  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 05:01 PM) You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. I mean crazy things like this year not being able to win at home, totally streaky play. It's just like our play with Ozzie, hanging around .500 or a little above. I like Robin, but Ozzie is a very very good manager. He kept our team loose. He'd still be here if not for a personal 1-1 war with the GM, who won that battle. Why root against Ozzie now is all I ask? He bled White Sox red.
  2. QUOTE (MAX @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 07:39 AM) Last Place Why do you guys care how the Marlns are doing? It's a lack of class IMO to root against Ozzie Guillen. I guess he's the scapegoat even though our team this year is as dysfunctional as ever. You guys blame Ozzie for the Sox play this year yet?
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 05:11 AM) With Nate Jones struggling, Crain's role is even more important with the big league club. You watch every game. Do you not agree Crain is finished?
  4. QUOTE (59th street @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 03:55 AM) Why would we give them anything for a guy they "have to move soon" and who has been hurt and very much on the decline? Absolutely no reason to give up any of our bullpen or better arm prospects for Youk. I would think they will send him to the NL as the red cubs will not take a chance that he could help an AL rival for wildcard and I don't see any AL team offering enough to entice them to take a chance on an AL trade partner. I agree we should give them scraps. I just fear KW will give them 2-3 good prospects. I'd rather send them Crain and be done with it. I consider Crain average at best.
  5. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 04:44 AM) lol wtf are you talking about? They can have Flowers, Lilli and the whole gang if they want before I'm giving up Jesse Crain I want them to take Lilly. You would rather have them take Flowers than a stiff like Crain?? Wow. Crain is a crain-wreck as stated last night. He is just another arm. Youk for Crain would please me greatly.
  6. Since 2009, Youk has been so-so. Offer them scraps, Kenny. They have no use for Youk anymore.
  7. I'd pass on him right now. This never works out well when it becomes a bidding war for a guy past his prime. Sox will offer too much and we'll be screaming about losing Mitchell/Danks, whomever, in a couple years. I swear I can picture Kenny overpaying again for this guy. Just say no, Kenny, unless they'll take Crain or Hudson off our hands. Or Lilly or somebody like that. Don't give them somebody like Flowers or Mitchell!!!!! Please no. Make it Crain for Youk straight up.
  8. QUOTE (onedude @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 04:10 AM) I had a good time at the game...seems like both sox and brewer fans were loving it. GREAT WIN!!! Great. Sounds like a good time. Merkin tweeted it was a loud crowd.
  9. QUOTE (IowanSoxFan @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 04:00 AM) Dear White Sox, Please take the series tomorrow. Amen. Amen. Amen. Flowers needs to do something on Sunday!!! How bout 2 homers from Flowers?
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 03:59 AM) Well, with Cook being brought up that pretty much confirms that the Red Sox aren't asking for Major League players in return. Maybe we'll send them Hudson in a mano for mano deal. Nyuk nyuk. We better not send them a name prospect! They want to get rid of the guy. You wait, we'll offer them DanksII or somebody good.
  11. Gotta love Tank and Reed and Beckham tonight for starters.
  12. Nice sloppy 8-6 win. Fans musta had a good time with all the hitting. Now please, finally win a series on Sunday. Thank u.
  13. Three outs and a nice high scoring victory. The big crowd prolly liked all the offense. So wrap it up Reed.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 02:59 AM) Not even close, as he's getting some boos Who got booed? QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 03:20 AM) Reed for the 4 out save? And he just got up to warm.. poor managing by Ventura this game. Are u crazy? You wanted Thornton to face him? Great decision by manager here.
  15. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 02:56 AM) Come on Dunn! Try not to be a useless sack of s*** in this AB. Dunn is having a great year, but his .220 batting average is a little low.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 02:24 AM) Lillibridge is one of the rare players in the majors who can play 7 positions defensively. He's very valuable in that way. No problem with him taking up one of the last roster spots on the team. So what. He can't hit a baseball. Sad. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 02:26 AM) Neither is Dewayne Wise. What does Wise have to do with it? Juan Pierre homered today. Wise still is making big bucks as an MLB player. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 02:33 AM) Christ, give it a rest. LOL. You tell him! Good post.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 02:22 AM) I want to use the swear filter to change the phrase "DFA" to "I know nothing about baseball and I'm unworthy of using this abbreviation". Then he should be cut. He's not a big league hitter.
  18. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 02:21 AM) he's actually hit it hard a few times and got robbed once I guess that's some progress.
  19. Good to see Tank is 2-2. Game not on TV or mlb so I looking at box score. Lilly 0-3. WOW. He should be DFAed IMO. He can't hit a baseball anymore.
  20. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 02:14 AM) Christ its the Guillen fan club president here to bring his crush into the conversation. Maybe we can draw the Royals into the conversation. That would be refreshing. The Sox are plummeting and talking about adding Youk and you are not worried? This team is playing so poorly it again looks like a team that many Sox fans would like to "rebuild." If this team continues its freefall, there's no reason to add Youk. And yes, the Royals have to be licking their chops playing the Sox 15 times in the second half.
  21. We're losing again?? It's the curse of those who follow Ozzie with the Marlins. As the Marlins go (in the tank) ... so do the White Sox. WHY CANT WE BEAT NL TEAMS and WIN AT HOME???
  22. If I come back this summer, what are the odds of somebody on here selling me two to four tix for a game or two but they must be good seats. Is my best bet club level? Is it nirvana up in the middle level?
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 09:39 PM) It would be nice to break up the Rios/AJ/Viciedo/Alexei part of the lineup with someone that can draw a walk. Only 43 combined walk for those 4 guys this season. That is huge that most of our guys refuse to walk. Shows again that hitting coaches don't matter. They didn't walk for Walk, either.
  24. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 08:01 PM) How many games have you attended in the last 5 years? Several major and minor league - royals and tbones. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 09:15 PM) Should have put the stadium on the river just south of Chinatown and created a destination with outfield views of the skyline, a park along the river, and an abundance of dining/nightlife/daylife. Could have had a palace, instead we got a mall, with advertisements blocking views of housing projects - we'll get another chance, maybe, in another 25 years or so. We blew it. I have a friend from Bridgeport/Armo(u?)r Square whose dad was a big-wig in Chicago finance. My buddy (who's a bit of a racist) told me that the stadium was an anchor to the neighborhood, and not-so-subtley hinted that it helped divide the neighborhoods. My response was: "for 81 days a year, and besides, isn't that what the Dan Ryan Expressway is for?" The fact that thousands of Tigers and BoSox fans (and hundreds of thousands of other tourists) fill Wrigley and the Cubs' coffers annually makes an actual rebuild viable economically, and Theo's job much, much easier than KW's. Great post. I heard some fan call a talk show the other day and said he'd been to 10 parks last year and they asked him to quickly rate them all and the Cell was last. He said 'the park in chicago' when he got to the Cell.
  25. QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 09:08 PM) Kevin is under contract for next year for 13 million I believe Good. No way in hell Sox will pay the club option on that. He's a rental, so give them Crain and be done with it.
