If the Jewish people do have to register over there ... wow is all I can say. I wonder how long the world will exist before we destroy each other. You know that's how eventually the world is going to end. Way too much hatred and way too many assholes out there (like the kook in North Korea).
  2. I sense some anti Lewinsky comments on here. She was just a baby, so to speak and the PRESIDENT was having sex with her and sneaking around with her and making it an exciting liason for the young woman. Yet he remains so popular his wife will be a landslide winner in the next election and Lewinsky is considered trash. Oh that makes sense (not saying you guys on this thread are calling her trash, but many are). Sad.
  3. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 7, 2014 -> 07:35 PM) Crazy Logic >>>>>>>>>>>> Actual Logic How many wins is Semien responsible for? He's a breath of fresh air this season for this team.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 7, 2014 -> 06:31 PM) Wait, what? I said if Semien gets sent down it is one of my saddest days ever as a Sox fan. He belongs right now. You can see it despite his batting average. He's got so many clutch hits. He does not deserve to be in the minor leagues. Trade Keppinger for a bag of balls. Trade Beckham for a bag of balls. Get rid of DeAza. Keep Semien.
  5. Did they send Semien down? This is one of my saddest days EVER as a Sox fan if that is the case. Guys like Keppinger, Dunn, Beckham will be on this team and Semien has to go back to the minors after all those clutch hits?? Bulls***. This team deserves NO attendance if that's the case.
  6. I wonder if they'd ever have an Ernie Banks appreciation day on the South Side. Or Billy Williams. Or Ron Santo since he played for the Sox?
  7. Are you impressed Lewinsky is speaking out finally, calling it a consentual relationship with Bill? She's not blaming him even though he was her boss. She said it was a relationship not a fling I guess. Weird timing with Hillary so hot on the popularity trail. I guess better now than in a year when Hilly will be pushing hard for the oval office.
  8. Nice gesture. Cubs are first team to honor Paulie, right? The scoreboard tile is perfect. Beats a Cub bobblehead of Harry Caray or something.
  9. QUOTE (raBBit @ May 7, 2014 -> 03:41 AM) The cute little chick that replaced Sarah Kustok gave "the wind" an assist for Beckham's home run and it made me laugh out loud. Even when Beckham plays great people are poking holes in it. He gave the fakest smile. Good stuff. At least he got it up in the jet stream like Flowers. They both coulda hit those DP grounders that were so common last year.
  10. Good win. Robin was on top of his game tonight. Let Flowers swing away. And good choice of Webb in the ninth. Put him in his eventual closer's role with a 4-run lead. Not an extreme pressure situation but not an automatic win, considering our relievers' penchant for walking people. And he comes through. Good to sweep that horrific team this year in Wrigley unlike last year's disaster. Would like to continue beating them. Need to get the offense going in the Cell.
  11. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 7, 2014 -> 04:18 AM) Wait... He always has an uppercut swing Then I should have thanked him for making contact on the uppercut swing.
  12. Nice job taking an uppercut Mr. Danks! We needed a fly ball and got a deep one.
  13. The key against the Cubs is to not get two strikes on you. Don't know how Flowers did it with two strikes. Our guys wave at sliders a lot w/ 2 strikes.
  14. Give Flowers credit. Nice single. At least he doesn't get cheated. He swings HARD.
  15. Robin managing by the gut here? No bunt? I'm happy no bunt. He'd popped it up probly.
  16. With two strikes, the Sox need to assume slider or slow crap. Beckham runs into one. Nice.
  17. If we somehow win this game I'd consider it a minor miracle. It's the same as last night's game and odds are the home team has to win one of these two clone-games.
  18. Semien got owned there on that pitch. Whiff.
  19. The Cubs do know how to pitch our hitters. No doubt about it. I wonder if Theo has great advance scouts. Whiff.
  20. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 7, 2014 -> 03:12 AM) Sierra is a damn stud!! Your post should read ... "Sierra is a damn stud (today)!!"
  21. Our hitting sucks of late. Can't put anything together. It's time, now that Sierra has doubled. CLUTCH HITS SOMEBODY!!!
  22. Who is this Putnam guy? Where did we get him? Is he a true prospect or a journeyman? He seems pretty good to me.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 7, 2014 -> 03:01 AM) You don't waste your challenge unless it is a slam dunk, otherwise you could screw your team later. It is common sense. That was a big one, though. We still had the lead halfway thru the game. He was definitely out. Show everybody you fricking care to take 2 of 2 in Wrigley.
  24. Bad play by Beckham. Bad decision by Robin to not dispute that play at second. He was out.
  25. QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 5, 2014 -> 11:26 PM) I think it is tough for families to swing that these days. The other thing that has been mentioned is the three hour game has to stop being the norm. More waks and K's these days too which means its three hours full of no action. Every damn pitch is treated like life and death by the hitter/pitcher, Get it and throw it. I'm convinced that is what a large portion of Buehrle's success can be attributed to. Not calling the strike at the letters is disgraceful, but the umps just won't do it. You are right, though. Every pitch is life and death and after the starter is replaced, it REALLY gets serious. Pitcher after pitcher. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 6, 2014 -> 01:31 AM) 3 hour game would be great, but isn't the average Sox game now up to 3:17 or something this year (as of a few days ago), with a handful of 4+ hour games? It's today's day and age with how people treat their time and money. The "value" people get out of 5-6 hours between driving and watching the game, the expense of parking the car, tickets, then all the food on top of it...just not worth the value/time to a lot of people anymore. Comparing it to a movie - movie is 2 hours and it doesn't cost anything to park, and you could more easily get away with no food. Anyway, the answer is to make it less time and provide more value. Eliminate the dead time. This is going to become a bigger focus with MLB over the next few years, I believe. That's really a great post. Baseball doesn't care, though. Sox execs should read your post though. It's all true. You really have to be an idiot to be willing to go to an event where parking costs that much, yet we do it. BTW, I remember going to tons of games as a college student back home for summers and cost never even entered my mind. My part time jobs had me set to go to ballgames and tons of 'em. Now? Ha. No college kid can afford the experience (including multiple beers) unless mommy and daddy are rich. You are right about movies, too. Unless you are on a date or something, you easily can go without anything to eat/drink at a 2 hour movie especially if you sneak in one bottle of water.
