  1. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Sep 9, 2015 -> 06:58 AM) No offense intended Greg but you're like worst political analyst ever. You have me cracking up with your observations... Thanks. I appreciate any praise. My current take is I still don't like Hillary and would love if Biden or Bernie got the democratic nomination. On the other side, I have no favorite but Trump is going to wear out over time and that's why Biden has to run cause all he'll have to do is beat Hillary and he's president. Whomever gets the Demo nomination is gonna bury Trump in the general election. Bank that. Only hope is if the surgeon can strike lightning in a bottle and get the nomination.
  2. What is your take on Kansas State's band forming a giant D--K and penetrating a Jayhawk's mouth in the home opener last Saturday? League fined the Cats $5,000. Do you think it's funny or in this day and age of PC, unacceptable? They denied it was a d--k, said it was the starship enterprise. League still fined them.
  3. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Sep 9, 2015 -> 02:10 AM) Hate week is upon us. Iowa is -4 at Iowa State. ISU now has the third biggest stadium in the Big 12. Will be a second straight sellout at 61,500. Iowa State football fans truly are amazing. Considering the product that's damn impressive to put over 60000 in there. People around here say KU will beat Iowa State for its one win this season and I tell them no, the people there actually care and no way KU is gonna go in there and win. In fact it'll be an ISU blowout. ISU basketball fans can be a little rowdy/obscene but their football fans are incredible IMO.
  4. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Sep 9, 2015 -> 02:29 PM) This is a good point. They'll either extend him or move on. I fully expect him to be back but Hahn has stated that all options are on the table. I think they'd probably just say he's coming back if he were for sure. Yeah they are going to have to extend him. He's not going to manage on a one-year deal. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Sep 9, 2015 -> 03:30 PM) Found this comment to be interesting in the Tribune today from Rick Hahn: Hahn said the Sox will be careful not to overreact and create more problems when they make their changes, given that they still believe they have some of the pieces in place needed to win. He said Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf, who was “heavily involved” in their offseason restructuring last winter, has asked for their plan to get back on track. Mark Nice. I don't know what they are gonna tell the chairman. It's going to be hard to win with no power Melky as your leftfielder, absolutely worthless LaRoche as your DH and what on paper remains average to below average defensive team (depending on who gets third and second next year).
  5. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 9, 2015 -> 03:09 AM) The Sox are out of the race, they won't make the playoffs, etc. Game threads have gone down to My point is, I know we're not in the playoff race, but actually try to watch/follow/enjoy these final few weeks of Sox games, because a few months from now, we'll all be dying for White Sox baseball. Nice enthusiasm but Robin/Hahn/Kenny and of course the lousy players have combined to do such a poor job that I actually will be ready for the season to end. It usually isn't that way, but this season was so frustrating for the second year in a row I'll be glad it's over. Yes I despise the winter and the ice and damn cold weather and will be ready for spring training, but Robin and the others have done the unthinkable for me: Make me happy the season will be over. Sad. This season has been totally pathetic. I'd give everybody combined a grade of D.
  6. Great posts by so many of you. No way Arenado is gonna get traded unless we offer Sale like somebody said. They won't trade him. I have no idea how Hahn fixes this mess except to for sure get rid of Melky, LaRoche, Duke, Petricka, let Lexi go and trade Avi as well. Also release Soto and Flowers or make Flowers backup catcher about 50 games. It's up to Hahn to figure out how to promote those minor leaguers worth a damn and totally revamp the team by dumping horrible players and acquiring younger free agents.
  7. 200 bucks is still 15 beers or more at 10 bucks a pop plus tip. That's a few brews.
  8. Well, fine. He's a likeable guy. He's a smart guy. He's not stupid. He must realize a lot of things have to change. Cmon Robin, encourage the front office to get guys who can catch the ball and are team players who hit to all fields. And get some true power hitters to go with this awesome pitching. The White Sox cannot win without a ton of home runs. Cmon Robin. Wake up and save your managing career next year and get this team to play with fricking intensity.
  9. Good win. The Indians are sort of, but not really in the wildcard race so they can't be happy losing.
  10. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Sep 9, 2015 -> 04:05 AM) September games in an empty ballpark when seemingly no one in the world cares about the White Sox...suck. Thank you again. Mr. Reinsdorf. That's what I was thinking when I saw the empty seats. This team had a problem with playing meaningful baseball. It came out of the gate 0-3 vs. KC before big crowds and never decided to be competitive again. I don't know what it's going to take to significantly climb over .500 again. I wish baseball would change its ridiculous schedule format. Sox obviously cannot get up for these Central Division teams, that is apparent.
  11. Zach Duke is stealing money. Mama make your babies become lefthanded. Cause they might be rich in the big leagues. He is so ordinary it's amazing.
  12. Who does Trayce project to resemble upside and downside? Dye upside? And the current Francour downside? Saladino upside maybe of a Graffanino and downside Aviles?
  13. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 9, 2015 -> 03:47 AM) Clev. announcer were talking about his delivery. He doesn't hide the ball and hitters can still get around in him. I've never been high on him because of the delivery. I know the Royals' Holland had a couple amazing seasons doing the same thing.
  14. Nate's arm motion is so unnatural and un-smooth. I don't expect a long career from Nate.
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 9, 2015 -> 12:10 AM) Greg I'm pretty sure you'd love every George Will column and all columns. Nah, he uses too many big words. Show-off. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 9, 2015 -> 12:14 AM) Right. There's a difference between political correctness and decency/politeness. We need to elect the surgeon, I'm telling you. He's class and will be great.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 8, 2015 -> 06:29 PM) c. Yes, her email server appears to have followed all appropriate state department rules. It has exposed that there are some issues with State Department employees emailing things that turn out to be classified over unclassified networks, but part of the problem with that is that the amount of classified information our government has is absolutely insane. The Secretary of State is going to be involved in a drone strike program but the details of that program and even its existence have been retroactively classified. And you've made it 100% clear you don't care. It does appear there is a good chance of a president who crosses into their 70s at some point during their administration winning this race, although obviously there are many younger candidates particularly on the Republican side. The way I see it is upper 70s during the second term. The younger candidates don't appear to have any momentum at all right now. Trump would be 77 at the end of his second term. Hillary is 68 now; she'd be 77. Bernie would be 83 in his second term for gosh sakes. Biden would be 81 at the end of his second term. That's crazy. The surgeon would be only 72 late in his second term.
  17. Interesting weekend: a.) It was reported that Bernie Sanders leads in New Hampshire and is closing in Iowa. Color me skeptical. There's no way Bernie can be actually competing successfully with Hillary. b.) We've got some old candidates. Wow. Bernie is old; Hillary is old. Donald Trump is pretty old (69). Biden is looking like a guy who will run and he is old. Those are four candidates who will be close to 80 if they win two terms. c.) Hillary said she would not apologize for the emails. Said it was legal to do what she did. Is she in denial? I don't think anybody cares though. Which young candidate is going to rally? Are we really going to have a 70-something president? I know 70 is the new 50 but 70 is still kinda up there.
  18. I saw today somebody on the Indians hit a home run and drilled it pretty good and some fan in the second row of the bleachers totally whiffed on catching it and it rocketed into the third row. There were people in the third row who didn't even see the ball because the uncoordinated slob totally missed the line drive homer. That ball woulda caused some injury (at least a big bump/bruise) had it hit the guy in the row behind the fan who committed the error. Obviously they can't put up nets in the outfield, but somebody today almost got drilled and there woulda been nothing they could really do about it.
  19. I wonder if the Cubs can beat the Pirates in the WC game. I would think Pitt has the advantage with experience.
  20. Somebody mentioned it and deserves credit. Somebody compared Olt to Josh Fields and I agree. He reminds me of Fields a lot.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 7, 2015 -> 09:49 PM) 2 runs early with Indians not playing their two best should have been enough with Sale on the mound You expect a lot. Holding an MLB to just one run is a helluva performance, no matter the opponent IMO. I think 3 runs is a decent outing even for an ace.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 7, 2015 -> 09:42 PM) And risk losing more games? I think the great thing about him playing is that it might mean Saladino isn't in the plans for 3b going forward. Good post as usual. You are hot this season, your best season of posting IMO. I'm not a Saladino guy (except for utility action; please cut Beckham and keep Sally), but Olt is not the answer at 3B. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 7, 2015 -> 10:20 PM) So you want to have our players choke up on the bats like its little league and bench a player we just picked up from playing in meaningless games in September. These are gems Greg. Hey, it's helped. Flowers actually has some control of the bat with 2 strikes and who was the guy the other day that hit the gapper after he choked up? I forget now but I remember noticing at the time in KC.
  23. Of course our country is totally engulfed in not wanting to offend anybody and political correctness. I think George Will makes about a dozen good points in this column, listing many many things we could be outraged about if we elected to be outraged. For instance, Washington D.C.'s name should be changed and so should the name of the state of Oklahoma. Several more examples. I think Trump is awesome for battling back against political correctness cause as Will points out, where do we draw the line?? I mean he makes a perfect point that the state of Oklahoma's name should be changed as well as the name Washington, D.C. Tons of good examples. The P.C. people won't read it or will just say George Will sucks. Might want to broaden one's horizons and consider this column. http://www.newsmax.com/GeorgeWill/redskins...9/06/id/673810/
  24. If the offense gets him 4 runs nobody cares about the homers just like EJ's homers in KC.
