  1. I had a feeling that would happen after the fairly good swing on that foul smash. Strike Three. Bad game from Conor. One scratch hit in five at bats.
  2. Cmon Conor. 1-4 is not good. Just stroke it; soft liner for a base knock. Just do it.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2014 -> 04:32 AM) ADA with another garbage at bat. He has no balance at the plate, and hasn't for a while. Looked like he had a couple meatballs to hit hard. And didn't. Tyler with a single! Let's go, Sox.
  4. Lexi really looks like a ballplayer this year. If Sox do trade him, they better get a good HAUL of players. He's a real ballplayer this year.
  5. Nice. Cmon, Thornton, be WILD. Walk two guys and then we have a chance against whoever they bring in.
  6. Would be nice to get Gardner out. Otherwise we have no chance if he gets hit here.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2014 -> 04:18 AM) Why not just go with Putnam, Webb and Belisario again? Putnam is effective against LHP anyways. That's probably the way he should be going right now except nights those guys are not available. Sounds good to me.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 24, 2014 -> 04:15 AM) Wow...this outcome wasn't completely predictable, Mr. Manager? The problem is when you have a starter only go six and have to manage the final three innings, you have to have an old time set-up guy who can get you a full inning, lefty/rightymatchups be damned! Do we have anybody like that? Webb maybe. Choosing Downs was dumb because he sucks against righties. It's kind of early to be playing the one-batter thing.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2014 -> 04:14 AM) it's called they have a great end of the bullpen, and the White Sox bullpen is worn out and in shambles Yeah, they definitely have some arms.
  10. Yankees are dominating the game within the game -- the final 3 innings.
  11. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ May 24, 2014 -> 04:09 AM) This is also going to be a 3:40 or so game with only nine runs scored. Yankees' baseball, nothing like it. That's just way too long ... disgraceful.
  12. Paulie shouldn't rip the ump there. He wasn't going to get a hit against a guy who throws like that.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2014 -> 03:56 AM) Could be worse, but should be better. Ventura has no business being a MLB manager. Downs shouldn't ever ever face a righty again. Just save him for the one lefty you MUST get out late.
  14. Damn we have nine hits and only four runs. We need about five more hits and three more runs.
  15. Petricka is throwing very slow stuff. This isn't good.
  16. Screw that. Tie game. Flowers put the glove the wrong way. Scoop that baby.
  17. Ellsbury is damn good. How bout a miracle 6-4-3?
  18. We could use an intentional walk and go for the miracle DP. This guy is too smart a hitter. He'll hit a sac fly minimum.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 24, 2014 -> 03:44 AM) Pray for a DFA for Scott Downs. Keppinger and Downs the only real black marks on Hahn's resume so far. About $15 million wasted there. That's quite a bit of wasted money, even in baseball.
  20. Downs is gonna get physically get his head taken off by ritey hitters. He can only face lefties. What a bad, bad relief pitcher he is.
  21. Pray for a DP. He's gonna hit it hard at somebody.
  22. Is Matt Thornton still in baseball? What happened to Jenks' comeback? Get Downs out of there.
  23. These three innings should be very interesting. I wonder if Robin will make all the calls on the relievers to come, or Coop.
  24. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 24, 2014 -> 03:25 AM) Ventura looking like a genius that time. Just goes to show how little confidence he has in Scott Downs at this point. And how close we were to seeing Scott Carroll as the "long man" in a game we were trailing the Yankees by only a single run. We're still gonna see Downs, Caufield. Robin pretty much had to get six out of Noesi lest he run out of pitchers later.
  25. Well, Noesi allowed 3 runs in six innings. There are worst outings than that. Bullpen has to cover 3 innings which is not good. We need more runs.
