  1. If you are THIS bad at your job and your boss won't fire you, couldn't you at least consider resigning? All this losing can't be much fun. Robin has to be set for life financially. If he's not I do not know how that would be possible.

I wish somebody besides us fans would use the word "embarrassed." This team is so bad it truly is embarrassing. It's kind of an insult to fans to think they should spend their money on this crap. I mean you go to a game and there's a good chance the Sox will get five hits or less. If you are lucky they might somehow score a run or two. This is really truly embarrassing.
  3. This may sound dumb but will Shields retire if he has another ridiculous start or two? I mean cmon. He's WAY worse than Danks. He's actually worse than Latos. Will he retire? It's not out of the realm of possibility he's done. The amount of money he makes is kind of inconsequential right now. I mean he can't get anybody out in the big leagues. Would he agree to a month-long minor league rest/rehab? I want him the hell off the MLB roster.
  4. I know I know soxtalkers. These are all lies. Even though this Secret Service agent testified in the Lewinsky case and was the last line between the door of the oval office and Bill Clinton. These are all lies. The author of the book made it all up about Clinton running the White House like a brothel and Hillary being a not so likeable person. The guy is risking lawsuits and releasing this book. But it's all lies and Bill and Hillary deserve to be White House residents the next 8 years. http://nypost.com/2016/06/18/monica-lewins...cheated-on-her/
  5. We're the patsies of the Central. Sox are officially a clown team. They've been the worst team in baseball for over a month now. They're not going anywhere. Time to start a huge rebuild/reload. No need to fire Robin now but work on a manager for next season while trading off everybody except Sale and Quintana and Abreu, same scenario as after last season. Trade everybody you can besides those 3.
  6. Well, it's been a week so the Orlando shooting story has maxed out. Everybody knows everything about the killer; all the stories have been told; all the vigils have been held. In other words, rinse and repeat is coming. This story is done for now, unless the wife gets charged with something. Now we move onto the next. Nobody knows where it will take place or when, but we know one thing, it's coming cause nothing has changed or ever will change. Only thing that's happening is those planning the attacks are doing so even as we speak.
  7. Have any of you noticed how s***ty the Sox have been since Buehrle left town? Hmmm. Maybe we miss that class act in more ways than one.
  8. QUOTE (Tony @ Jun 17, 2016 -> 11:51 PM) Being nice.......yes, you are incredibly off base. Religion is not part of my life. Probably never will be. In fact, if I ever do get married it probably won't be in a church. I don't have anything against religion, it just isn't something I value. With that said, I have never cheated on a significant other, and that has nothing has to do with faith or religion. It's about being a good person. And being a good person doesn't have anything to do with faith or religion. I guess I've just known a ton of people who cheat and all the ones who do never pray, don't believe in God. The ones who don't cheat go to church together, pray together.
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 18, 2016 -> 05:37 AM) As Stone said, if he got it down, with the defensive positioning at that time...it was a sure run. But yeah, it put him down in the hole 0-2 and that was all she wrote. And Frazier continues to be a dead zone in the line-up. I don't know how guys miss on so many bunt attempts. I just wish our guys would stop bunting until further notice.
  10. Yost was getting credit around here the other day for pitching Herrera and Davis 3 straight days. I think it was the first game or the middle game of their sweep of Cleveland. Asked why he did it, Yost admitted it was a "big game" and a big swing in the standings when you lose to a first place Central Division team. Nothing wrong with a manager "admitting" a series is big. The White Sox chug into every series doing their "season is a marathon" thing and get owned by almost every other Central squad. It's really getting pathetic to watch us lose most games to Central squads. Can hardly believe we took 2 of 3 from Detroit recently.
  11. QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Jun 18, 2016 -> 05:09 AM) I think that's probably the case. It's uncanny how many runners the Sox leave on base. Looked like we were going to steal this game late for Q, but they stranded Avi after his clutch hit. Not sure why Anderson was trying to bunt for a hit instead of concentrating on bashing a single to give the Sox the lead. This series has the feel of an easy Cleveland sweep.
  12. Nothing unusual about that game. Pretty predictable. Q can't ever get run support. It's almost unbelievable. Stranding the runner at second with one out in the ninth ... you knew a good team like the Indians would win it at home in the bottom of the inning. Nate served it right in there and he put it over the fence. Big deal. They got a better team than the White Sox and a better manager even though some on here don't think managers matter.
  13. QUOTE (Tony @ Jun 18, 2016 -> 12:18 AM) By your logic, are you saying someone who isn't religious is more likely to cheat on their spouse? Yeah that was my perception. If the two people BOTH are believers and dedicated to a higher power, God, my contention is it helps keep you together and not cheat. My take is many couples, maybe most, tend to lose that sexual attraction and with that, that love, as the years go by. If both partners are available to others, meeting others at work, etc., it's very easy to stray. My take is if both dedicated their marriage to God, they are more likely to resist temptation and not cheat. I could be off base.
  14. I think we all can agree if you have health, family and employment, you've got reason to be happy. The first two are critical, but the third one is a biggie too if you have completed your trek through higher education.
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 16, 2016 -> 03:18 PM) Or just dont be a scumbag and cheat. But yeah, god. I can still learn some things from a message board. So u guys disagree with me. Fine. It's given me some points to consider. I've always thought it helped if husband and wife were committed to the same God as well as being committed to their vows. I guess the bigger point is can a couple stay faithful if not committed to their vows?
  16. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jun 16, 2016 -> 11:02 PM) Orlando shooter texted wife during attack, source says She better be in jail for the rest of her life Agreed. She could have been a f***ing hero by telling the cops he was coming to the club.
  17. The Shields acquistion is pretty mind boggling in retrospect. He has shown nothing this season and we get him and predictably his first two outings are worse than any Erik Johnson outings (with the Sox; he had a lousy start with SD). If Sox are gonna throw away money like that, think how they could have spent that money better last offseason. Shields is even worse than Peavy right now IMO. I mean is Shields going to be any better than Danks?? Shields is so bad so far in a Sox uniform it's beyond belief.
  18. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Jun 16, 2016 -> 04:52 AM) If there was ever a time for a divisional sweep outside of the Twins, this is the time. 2.5 games back, .5 back from the Tigers, with a sweep, they could either take 1st or be in 2nd. I don't think they are capable of sweeping anybody anymore. They are what they are.
  19. Is it true Australia had no gun control until that massacre in the 90s. I forget what happened now. But they then banned guns of mass destruction and have had no problems since. The problem here is the gun people, the gun owners, many of them, won't give up their guns. They demand the right to buy guns. Many say they will die before giving up their guns.
  20. Anonymous internet posters are the dregs of society. The anonymity of the internet leads to disgusting comments. It's why they have the "mean tweets" segment on TV. People are bastards.
  21. QUOTE (Tex @ Jun 15, 2016 -> 11:53 PM) And sometimes not. My in laws just celebrated 65 years of marriage. They credit their faith in keeping that marriage alive. It seems to me that if both members of a married couple have jobs, they are going to meet other people. When you meet other people, the odds are you are going to meet one you are compatible with and are attracted to. The only way to not act on this attraction IMO is if both partners in the married couple believe in God and just simply won't allow themselves to go there. The minute you allow yourself to go there and act on the attraction you are a cheater. Personally I don't see how couples make it without combined faith. You can say kids and yes there are many women who are miserable who stay in the marriage only for the kids. I've had relatives tell me they are getting out as soon as the kids leave home. At that point they are scared to go at it alone and stay in the marriage.
  22. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 16, 2016 -> 03:03 AM) I've been away a while, and I have a pastor who can answer these questions too, but I prefer groupthink over one person's opinion. There is a long story behind this, but long story short, I have been dating a girl for a while and am about to move in with her again, while there is another girl at work who I feel is a better partner for me. I don't know for sure if this "better partner" has actual feelings for me, but given the relationship we've developed as colleagues, I am fairly certain that she'd let me take her on a date, if nothing else. Oh, and my current girlfriend knows that I have a crush on this girl. As we are about to move in together. We haven't moved a thing yet. I have to ask this girl out for dinner if I think she's better for me, right? Yes and what are you doing moving in with the girl you are dating? You obviously aren't convinced she is the one for you. Why move in with her?? Ask the other one out and halt this moving in.
  23. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jun 16, 2016 -> 04:14 AM) Anderson looking just fantastic. If Morneau can come in and hit like he has the last 2 years we might have a decent offense while Hahn tries to secure another bat and perhaps a relief pitcher. Then Rodon and Shields pitch better and Sox could look pretty strong. As much as I've supported Avi he's a huge liability in the OF and Morneau crushes righties so Avi to the bench or traded. Come Sale Away ! WHy is Morneau on the DL? ACL? I'm suspecting he'll be slower than Paulie.
  24. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 16, 2016 -> 03:04 AM) starting to believe trump is actually a secret democrat plant, no one actually wanting the office would say these things He ought to go all the way bats*** crazy. Name Jesse Ventura his running mate. Just do it, Trump.
  25. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 16, 2016 -> 04:01 AM) Didn't realize Morneau was on the bench right now This might sound dumb, but wouldn't it be cool if he was player/manager? First since Don Kessinger. From all I've read he is a baseball mastermind.
