pick from. My bachelor party horror story was a guy in Lawrence was getting married. I was a bit older than most of the participants but I was in his wedding so I went to the bachelor party. It was in a strip club. Yes Lawrence has a few lame strip clubs. Well this groom to be got s***faced, so drunk. I wasn't even drinking and there weren't many strippers. So the party ends when the groom to be pukes. All his "friends" leave the strip club, flee the strip club and I tipped the staff for cleaning up his puke. So the groom didn't drive there. I had to drive him to his place where his fiancee greets us as I carry him to the door. She screams at me for doing this to him. I told her politely I didn't do it I'm just delivering him home as he couldn't move. Anyhow the next night at the rehearsal dinner, his dad was a butcher and we had the BEST STEAKS ever. The groom to be STILL was sick and couldn't eat the steak. I'm telling you if you like meat, it was the best steak EVER. Huge and perfection. Some of the stodgier aunts and uncles kind of didn't understand why the groom to be couldn't eat his steak. It was still kind of uncomfortable. The next day was the wedding and he STILL was a bit sick. He couldn't drink at his own wedding and his appetite had barely come back! Never have the bachelor party THAT close to the wedding day. I've also heard of bachelor parties where the groom gets so drunk they put him on a train and he didn't know where the hell he was when he woke up. He was like 600 miles from home and barely made it back for the wedding.
  4. Firing Robin tomorrow, at least we'll be giving Renteria time (in theory) to win the division. We have plenty of games left versus KC, et. all. Fire him now before Renteria takes over a team too many games out to win it.
  5. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Jun 15, 2016 -> 04:59 AM) Team should win each game they score more than 5 runs. Oh well. Take the series tomorrow. If they lose it, hopefully Robin will be fired. Only one more game in the Robin era. Hopefully they'll offer him a job as special assistant. Sox deserved to lose pitching the guy they pitched. Gonzalez is not a big leaguer.
  6. Our Central opponents have us scouted so well they even know where to shade Anderson defensively. Hit it right where the defense was.
  7. Saladino can sit no longer!!! He has brass balls as they say. He can hit the fricking ball! Play him. DH him. It's ridiculous to let a guy who can hit rot on the bench. Our lineup BLOWS. Free Saladino.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 15, 2016 -> 04:36 AM) DJ lighting into Ausmus for having Romine bunt against a LHP when he's a RHB with a 4 run lead in the 9th... Doesn't think it's the way baseball should be played...or at least used to be played. Obviously, the Tigers blew a huge lead last night but the feeling of this game is quite a bit different with the Sox not scoring for the last three innings instead of creeping closer and closer. I like DJ, but shut up. Four run lead is nothing.
  9. Kinsler is a real ballplayer. A real hitter. A real Rowand. Laugh all you want but we need Rowands.
  10. QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Jun 15, 2016 -> 03:49 AM) Shuck should be playing RF until Ajax returns (or until we trade for a better option) and Avi should be DHing. Yeah, I know that it's frustrating seeing Shuck and Coats in the lineup so often, but that's what happens when injuries occur and your GM has traded away your only ML-ready young outfielder. DHing Saladino is the last thing that the Sox should be doing. It bugs me that one of our better hitters, Saladino, is sitting most every day. He should be getting MLB at bats. Shuck bothers me. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 15, 2016 -> 03:51 AM) Just send Avi down, admit your mistakes and pray he can turn it around playing everyday. Amen, brother! Avi's days as a Sox should be Beckham-ed. QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Jun 15, 2016 -> 03:54 AM) You seem to think that Saladino is an offensive upgrade over Shuck, and he's really not. Shuck blows. I hate to say it but he is another Teahen.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 15, 2016 -> 03:22 AM) Why would you DH your second best defensive player Well frankly I was gonna ask for him to replace Lawrie at 2B but I figured I'd get fried on here. There's nowhere else for Saladino since we got Anderson now.
  12. Detroit did what good teams do tonight. They responded to yesterday's choke job with a lotta runs and some fight. You know how the Sox responded to the Texas disaster ...
  13. Now that we have Anderson, would any of you be for Saladino everyday DH? We need his bat in this gawdawful lineup.
  14. I hope Anderson learns how to draw some walks. He's a rather free swinger.
  15. Can Saladino play right field? I'd love to get him some more at bats. Right field?
  16. I love Saladino. 10-5.
  17. I don't know why we cut Danks if we're trotting stiffs like this to the mound. What a pathetic start tonight.
  18. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 08:16 PM) i got some lap dances, called me up on stage, but there was no beating up, whipping, or humiliation You got very lucky. My buddy and I were in Vegas for his bachelor party and we went to a strip club with 25 guys and everybody knew it was his bachelor party. He told everybody he would run out of the club and leave everybody for the night if they called him on stage. We've been to too many bachelor parties where the bachelor goes up to the stage. They've ruined guy's clothes, stripped him to his underwear and ripped up clothes. Painted people all over with lipstick. Like I said one guy got beat pretty badly with his belt. My buddy's bachelor party was amazing since everybody agreed to not call him to the stage. We all spent a fortune. Several married guys were gone for the night in the back room with the strippers, spending thousands. I always thought how stupid that is. To pay a strippper a couple thousand bucks is insane but I've seen it done. At my buddy's party I told him if he had to sprint out the door I'd meet him and we'd take a cab to another strip club or go back to gambling if we had to. I told him not to worry I wouldn't let him get tied up and whipped by strippers.
  19. Sox are so dysfuctional. They are gonna let Shields go out turn after turn and pitch way worse than Erik J would have. Dumb. Erik never had a fair chance here. Shields blows. He's worse than Danks.
  20. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 01:59 PM) NPR had a story yesterday on the shooter's father. He seems a bit nutty and is obsessed with the Afghan/Pakistan border (long-running border dispute, apparently). His political concerns seem to be entirely centered around that border dispute and not religiously motivated, and he believes himself to be the head of some sort of provisional Afghan government. The dad wasn't sensitive enough to what has happened. 50 people massacred! I read today how he had so much ammo that he would shoot people and return to put more bullets in them to make sure they were dead. Horrifying stuff and this dad is talking politics. f*** him. Show some compassion. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 03:00 PM) http://www.cnn.com/2016/06/14/us/orlando-s...teen/index.html Greg, how would your feelings have changed if Walt Disney World had been attacked instead of Pulse? I'd feel terrible as well. I mean it's going to happen in a sports arena and it's going to be so ugly and the end of sports as we know it. All it would take it gunmen storming each exit and firing away. Thousands dead. We are at war, folks, but we have to be too PC. It's sad when it's a major step just calling it "radical" Islam finally. We are at war. And if the wife knew, she better serve the rest of her days in prison.
  21. Look at the bright side. Strippers would have called u on stage n basically beat u up or whipped u with your belt or tore clothes U missed nothing. Any horror stories out there?
  22. Your premise is the Royals are doing something special. They have sucked, only rescued by their wins over the Sox putting them back on the right track twice now! They'll be back in the gutter soon, caulfield.
  23. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 02:59 AM) It still bothers me that I live in a country where a guy like Trump is a top 2 choice for president. It bothers me that Trump is one of the top two and the other is a person who in my opinion should be in jail for putting our country's security at risk. Both are horrific candidates, equally bad IMO.
  24. Bless Anderson Cooper. He knows the humanity of this. It's real. They are more than names. They are people! Killed by a maniac with guns!! Everybody should read this CNN report. The horror of this poor guy who texted his mom n died. The report ... For three harrowing hours, as Omar Mateen carried out his rampage inside the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, clubgoers hid in bathrooms, in air-conditioning vents, under tables. Helpless, trapped, shocked and scared, they texted their loved ones, pleading for help. One person whose story has really touched peoples' hearts is that of Eddie Jamoldroy Justice. Justice, a 30-year-old accountant, sought shelter in the bathroom from where he texted his mom: Mommy I love you In club they shooting Trapp in bathroom Call police Im gonna die His mother, Mina Justice, tried to reassure him that she'd called 911 and help was coming: Calling them now. U still there? Answer your phone. Call me. Call me. Justice replied: Call them mommy Now Im still in the bathroom Hes coming Im going to die He then went silent. He was among the 49 who didn't make it. How can any human being stalk people and kill them all? This guy was all over the place. Going into the bathrooms?? f***ing devil.
  25. They'll never trade Wiggins. Too risky that he's the next big thing. Trade will never get done cause Bulls will demand Wiggins be included IMO.
