  1. Too bad Cespides didn't drop the ball the way he flicked the glove at it. Pretty impressive flick. I thought that might be a Cell home run but I wasn't as convinced as Hawk. No way. It didn't look like a certain HR.
  2. This is the ballgame right here. If DeAza can get on, we have a chance. If he fails, forget it. It'll be 1-2-3. Cmon DeAza.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 03:51 AM) Down 6.5 with a run differential +/- between the teams of 110. We're not that close, and that's not taking into account Peavy being injured. It's hard to imagine this starting rotation pitching well enough to keep the Sox in the hunt. This probably by all accounts should be our 10th loss in a row.
  4. To those of you who played baseball in college or high school or whatever ... Gillaspie made a fantastic stop of that smash, but his throw was horrible. My question to you is, upon making such a stop, is it still a big fail when you make a crummy throw like that?
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 03:48 AM) The Sox have a fluke win yesterday to avoid a 9 game losing streak and that gets your hopes up? It's still the same crappy team. I know, but we're so close in games behind the Tigers it makes you dream.
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 03:44 AM) On the pitch trax on the Sox telecast, strike 2 was inside off the plate. Strike 3 was further inside off the plate. I guess I'm way off on that one. I thought it looked like a meatball from my puter.
  7. This is gonna be a tough loss after yesterday's rare win. f***. If ever the Sox had a rally, it needs to come tonight. Another loss will be very very depressing.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 03:40 AM) I don't like Flowers, but those last 2 pitches were not strikes. I'd like to see that strike three pitch again. I swear it was a K.
  9. The way Crain pitched it mighta been nice to have him breeze through the 10th and try to win it in the bottom. Who cares if he's unavailable tomorrow in that scenario? Just a thought.
  10. Sometimes when I realize we're not THAT FAR out of first and I probably mistaken believe these games matter, I root HARD for a victory in a game like this. We should have won that game in the ninth. Get runner on base to lead off inning, bunt him over, and get two shots at a game winning single. But noooooo .... Sox don't even sniff a winning run.
  11. Guys, with man on first and nobody out in tie game at home in 9th you HAVE to bunt him over. Stupid baseball.
  12. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 02:55 AM) I saw the whole thing. Great defense is what got us there and hopefully the offense is breaking out. I am so giddy! I repeat, you are the best White Sox fan alive. Even in this season where Paulie unfortunately is showing he's finished and our lineup is as anemic as it's ever been, and this team appears starting its inevitable decline after years of excellence, you find the positive in a game in which we laughably blow a 5-run lead in the 14th inning. You are the best fan alive. Seriously.
  13. Downright embarrassing to blow the 5-run lead in the 14th, especially when the Sox didn't send the runner from third in trying to score a 6th run. But ... a win is a win. Sox will take it. It truly beats the alternative.
  14. Bay easily could tie this baby ... or hit into a DP.
  15. They did it. They got the tying run to the plate. LOL. Our White Sox ... the worst team in the AL.
  16. This is a huge at bat. A double and it's a new ballgame. A K would be nice.
  17. I know Reed needs work, but like most Sox closers of the past, he's s*** in non closing situations. This could get ugly.
  18. That'd be funny if Seattle scored 4 here. Well, not that funny.
  19. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 12:07 AM) Man seeing this from Paulie is sad He either should just retire or if he wants to keep playing, just refine his singles hitting stroke. Obviously he's done power wise and driving the ball at the age of 37.
  20. Well like Stone said, we now know the key: just get it to the 14th inning every day and we'll be fine. We coulda scored more than five even, but I'll take five. We shouldn't even use Addy here. Might as well keep him on an extended vacation.
  21. Fire Manto, hire Big Hurt. Royals are 2-3 since Brett took over. Sox would take two wins out of every five games the rest of the year.
  22. QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 11:27 PM) No you're right. I have no idea why he posted that. This is a game thread for a game in Seattle and it's not like anyone else was talking about attendance. Sorry, I was throwing my 9game losing streak fit. My bad.
  23. Sox won't sniff 30,000 fans at the Cell the rest of the year. Do you agree? Average crowd of about 18,000 to 22,000. 22000 will be a huge crowd.
