  1. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ May 29, 2013 -> 01:59 AM) Sure looks unlikely that they'll play any more tonight. Split DH at separate parks tomorrow? That's what they should have done, but that woulda been too much fun I guess.

1.) Wedding Crashers was on TV today. Even with them having to cut so much and change words so much, I get a kick out of that movie. Do you guys agree the uncut Wedding Crashers is damn funny? 2. The Internship looks horrible, like a commercial for Google. Do you agree? 3.) Hangover III, yay or nay? I am considering going this week. Does it suck? I saw somebody on here said it's 'not as bad as everybody says.' That's not a glowing recommendation to spend 10 bucks. 4.) As far as Grownups, I thought it was horrific. Is there truly a sequel? I almost walked out of it because it was so boring and unfunny IMO at least.
  3. I just hope Dunn keeps elevating the ball to center and left center and even left. Bad things happen when he pulls the ball. The big ox just needs to go with the pitch as he has been on most of his long balls lately.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ May 28, 2013 -> 03:10 AM) Attendance topped 30k for maybe the last time this season I'd say no way they draw 30000 for a game the rest of the season unless it's in the playoffs. If they were between 10 and 15 over .500 and the kids are still out of school, maybe for a Friday or Saturday night game. If they are a team with this kind of record, no way. This Cub game proves that. 10,000 Cub fans and 30,000 total? Wow. We have pretty much a loyal fan base of about 20,000 on a given night, right??
  5. That last goal might be a blessing. Coach Q can harp on it and tell the Hawks it's obvious Detroit hasn't quit and will come to play. Game 7 should be insane. Hawks should be fired up out of their minds. If the Hawks win this series, who is next? Will the opponent be inferior to this one?
  6. 4-3 Hawks lead; one minute left; those who bet the over tonight are loving life.
  7. Hope the fans bring it in Game 7. Refuse to lose, baby.
  8. Hawks are kicking some major ass the third period.
  9. Awesome. 3-2 Hawks. Is this coaching? Something technical or are the Hawks just playing insanely well this period? Go Hawks.
  10. Somebody is gonna have to make a play and put a perfect shot past Detroit goalie and get this baby tied up.
  11. QUOTE (RME JICO @ May 28, 2013 -> 01:38 AM) Crawford can't let that 2nd goal in. Horrible goaltending on that long shot. Hawks better tie it up by the 10 minute mark cause Detroit will just be dumping the puck and protecting the lead. This is embarrassing right now. Hawks looked like they had 20 pound weights on their backs that 2nd period. Detroit was all over. The whole period was Detroit.
  12. I disagree, Jake. If you are going to come out and play zombie-like by giving them a first-inning run, you are contributing to your own demise. In some ways it's not just one of the 50 you are going to lose when you put it on a platter for them in the first inning.
  13. Is there a Blackhawk message board? I wanna read the meltdown. Hawks playing horribly in 2nd period.
  14. Hawks getting totally outworked so far in the 2nd.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 28, 2013 -> 12:39 AM) 30,631 on a holiday. Wow...can't believe it almost ended up under 30K, and a good 10,000 of them are cheering for the Cubs. Let's face it, 26,000 is a huge crowd for the Sox this season. QUOTE (DukeofChicagoA1 @ May 28, 2013 -> 12:59 AM) This team isn't winning a World Series. .500 is the upside of this team. Robin is doing a helluva job to have the Sox right there.
  16. QUOTE (Baron @ May 28, 2013 -> 12:07 AM) It may have something to do with the pitcher.... Yeah, he has a sparkling 2-6 record for this horrific Cub team.
  17. Robin Ventura must be the manager of the century to have this team at .500. Or is starting pitching that important? I mean how the hell is this team .500 compared to the Royals, who are 6 or 7 under?
  18. I'd feel a lot better about this game if the score was 0-0 vs. Samarjia (sp). That mental error by Lexi still chafes me.
  19. QUOTE (DukeofChicagoA1 @ May 28, 2013 -> 12:32 AM) Alexei sucks. He's overrated. Anyone disagree? I wouldn't say he sucks or is overrated. He's a bit above average, nothing special. Kepp with the predictable double play. Why not go to right field there, Kepp? Lousy at bat.
  20. QUOTE (DukeofChicagoA1 @ May 28, 2013 -> 12:27 AM) I don't know about you guys but i've had it with Alexei's brain farts. Dumbass just gave them a run. And why can't Quintana just pitch with confidence like in his last start? Instead of being afraid and cautious with every pitch to this crumby chubs lineup? WHYYYY I wouldn't blame Q at all for Lexi's total screw up. That was such an easy DP to end the inning.
  21. So much for the Sox being wide awake for the s***ty Cubs. That should have been the sorriest Cub double play ever. Instead ... 1-0 Cubs.
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 27, 2013 -> 03:03 AM) It's also hard to read much into sweeping the Marlins, one of the two worst teams in baseball, at home. We also didn't have to face Jose Fernandez, FWIW. We beat up the Twins just as they were just starting to go ice-cold, we faced the Angels when they were in last place and split and we beat up the Marlins, although all three games were nail biters. That said, the way we played against Boston was encouraging. We're also still sitting in negative territory in the RS/RA stat. The Miami series meant nothing except it was nice to see the Sox complete the deal and sweep a minor league team. Obviously Sox could have lost one or two of the three, but didn't.
  23. Well, the Sox are technically in the race, so you don't do the firesale yet. You just can't. It would be nice to acquire a catcher and a reliever, but what do the Sox give up? I'm all for adding payroll and bodies, but not giving up talent (how to accomplish that I have no idea). I do anticipate the Sox continuing to flounder during games against Central Division teams. We haven't even played one game against Detroit yet. Does anybody expect us to do much against KC, Minnie or Cleveland? Even Minnie has looked good against the Sox.
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ May 26, 2013 -> 09:52 PM) Excellent! Ventura did a great job of having a quick hook with Axelrod. Ventura is on a roll of late. Hope he can get the team to stay fired up against horses*** teams. Sox really could take 3 of 4 from the Cubs if they maintain focus (cliche) and play good defense to go with what figures to continue to be strong pitching. I won't even comment on the offense, but are 4-5 runs out of the question each of the next four nights?
  25. Man, you guys are way ahead of the mlb.com feed. Lindstrom is still pitching as we speak.
