  1. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 10:53 AM) Aaron's SO/BB ratio is 4.19 while Anderson's is 2.62. So, even though he strikes out more, he has been better at the plate than Rowand. Aaron's slugging this year is below .400. Anderson is a better fielder, better arm, better athlete and overall better with the bat. Don't get me wrong, I like A-Row, but he has lost something at the plate and is more of a guy who gets a lot from not the greatest tools. You can't compare big league numbers and AAA numbers. I've seen plenty of players put up huge numbers in Charlotte, it's like the Coors Field of AAA. Then they get to the bigs and do absolutely nothing. Anderson is not better than Aaron Rowand. Rowand is also one of the leaders of this team, he is signed cheap, is a clubhouse asset and a fan favorite. He fits the definition of a grinder. Sorry to burst your bubble.
  2. Hey if they want to give us Robinson Cano, they can have El Duque. Otherwise, f*** off NY.
  3. QUOTE(rangercal @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 10:48 AM) can we say valentin #'s? You can say: not ready, not better than Dye/Pods/Rowand or you can say trade bait if the right deal comes along. He fits all three.
  4. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 10:42 AM) How so? You aren't moving Pods, probably not Dye and Anderson certainly doesn't need another year in AAA. Rowand also has lost his power and for some reason is bad when there is a guy on 3rd with less than two outs. However, he is good with two outs with runner in scoring position. This is a legitimate question. Anderson is not ready. Look at his strikeout numbers. Almost one K in every three at-bats. Until he improves that ratio, he'll be toast against big league pitching.
  5. He is our everyday centerfielder for a while. He's not going anywhere. This post, quite frankly, is ludicrous.
  6. HELL YEAH, huge props to Mark B as he continues his quest for a 20 win season. EAT s*** TRIBE YOU ALL SUCK!
  7. I don't see what putting Crede on the DL would do. He said himself that this problem is going to bother him the rest of the year but he's going to try and play through it. Doesn't sound like something that is going to dramatically improve with an extended period of rest. Hell unless the guy is hurt to the point of needing rehab or surgery, I'd like to keep him on the team and let him play 3-4 games a week with Ozuna getting the rest of the duties. He'd even be valuable in games which he didn't start as a late inning defensive replacement for Ozuna. Personally I don't see Crede going to the disabled list. Or a trade going down this weekend or next week for that matter, at least not one of giant proportions.

  9. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 10:37 PM) I don't know how to search the site for something like this, but maybe one of the admins can help ... I know it was just this year, perhaps the last time the Sox were in Cleveland. Here ya go... http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=34312
  10. The man who always comes through for me, comes through again. Thanks once again Goldy. Goldy and his images...YES!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Congrats to the team at the half. Don't get satisfied with where you are. There is still a lot of baseball to play. And to the following guys, you need to pick it up in the second half: El Duque, Marte, Contreras, Shingo, Vizcaino
  12. Being aggressive is one thing Cora. Sending Frank is another. Way to kill a rally.
  13. Ozuna is completely worthless. He should be sent down before anybody else. I've seen enough of this butcher.
  14. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 01:57 PM) My grades aint good enough to go to IU, (I'm going to Southern Illinois, nothing to be ashamed of). But IU is by far my favorite D-I team, and unless they play the Dawgs, I'm rooting for em. Too bad you aren't in-state, they'll take pretty much anyone in-state.
  15. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 01:42 PM) Encarnacion was sent down. Activated infielder Anderson Machado from the 15-day disabled list; optioned third baseman Edwin Encarnacion to Louisville of the International League (AAA). Updated rosters: http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/minor...8fgrosters.html Sweet, thanks for the update. On a side note, El Duque and Marte are pitching here today but I'm too damn lazy to go out to the game. I believe B-Mac may pitch as well.
  16. QUOTE(Benson&Rexage @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 01:45 AM) I'm starting Law School there in September. Can not wait. I went to Ball State in Muncie for my bachlors. Once you get outside of Lake and Porter Counties in Indiana ( The two counties less than an hours drive from Chicago) the hole state is one big s*** bag besides B-Town. :headshake :headshake :headshake
  17. are you sure Encarnacion will be playing? I think he's up with the Reds which means he won't be in the game.
  18. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 01:30 PM) Is that quote in your sig real? Haha, that's from one of his songs, but no, he didn't direct it to the AL Central.

    AJ

Sign him to a long-term deal....NOW. I love this guy, he is quite possibly my second favorite player on the Sox now behind Mark. Hell I loved him on the Twins believe it or not.
  20. Only fitting that our true ace heads to the bump. Hope this is the first of many to come for you Mark.

  22. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 06:32 PM) He also gets burned on defense the entire game going for those steals. He doesn't lead the league in steals he would have been on the all defensive fourth team. He must have done something right to get his team past the "Baby Bulls" and into the second round. The guy is coming off a career year and all you people can do is rip Cleveland for signing him. He is not a superstar, but he is a solid player that does a bit of everything. He can dish it a bit, he can rebound well for a guard, he scores and he can rack up steals. He's not a great three point shooter. He will be fine as the 2nd or 3rd option in Cleveland. I do recall him dropping 33, 9 boards, 7 assists, 3 steals and just two turnovers in the big game 5 at Chicago. Or was I just dreaming?
