Vote for Buehrle
As much of a Buehrle apologist that I am, this is probably not his fortay. In his two starts against Boston this year, he's gotten rocked. If those aren't a big game, I don't know what is. Therefore, I can't agree with selecting him as the pitcher you'd want in a big game. Although I will end up doing it.

Hawk & Mariotti War Continues
QUOTE(daa84 @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 09:45 AM) nitretrain take a look at mariottis past columns....believe me any time jay can he laces into hawk, even on around the horn reali will tease mariotti by sayign he gone, and mariotti will say "dont ever say that." mariotti has ripped hawk on a bunch of occasions in articles that seemed every bit as random as hawks rant. btw i personally agree with hawk when he says that mariotti takes every chance he gets to rip JR...the only thing thats wrong with it is that mariotti takes every chance he can get to rip ANYBODY in this town Mariotti is paid to be a sports columnist and give his opinion. Hawk, on the other hand, is supposed to be a play by play announcer for the Sox. He is not paid to critique Jay Mariotti. He is also not paid to be the biggest homer in the history of sports announcing. If I have to hear him administer another rimjob to a member of the Sox organization I might puke. Keep your damn mouth shut and announce the game old man.

Hawk & Mariotti War Continues
Rooney and Farmer > Hawk I can't stand the guy and I hope Mariotti hands him his ass in the coming days. I for one will support such an event. He's got an ego bigger than the state of Texas.

Harris in LF?
QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 12:07 PM) One of the guys here mentioned they can put Frank Thomas on the 60 day DL and that would also clear a spot on the 40 man. Another possibility, but if you try to put Wing through, since he is currently on the DL, you may get him through and then just option him to the minors. Right now, I don't think he'd draw much interest.

Harris in LF?
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 12:04 PM) Guys I see can be dropped from the 40-man: Arnie Munoz PAulino Reynoso Matt Smith Ryan Wing Kevin Walker No way on Munoz. The others are questionable, I see Wing going though as I've discussed with Jas.

Harris in LF?
If Anderson was called up, that is terrific news.

Harris in LF?
So much for us finishing with the best record in the AL this year. With only a 6 game cushion, I see Boston or Anaheim passing us by season's end.

Harris in LF?
Another thing they need to consider is that you are not going to replace Pods. Just putting a fast guy as the leadoff guy isn't going to translate to success. Willie Harris 1) Can't get on base. 2) Can't steal a base if he does get on base (via a HBP or a walk or a duck snort). 3) Can't play Left field very well at all. This will make no sense. This has to be an Ozzie input decision. I know damn well that KW can't possibly believe that Willie deserves another shot. Afterall, the guy went out and got Iguchi to save us from having to start Harris to begin with.

Harris in LF?
Bring up Anderson and make this the lineup. Iguchi Rowand Everett Konerko Pierzysnki Dye Crede Anderson Uribe Looks a helluva lot better to me than having a mental midget like Willie Harris in the lineup.

Hermy Hurting?
if Hermanson goes down, we are in deep trouble late in games. I guess we'd use Cliff as the closer, but that makes it essential for Cotts/Marte/Jenks to be able to handle the 7th and the 8th. I surely don't trust Jizz or Adkins. If Hermy went to the DL, who would be called up? Doesn't seem like Baj is going to get a shot, although he is the logical choice.

Harris in LF?
Does this confirm a DL trip for Pods?

Gamethread sunday vs sawx 8/14/05
NESN annoncers said that they are planning on waiting it out and getting the game in. Sounds like a batch of storms are due to hit in the next 15 mins or so and then they may try to play again. So much for the team getting into Chicago in a timely manner this evening.

Boston Herald subscriber to post this JUICY piece?
When I think of potentially juiced players and the White Sox, only one name comes to mind and he is now playing in Detroit.

- 08-05-05 - Mariners @ Sox -
It's a good song, but it has nothing to do with this game thread. Therefore, it is damn creepy for someone to start a game thread with imagine lyrics. Also, how can someone like both the Red Sox and the White Sox?

VOTE IN ESPN.COM'S POLL...NOW!!!
Who cares about the Red Sawx and "Red Sawx nation"? Last I checked, the White Sox have the best record in baseball and therefore, are the best team in baseball. As far as I'm concerned there are four teams I root for in MLB. 1) The White Sox 2) Whoever's playing the Yankees 3) Whoever's playing the Red Sawx 4) Whoever's playing the Cubs :fthecubs and the Sawx and Yanks too
