  1. I remember going to Atlanta for Sox and Braves back in 2002. The fact that the Sox got swept wasn't enough, as I remember walking downtown seeing crackheads playing cards on two buckets right in the middle of the sidewalk. I was glad to get out of that town, it was a total dump everywhere we went, including right around the ballpark.
  2. Cut out the bickering in the game thread. That's all I'm going to say.
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 08:36 PM) Garland would have to give up 10 runs before Ozzie pulled him before the 5th inning. He's right on pace for that by the 4th inning.
  4. I see a Jon Adkins appearance in the near future.
  5. Authentic Mark Buehrle jersey with 2003 ASG patch signed and framed on my wall. Looks so damn beautiful it should be in a museum.
  6. Looking for my 5th straight game thread victory, let's hope it doesn't end here. Got the right man heading to the bump to keep the streak alive as Garland goes for his 16th of the year against Josh Towers. RIP EM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Welcome aboard Mr. Dolgin, we're glad to have you!
  8. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 11:29 AM) My flight (Southwest) was packed with fans. And there were a lot out after the game Friday and Saturday. Not so many on the return flight home this morning so either they left last night and didn't go to the game or stayed for today's. Baltimore is a cheap ticket, BWI is a breeze to get in and out of, and there are a ton of reasonable hotels by the airport so I think it's very appealing to out of town fans. As long as you agree to pay for our tickets as usual and have sex with us, maybe Jason and I will go with you next year.
  9. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 11:27 AM) They did also mention that Pods was getting treatment during the game, as was Iguchi after his HBP. He might have a small nagging leg injury from the sounds of it. I would suspect he may have a bit of a tweaked hammy like earlier in the year. This is the time to rest it as we're going to need him next week at NY and at Boston.
  10. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 11:22 AM) LOL.. Jim was asleep also. Lightweights.. These games are taking so long the 2nd half. Rooney was talking about last night on the broadcast that the average time of games is over 3 hours since the AS break... Damn umps tightening the zone big time.
  11. Baltimore is great, been there a handful of times, but never got a chance to see a game at Camden Yards....yet. One of these years I'll make it out when the Sox play. Beautiful city though with a great ESPN Zone. In regards to cheering for the Sox and getting something said to you by a Orioles fan, well, that's just life. When I am at a Sox game and I see people cheering for the other team, I give them a hard time. It's just part of being an opposing fan to the home team. Now if they made a snide remark, which it sounds like you did by telling them to change their sign to Chicago, you were best served with what you got. Just my two cents. The middle finger I admit was uncalled for. But oh well, don't let one bad fan form your whole opinion of Baltimore fans in general.
  12. This is a low risk, high reward move. If Blum helps us, that's great. If he doesn't, well, we gave up Ryan Meaux. Point made. I can live with no big moves, but I was hoping for Guardado or Wagner simply because I think we'd be better served shortening the games with Politte/Cotts in the 7th, Marte/Hermy in the 8th and then Guardado/Wagner in the 9th. Since it didn't happen, back to business as usual.
  13. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 11:03 AM) Took me 15 minutes to find the damn score Friday night... check your phone more often would ya.. That's what happens when you fall asleep in the 6th inning...I was out cold. Same thing last night, I was asleep in the 8th.
  14. Buehrle vs. Cabrera Sorry to whoever started the other game thread, but you just don't mess with a good thing, I've started the first three, now I'm going for the sweep. RIP EMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Garcia vs. Lopez Let's get 3 in a row and kick em while they're down. RIP EM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Contreras vs. Cabrera I'll try my luck again since we won yesterday. RIP EM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. I can see KW getting involved only to pull out at the last moment and announce another deal he had going on the side....Vintage KW stealth mode.
  18. McCarthy is what he is, a prospect right now. Marte, while proven, has been overworked the past few seasons and is not the same pitcher this season. If this deal is available, you do it, with this season in mind. Wagner would be here the rest of the season, then he'd be gone. But we'd also be able to shift Hermanson, Cotts and Politte down into the 7th and 8th inning roles with a horse at the back of the pen.
  19. Looks like it could be very serious after viewing the replay on Tivo a couple of times. Hope everything is okay with him.
  20. QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 07:08 PM) Well you confirmed it so i guess it is written in stone now. No reason to be rude about it, hombre. You were wrong, it happens, get over it.
  21. QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 07:05 PM) We'll c. Because if you listened to SC they said manny was goin to the Mets and Baez and Huff to the Red Sox. You heard wrong, I just replayed it on the Tivo and SC did say both Baez and Ramirez to the Mets. Perhaps you misheard. I have just confirmed what both Nite and I have posted is indeed what was said.
  22. QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 07:03 PM) I belive it was Manny to the Mets, and Baez and Huff to Bosten It was both Baez and Manny to the Mets, at least that is what SC reported.
  23. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 07:01 PM) On Sportscenter they just said that the Mets, Red Sox and D-Rays are taking 3 way that will send Manny and Baez to New York and Huff to Boston. Probably top prospects from both going to TB. Buster Olney has been quoted saying that this may go down tonight. Boston is stupid if they do this. I'd tell Manny to suck it up and play. You either play with your contract or go home. I'd rather have Manny, who has requested a trade in the past few seasons and still helped the Red Sox to the World Series, than Aubrey Huff.
  24. He is hated in the San Diego clubhouse, no thanks.
