White Sox vs Tigers 7:10PM CSN
I hope Anderson learns how to draw some walks. He's a rather free swinger.

Can Saladino play right field? I'd love to get him some more at bats. Right field?

I love Saladino. 10-5.

I don't know why we cut Danks if we're trotting stiffs like this to the mound. What a pathetic start tonight.

Bachelor party disappointment
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 08:16 PM) i got some lap dances, called me up on stage, but there was no beating up, whipping, or humiliation You got very lucky. My buddy and I were in Vegas for his bachelor party and we went to a strip club with 25 guys and everybody knew it was his bachelor party. He told everybody he would run out of the club and leave everybody for the night if they called him on stage. We've been to too many bachelor parties where the bachelor goes up to the stage. They've ruined guy's clothes, stripped him to his underwear and ripped up clothes. Painted people all over with lipstick. Like I said one guy got beat pretty badly with his belt. My buddy's bachelor party was amazing since everybody agreed to not call him to the stage. We all spent a fortune. Several married guys were gone for the night in the back room with the strippers, spending thousands. I always thought how stupid that is. To pay a strippper a couple thousand bucks is insane but I've seen it done. At my buddy's party I told him if he had to sprint out the door I'd meet him and we'd take a cab to another strip club or go back to gambling if we had to. I told him not to worry I wouldn't let him get tied up and whipped by strippers.

White Sox Acquire James Shields
Sox are so dysfuctional. They are gonna let Shields go out turn after turn and pitch way worse than Erik J would have. Dumb. Erik never had a fair chance here. Shields blows. He's worse than Danks.

Pulse Nightclub Shooting in Orlando
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 01:59 PM) NPR had a story yesterday on the shooter's father. He seems a bit nutty and is obsessed with the Afghan/Pakistan border (long-running border dispute, apparently). His political concerns seem to be entirely centered around that border dispute and not religiously motivated, and he believes himself to be the head of some sort of provisional Afghan government. The dad wasn't sensitive enough to what has happened. 50 people massacred! I read today how he had so much ammo that he would shoot people and return to put more bullets in them to make sure they were dead. Horrifying stuff and this dad is talking politics. f*** him. Show some compassion. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 03:00 PM) http://www.cnn.com/2016/06/14/us/orlando-s...teen/index.html Greg, how would your feelings have changed if Walt Disney World had been attacked instead of Pulse? I'd feel terrible as well. I mean it's going to happen in a sports arena and it's going to be so ugly and the end of sports as we know it. All it would take it gunmen storming each exit and firing away. Thousands dead. We are at war, folks, but we have to be too PC. It's sad when it's a major step just calling it "radical" Islam finally. We are at war. And if the wife knew, she better serve the rest of her days in prison.

Royals Royals Royals
Your premise is the Royals are doing something special. They have sucked, only rescued by their wins over the Sox putting them back on the right track twice now! They'll be back in the gutter soon, caulfield.

2016 Democratic Thread
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 02:59 AM) It still bothers me that I live in a country where a guy like Trump is a top 2 choice for president. It bothers me that Trump is one of the top two and the other is a person who in my opinion should be in jail for putting our country's security at risk. Both are horrific candidates, equally bad IMO.

Pulse Nightclub Shooting in Orlando
Bless Anderson Cooper. He knows the humanity of this. It's real. They are more than names. They are people! Killed by a maniac with guns!! Everybody should read this CNN report. The horror of this poor guy who texted his mom n died. The report ... For three harrowing hours, as Omar Mateen carried out his rampage inside the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, clubgoers hid in bathrooms, in air-conditioning vents, under tables. Helpless, trapped, shocked and scared, they texted their loved ones, pleading for help. One person whose story has really touched peoples' hearts is that of Eddie Jamoldroy Justice. Justice, a 30-year-old accountant, sought shelter in the bathroom from where he texted his mom: Mommy I love you In club they shooting Trapp in bathroom Call police Im gonna die His mother, Mina Justice, tried to reassure him that she'd called 911 and help was coming: Calling them now. U still there? Answer your phone. Call me. Call me. Justice replied: Call them mommy Now Im still in the bathroom Hes coming Im going to die He then went silent. He was among the 49 who didn't make it. How can any human being stalk people and kill them all? This guy was all over the place. Going into the bathrooms?? f***ing devil.

They'll never trade Wiggins. Too risky that he's the next big thing. Trade will never get done cause Bulls will demand Wiggins be included IMO.

Tim Anderson Called up...Rollins DFA'd
QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 10:22 PM) Or maybe Rollins really likes playing professional baseball and doesn't freak out like you do when his team goes from first place to .500 ball 1/3 of the way into the season. Get a grip. The Sox have lost something like 9 series in a row. The team has lost some of the most bizarre ways in club history. The team has not hit, has not pitched in the five week stretch. It is not a stretch to conjecture Rollins has to be glad to be out of Chicago.

Sox Winner!
Finally! Nice bunt by Anderson. Nice job by Eaton to win it. Good to finally beat a Central team in Game One of a series. Oops, we also did that against KC. Time to start manning up and winning more. First time since 2002 Sox came back from 7 down to win. It took a while but indeed it counts as a comeback from a 7-run deficit. For a while it looked like Detroit would always be that one run ahead. Glad Anderson knows how to bunt. Moving that runner over helped. Some good performances in relief as well, even by the guy I have hated on, Albers.

Finally. A walk off victory! Well, they came back from seven down for the first time since 2002. That's 14 years. If anything can pick them off the carpet it would be this even though Shields stunk. Good job by Eaton making contact and Sox win a home game!

Why can't we win home games? it's not that difficult normally for a team.

2015-2016 NBA Thread
Holy cow. They couldn't put them away at home. LeBron always has a chance. If Cleveland takes care of business at home, we have a game seven. This could be just like the OKC series in reverse. Golden State blowing a 3-1 lead.

Frazier didn't get cheated on that at bat. He swung SOOOOO hard. Those pitches to me were straight. Too bad he didn't just make contact and stroke a single to win it. The longer it goes on .... we're the team that entered playing horrific baseball.

Too bad Shuck didn't end it with a little single. I wonder how many fans left. It's 11 p.m.

QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 02:58 AM) In any other context, someone standing less than a foot away from your face and screaming would be classified as bullying, or whatever synonym you want to use. It looks normal to you because baseball managers have always done it, but for someone like me who just came into baseball in the last 3 years, it looks absurd. Welcome to baseball's "book." If you are a new fan, many things in the book are gospel. Getting in the ump's face is one of them. If you don't do it ever, you are a pushover manager. Accept.The.Book. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 03:58 AM) Funny they're playing for a managers job, and that manager is in the tunnel, or wherever. Great post.

QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 03:47 AM) Albers was almost unhittable last season and pitched well for the first five weeks or so before heavy use began to wear on him. Why you'd want somebody like that off the team is beyond me. Easy. I compare him to Humber. Same story. Inexplicably he's gone from decent to toast. He's 'one' of the reasons our season went to s***.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 03:46 AM) With a guy that has Tim's speed, I send him because it puts pressure on defenses. He barely touched third when the rightfielder was throwing. Would the catcher have moved back farther toward the plate if Anderson had been coming? The ball kicked off the catcher in retrospect, but he had moved up for some reason.

I haven't read the early pages of the thread. I would think Shields got dissed. My only comment is the White Sox seem determined to waste at least $10 million. They saved it on LaRoche, who was so bad, then they turn around and give it to somebody who is worse than Danks (who of course also made big bucks through no fault of the Sox).
