  1. Is it cold in Chicago again? It's hot as bleep here. Tstorms, too.
  2. Does Noesi stink or not? I didn't see the first frame.
  3. Sox won't sign a Boras client with no. 1 pick this year. Bank on that.
  4. Nice win. Sox are an interesting team. All these injuries and reasonably bad pitchers (aside from Sale and Q and maybe some others) and they are around .500. Can't argue with winning. Sox have won 3 of 4.
  5. This begs the question to any insiders on this board. Would a player rather be in AAA playing every day knowing the big league team does like him and has plans for him in the future, or playing Semien's current role. My guess is they'd rather be in the majors at any costs, screw the everyday work.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 22, 2014 -> 03:05 AM) But you didn't make that bet, did you? After the way the Royals have lost these games....Moutaskas in free fall....the momentum was definitely against KC, except for Guthrie's track record since 2012 against the White Sox, and especially at Kauffman. Then you have would have been mad at Guthrie since he's something like 8-3 against the White Sox during that time frame (had the White Sox won). I don't have a bookie but I sure would have made that bet if I was in Vegas. The Guthrie thing is automatic against the Sox. That's the key to the bet. I figured Q would have a good game as well cause the Royals suck and he's pretty good, and we'd lose 5-1 ish. That's a lock for the under. I don't mind gambling when it's logical. And I think this was close to a lock. That first game I predicted was a lock to be over. I just got the winner wrong as Sox overcame a 5-0 deficit and picked Dyson off second to win it.
  7. He stunk soooo bad. Now it's time to DFA DeAza or trade him for any lousy prospect. Or at least send him down to learn how to hit again.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 21, 2014 -> 09:45 PM) His track record is no worse than your recent gambling record yet you continue to offer predictions. I have a policy of not bragging but you guys keep bringing up my gambling only when I lose. I would have won you A LOT of money tonight betting the under and the Royals in a parlay.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ May 22, 2014 -> 01:30 AM) ADA is getting too many ABs He's horrible. He really needs to be dumped for a bag of balls. I'd rather see anybody else out there than him with the exception of L. Garcia. He's horrible as well. QUOTE (raBBit @ May 22, 2014 -> 02:53 AM) There is no way Petricka should have been first in relief. He didn't seem to have anything out there but it actually could have been worse. Is it true Cooper and Robin got into it? Some poster mentioned that may have happened.
  10. Lame but not at all unexpected. Holland wasn't going to blow that save. Bad loss but 2 of 3 is good.
  11. It's Lexi.
  12. Ugh. Is Sierra really up?
  13. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 22, 2014 -> 02:37 AM) Yep yet RV never makes the right move. Arguably in hindsight you both are right. You could assume the bunt might shake him up and indeed Escobar rifled the double. However he was right at 100 pitches wasn't he? I don't have a problem with him pitching the eighth because of pitch count and the fact he was doing well. Big balls from Aoki to bunt with 2 strikes. He's MVP of this game.
  14. Petricka has NOTHING tonight. Get him out of there.
  15. Horrible walk. Throw the fricking ball over the plate.
  16. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 22, 2014 -> 02:27 AM) Reason I didn't want to see Q come back out: He hasn't had much success going through line ups 2, 3, or 4th times.. I had a feeling something was going to happen.. Too bad he didn't throw an off speed pitch on Aoki's bunt Good point but the bunt was one of those things. Then Escobar slugged his fastball for a 2B and just like that game ova (with Holland)
  17. That bunt was a game changing killer. Got to hope for the miracle DP on Butler. I predict a walk or hit by pitcher.

QUOTE (beautox @ May 21, 2014 -> 09:04 PM) Exactly, with so much parity across the AL especially in the east; Dunn's services will be highly sought after during the trade deadline. I would expect to get a couple of B level prospects back. Outside of BOS, DET, TOR nearly every team in the hunt for the post season could use and upgrade at DH. Guys, are we really to the point thinking we can get anything for Adam Dunn? I guess a couple of fringe prospects 'might' be reasonable but I still can't imagine any team wanting Dunn to do anything except pinch hit. His track record in the AL has been that bad. Maybe the NL.
  19. Can Dunn make contact against Guthrie? I'll go with Dunn.
  20. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ May 21, 2014 -> 07:55 PM) On paper, bet the under and the Royals. Odds are Sox will not sweep this series. It'd be nice to get seven out of Q and score a few runs off Sox killer Guthrie.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 21, 2014 -> 08:47 PM) Wait until they resign him to a one year, seven million dollar deal. Ah, we're not going to have to worry about that. He can go sign with Minnesota or somebody for one year at a time.
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 21, 2014 -> 06:22 AM) Royals' fans must be out on the cliffs of the Missouri River right now. Losing to a White Sox team without Sale, Abreu and a closer? Twice in a row, at home? That last pitch of the game was awesome. Cain had no chance. Man, what a pitch. As far as KC fans and KC vs. Chicago ... ha, now that the Royals are expected to beat us, it's harder. Just like when the Sox over and over got owned by an inferior KC team. Funny but I'll take it. Great win. Figured KC would rally with the Sox bullpen being what it is, but enough good pitches to win it.
  23. It's refreshing that so many fans on here see the Sox as WC contenders all year. I just don't see it at all with the injuries as well as a few too many lousy players (pitchers). I'd be all for a shot at the wild card, but I'm thinking by June 10 we'll be pretty much buried. Hope I'm wrong.
  24. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 20, 2014 -> 12:28 PM) http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...t&p=2980861 Can anybody loan greg some money? He may be a bit short this morning. If u guys had bet the over like I said, you'd have not had to sweat it out at all and made some cash.
