  1. Great play by Thornton on the bunt. Oops duck snort single. Now we got trouble. Dinger wins it for them. DP wins it for Sox.
  2. This should be interesting. This is kind of a big game so I'll say, last year we'd blow this game right here. An easy two spot for Detroit, game ova. This year? I have no idea. The team hasn't been totally dysfunctional, and has actually been good on the road, so I'm hopeful.
  3. What time is it where u live caufield?
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 5, 2012 -> 01:36 AM) He was out of gas facing one of the best hitters of the past 20 years who has seen his pitches 3 times previously tonight. Peavy was not out of gas. Peavy kept him in the park. Peavy and Verlander don't come out there.
  5. It must be great to be Matt Abatacola (sp). For Hawk to use that in his play by play is awesome.
  6. I can't believe you guys preferred a reliever to Peavy there.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2012 -> 01:30 AM) Wow, what a dumbass decision. I'd rather have Jake f***ing Peavy pitch to Cabrera than any bullpen guy. No harm, no foul. Sox were up by two; still up by one with four outs to go. A good bullpen would wrap this baby up.
  8. Well the bullpen only needs to get four outs and runner is only on first base. No excuses. Wrap it up. Peavy had that extra run to work with. No big controversy here. Just get it done, bullpen.
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 5, 2012 -> 01:29 AM) I don't agree with this. We gotta agree with it. Jake f***ing Peavy won't come out.
  10. Peavy is crazy. No way a manager can pull him. No way.
  11. Good thing Paulie thought better of throwing to second.
  12. Oops, Jake is at about 115 pitches.
  13. Did DeAza first run back on contact there? Scared me. Jake is a bulldog. He's going eight tonight.
  14. How many pitches has jake thrown?
  15. One more inning out of Jake, hopefully a zero, then pray the bullpen is on tonight. Bullpen much better when it only has to take care of six outs.
  16. Great bomb by Beckham. That's my boy, Dotel. What a stiff. Thank god Kelly didn't rob that ball; woulda been a shame.
  17. Way to take a few pitches, White Sox. Dotel dominating.
  18. Dotel is in. Time to bash one of my least favorite Sox of all time.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 5, 2012 -> 12:43 AM) It wouldn't have mattered had they signed Buehrle instead of Danks. We'd still be in the same basic position. They simply couldn't afford both. Attendance would be the same, that wouldn't matter. You're never going to see any major league team risking that kind of a contract on a pitcher in his 30's over one in what should be the prime of his career. My point it is an insult to the fan base to hype Sale as a starter, let Mark walk, and now have no replacement. We have to put some hack in there to replace an all-star starter in Sale. Yes Sale was looking like an all star.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2012 -> 12:36 AM) Greg, it truly sounds like it's something they decided they had to do before his elbow exploded. Didn't they take all this into consideration before they made him a starter? Now that he's a starter, let him start. If he has to stretch the arm out a year in the minors, fine. I still say Nolan Ryan is laughing his ass off. Think his arm didn't hurt at times? Now I insist they should have re-signed Buehrle. Oh wait, the Sox are too cash-strapped to do that. Now a dominant starter is gone to the pen.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2012 -> 12:16 AM) Maybe Tigers will name Smyly their closer after tonight's game? Great post. Short, sweet and mocks this organization as it deserves to be mocked! Nice AB Adam.
  22. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 5, 2012 -> 12:53 AM) For the love of god, can someone please ban this f***ing troll!? Who is a troll? With your temper, you might be the one getting banned? I'm pissed at this move and KC is only a couple games behind the Sox. Switching Sale makes no sense at all after reading the articles. I could see if this decision was made by a soccer mom worried about her baby's arm. Nolan Ryan would laugh in the face of this move. Ridiculous. Insulting. It will show at the box office. Sox fans are not stupid. This team is one horrid road trip from going down the tubes, considering it is blah at home.
  23. The Royals will finish ahead of the Sox this year. I can guarantee this. I think the Sox will finish ahead of Minnesota though, barely.
  24. Did they say this was permanent? Cause it has to be. What are they gonna do? Make him a starter again next year and when the elbow tightens after a month he's a closer again? Some of you act like this happening to the elbow was natural. Well why did they make him a starter then if the elbow needed to be stretched out. I don't get this. It's all stupid.
  25. QUOTE (Cali @ May 4, 2012 -> 10:59 PM) And that'll about end my interest in the 2012 Sox. The sweep by Detroit this weekend will also help. Hope Jake, AJ, Floyd, Thornton play well and get a haul in July. s*** maybe get like a Texeria deal Paulie with a year on his contract. Haha sorry made myself laugh with that, like Kenny could ever get the kind of haul Texas got... You can't fool White Sox fans. That's why nobody will go to the games anymore. They should offer a season ticket discount to fans who wanted to see Sale start all year. What stupid reasoning. He's a damn good starter now. He has elbow problems? Well f***ing deal with them. Send him down. DL him. Watch him like the Royals did Duffy. Treat him. Make him the closer??? It makes no sense.
