  1. I wonder if Beckham's glove is so good he'll reverse roles with Lilly (on some other team) at some point. Beckham will be a once a week or twice a week guy and late-inning defensive guy at any of the infield positions.
  2. QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 03:37 AM) I agree, it's time to end the Gordon Beckham experiment. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 03:41 AM) I'm back to my original prediction. ~.500 team, 82 wins. 1.) Lilly's been a good team guy. Why not give him the final 400 at bats at 2B and see if he can improve defensively? Beckham can re-invent himself in the minors the rest of the year or follow in the footsteps of Fields/Anderson and be done. 2.) I think Sox will be five North or South of .500. It's all gonna depend how they fare against fellow, lousy Central Division teams. It's still possible they could win a lot of divisional games.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 03:26 AM) Greg!! Happy to be on the same side as you. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 03:27 AM) Make that two of us! QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 03:33 AM) That's bs. He's broken. Dude has a big stick...he's just broken... Its really sad 1.2.) Yes .You guys are right. The man cannot hit. 3.) If he's broken, fine. It's time to send him down for THE REST OF THE SEASON. Let Lilly play second.
  4. I officially expect nothing out of Beckham offensively from now on. He's a good glove, no hit guy. Unfortunately that doesn't cut it at 2B. Dime a dozen position.
  5. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 03:19 AM) Well at least we fielded a competitive team for the first 2 weeks of the season. Haven't done that in a while. Sox getting blown out AGAIN. How come we NEVER blow anybody out ... or very rarely. Our team blows.
  6. Web gem by their second baseman. Like I said, one out of four will be about right this series if we can get the one. This is a mismatch payroll wise and shows up on the scoreboard.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 02:57 AM) Yeah, Greg's right here...The guy had retired 8 in a row to start the inning and then retired the first guy as well, and had thrown ~80 pitches. There was no reason to even have the pen up there. Amen, brotha.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 02:52 AM) Ventura's decision making has been less than impressive this year. I can't believe he left Danks in this long. Most managers let their highly regarded pitchers try to go six innings. This is on Danks ... epic fail!
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 01:47 AM) Don't worry, only 140 games or so left in his Sox career. It's hard to believe Beckham is this bad a hitter. He's Brian Anderson. Amazing.
  10. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 09:02 PM) We need a win Sox need to start winning at home before home turns into the pit it's been the past couple seasons. Even mediocre teams finish 10 over .500 at home. Start winning at home please, White Sox.
  11. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 06:44 PM) Santiago is going to have a few more chances at least. Have to wait now with Crain on DL. If you move Reed to closer, you are pretty short on proven right handed relief. Have to see what Axelrod brings to table. Nate Jones though has been decent so far. lol! If he blows the next save try it will be difficult to trot him out there again. It seems ridiculous to not try Thornton again. Sox can't afford to be blowing games with no margin for error this year. Already blown 2.
  12. thanx, now i need ptatc's opinion.
  13. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 03:23 AM) What really should have been a nice evening for Konerko and Humber turned into something kind of sad and depressing...and that was before the game got out of hand. The 20,000 fans had to be miserable. Games where you are out of it early suck. At least they got the Viciedo bomb.
  14. What a butt kicking. The Sox getting blown out. How come the Sox rarely blow anybody out?
  15. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 01:58 AM) On the bright side, I don't think there is a single person who wouldn't have take being tied for first place 19 games into the season when the season started. As much as people hate my Ozzie posts and repetitive posts, I dislike the optimistic posts every night. Most of us know the standings. We also know the eye test is indicating the White Sox are a .500 team at best.
  16. Boston with nine runs off Humber. Man is he rotten tonight.
  17. That's why you don't want to give up on Viciedo. But his HRs are few and far between. That was a hard hit bomb.
  18. This is why yesterday's loss was so painful. That was an automatic win ... now we down 7-1 at home in the third. Hangover?
  19. If Sox are going to win tonight, need to score at least 3 this inning. Let's go Paulie, single to center please.
  20. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 01:18 AM) They're about to win a 4th straight and we're about to lose a 3rd straight...who sucks right now? Yeah, all I care about are the actual teams. Boston is way better than Baltimore; if we get 2 this series it will be amazing; I'd expect one win.
  21. Would u guys be satisfied with one win this series considering the payrolls, team expectations, etc? If we can only beat Baltimore 1-4 then I don't like our chances in this series either.
  22. What a crazy sport. Humber is as bad tonight as he was great the other night. Sox are getting in the habit of sucking at home again ... yikes.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 01:01 AM) It's so painful watching our young guys hit. Ventura has got to find a way to get Lilly in the lineup and not let Morel and Beckham bat consecutively. I agree. I mean 2B is a position where guys are a dime a dozen. Just play Lilly at 2B the rest of the year and let Gordon learn how to hit in AA or AAA. It's time for Lilly. Beckham simply is no good.
  24. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 12:59 AM) Viciedo and Morel really could have used those balls dropping. But, when you're going bad...those balls don't drop. I really wanted Tank's bloop to fall. Man Beckham is a wreck of a hitter. All he does is foul offerings off til it's time to make out. Man he sucks at this time.
  25. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 12:35 AM) My guess is Santiago might have had something to do with that. You can't fool the fans. They know our lineup is still corps-like, similar to a year ago, cept for Paulie. The team is irrelevant right now. People (except for us diehards) are sick of .500 or floating 1-2 games north or south of .500.
