  1. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 11:01 AM) The radio station doesn't pay the Sox announcers, the team does. That's why Rooney may still do "Talking Baseball" with Bruce Levine during the season. Wrong, the radio station does pay the announcers. They are listed as team employees, but they are paid by the stations.
  2. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 05:32 AM) Well I can see your point of saying they will probably be the same, if I am in my car or cant get TV broadcast but get AM (when i was livin in michigan) I would be listening to the games either way...but for the people who would rather listen to rooney and farmer then Hawk and DJ i can see them leaving the tv broadcast on now...... I listened to Rooney and Farmer every game this year either on XM or on Gameday Audio. And I've got the MLB DTV package where I can hear Hawk and DJ some of the time. I will still listen to the radio because I love Farmio, but I may listen to Hawk and DJ some of the time depending on who the replacement is.
  3. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 03:27 AM) I don't listen to the games to hear John Rooney. I've bit my tongue on this for quite a few threads over the weeks. He's ok, don't get me wrong but I think that the ratings would be the same with or without him The guy was voted the best PBP radio man in all of baseball. The ratings will go down. And the broadcasts won't be nearly as good without him. The guy is a legend in broadcasting and whoever gets him is going to be lucky.
  4. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 10:47 AM) Well he had zero errors in 04 and we are gonna back Damaso Marte now? Seems that there are a million people in Lee's camp as far as making fun of Marte goes Back him as a pitcher? No. Back him as a person who deserves respect and doesn't deserve to be ridiculed by a teammate for his upbringing? Yes. No one on here is going to convince me to like Carlos Lee, so just give it up now. I'm glad Milwaukee is stuck with that cancer and not us.
  5. Who is Carlos Lee? Oh yea, the clumsy guy who can't play outfield and who made fun of Marte last year. No congratulations are in order from me.
  6. First, the White Sox sweep the Red Sox in the ALDS, in convincing fashion... Now, Theo Epstein leaves the club.... The demise continues....
  7. Merging this with the FA resource thread.
  8. As far as I know it should be under the same schedule.

Next stop will be you flying him to Soxfest, having sex with him and then discussing which admin you want axed.... By the way, are me and Jas in for that again this year? 12. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 06:42 PM) the huge one down on fourth st?? thats a nice store, Ive got to know Louisville quite well over the past year, great great town. Went down there for the Derby last year to visit a good good friend, and have been down there 4 times since going to shows at the Palace, UK Big Blue Mandess, amongest other things. Lousiville Slugger factory is sweet, and I highly reccomend the tour to any hardcore baseball fan. I gotta go back now so I can see all the World Champion White Sox bats on the wall. They need a Rally Crede exhibit. I find it funny that a lot of people that live there dog the town, but I gotta admit, the nightlife and people Even somewhat converted a diehard Yankee fan into a WhiteSox fan by kinapping her from ville and took her to a couple games this year. Talking to the people down there, the ville would absolutely kill for a pro baseball team.... I dont blame them, I'd hate to be forced to like the Reds. Not a big enough market for a pro baseball team. If they ever get a pro sports team here, it'll be the NBA. Pretty good town, lived here my whole life, but I'd rather be in Chicago, no doubt. It wasn't the Barnes and Noble downtown, by the way. And yes, the Louisville Slugger museum is outstanding.

  14. QUOTE(Goldmember @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 04:59 PM) have over 20 of all the different pics plus i believe i'm going to start making some of individuals on the team in their playoff/ws glory. trying to find a place i can put them in an album and don't have to upload and post each individual file. photobucket resizes the images, have gotten on to webshots but their confirmation email isnt getting through, i love and most likely in the end will use imgshack and set up album through there but hate having to load each individual file one at a time, any more suggestions? 1st 2 of series using all the different ws pics: also put "ws champs" into the al division winners one i did: if nothing else i'll post the rest like this later... My thoughts are you are the f***ing man and I'd like to see a World Champs wallpaper with El Duque, Mark, Jon, Freddy and Jose on it. Thank you kind sir.
  15. QUOTE(rventura23 @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 06:15 PM) online they all seemed to be priced in the $12-18 range if i recall correctly Links to anything?

  18. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 06:14 PM) Dunn, now there is an impact pick-up. He would hit 50+ easy at the Cell. And strikeout 175 times.
  19. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 06:10 PM) Odd. I wouldn't expect Bernie to the Rangers or Giles to the Cubs but I certainly like the bold writing! Johnny Damon, btw, is not staying in Boston. Just a hunch. Bernie to the Rangers he said because he wants to play DH full-time, he could do that in Texas and he loves Buck. Giles to the Cubs he said without much thought, but didn't really give an explanation.

Gammons was on Dan Patrick today and I'll try to recap where he said he thought players would go: Brian Giles - Cubs Rafael Furcal - Cubs PK - White Sox BJ Ryan - Mets Bernie Williams - Rangers Billy Wagner - Phillies Nomar - Dodgers (as an OF) Johnny Damon - Red Sox That's all I can remember for now.
  22. I went to Barnes and Noble here in Louisville and can't find anything.
  23. Get a tattoo on your ass that reads: Jose Paniagua is my father. Maybe now you can see how I feel about tattoos.
