  1. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 06:48 PM) ugh - the game's not on Extra Innings??? Nope, sucks majorly, it's either MLB.tv or MLB gameday Audio. Sighs.
  2. No one is untouchable in the right deal. That's about as simple as you can put it. Now guys I don't want to see traded would be, in this order: 1) Anderson 2) Young 3) Gio 4) Valido 5) Jenks
  3. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 05:54 PM) Whoops.. sorry. I never realize that there are people from outside Chicago here.. LOL. Only reason I posted was that I figured that if he wasn't getting the game locally on 26 on the dish, he was an out of towner.
  4. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 05:47 PM) I'm off in a few guys. I'll be landing just in time to see a Sox winner hopefully... have a good weekend everyone. Have a great time Steff....
  5. If you are an out of towner, you're out of luck to a degree. Tonight, there will be no TV on DirecTV, due to WCIU as well as the Baltimore telecast not being picked up by DTV. Tomorrow, Fox has the game. For me, that means I don't get the game and could be the same for others who may be in different viewing areas. Sunday, the game will be nationally televised on ESPN. Monday, the game will be on 734 if you own the MLB package and I am assuming on CSN for those in the Chicago viewing area. Hope this helps shed some light.
  6. QUOTE(Y2HH @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 05:17 PM) If he can, he cant...if not, who cares, honestly...this team was better before Thomas' arrival. Thank you very much, as you are exactly right. Perhaps they were playing over their heads, but then again, they didn't have a guy swinging for the fences in the 3-hole. Like it or not, that is exactly what Thomas was doing in his limited stint this year, going for the longball. That, in my view, does not fit in with what has made this Sox team successful this season, especially a team which has had to scratch and claw for runs at times.
  7. What a surprise, he is done for the year. Hopefully this is the last time we have to count on him to be productive. He is clearly past his prime and will struggle to stay healthy, if he even plays again.
  8. Once they toss him on waivers, you can get him pretty much free, as long as you're willing to take on that albatross contract... 19M in 06, 18M in 07 and 20M in 08- deal includes 2009 and 2010 Team Options worth 20M. If you remember correctly, a few years ago he was on waivers and no one picked him up.

    USA Today

Further validation of the greatness of Rooney and Farmer. Put a similar list together of TV tandems, Hawk and DJ wouldn't crack the top 10. That's why for me, it's radio with the TV muted. Just can't beat it.
  10. El Duque vs. Bedard, let's hope we can figure out this lefty. RIP EMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. QUOTE(daa84 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 10:14 PM) probably the most respected sports writer in teh nation
  12. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 11:40 AM) I think Widger is a Free Agent. I was thinking that him and Ozuna may both be FA, if someone could clarify on this, I'd appreciate it.
  13. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 11:35 AM) Don't use "jew" someone might think you are an anti-semite Good point SS, forgot this wasn't the chat. Fixed it. Stupid me.
  14. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 11:29 AM) Couldn't this thread have waited until November sometime? YOU NO TEL ME WHE I STAR A THREA In all seriousness, one good thing about this will be if someone asks, what is so and so signed for next season or asks about Frank's contract for next year, we just point them here and we've got a good idea of everyone's contract situation. Just my two cents.
  15. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 11:24 AM) I thought AJ was an arbitation eligible player... not an option.. I believe you are right, I'll change it now, sorry.
  16. Even though its a long while off, it's never too early to start thinking of our potential financial situation for next season. So here it is, what is known of salaries for next year along with potential salaries as well as FA's. We can keep track of this and update it all the way until next year and keep discussion open as well. If anyone has any major corrections, because I know there could quite possibly be errors here, please let me know and I'll fix them. Enjoy. Players signed for next season with 2006 salary: Orlando Hernandez - 4.5 million + possible incentives Tadahito Iguchi - 2.4 million Aaron Rowand - 3.25 million Dustin Hermanson - 3 million Juan Uribe - 3.15 million Jermaine Dye - 5 million Damaso Marte - 2.25 million Freddy Garcia - 9 million Mark Buehrle - 7.75 million Scott Podsednik - 1.9 million Jose Contreras - 8 million 11 Players - 50.2 million signed already for next season Possible Player Options: Frank Thomas - 2006 has dual option: 10M Player and 12M Team or a 3.5M buyout Carl Everett - 5M Team option for 2006 with a 500K buyout Cliff Politte - 1.2M 2006 Team option or 100K buyout Free Agents: Paul Konerko, Pablo Ozuna, Chris Widger Arbitration Eligible (please note that even if a player is arbitration eligible, this does not necessarily mean the team will go to arbitration with the player. The team can either sign the player to a one-year deal, multi-year deal or go to arbitration with the player. The team can also choose to non-tender the player, making him a free agent): Timo Perez, Jon Garland, Luis Vizcaino, Joe Crede, Willie Harris, AJ Pierzynski Non-arbitration Eligible or Protected Players (contract can get renewed in the first two weeks of March or earlier for at least the minimum salary of 316K, if he has at least 1 day of service) Bobby Jenks, Ross Gload, Brandon McCarthy

    Laguna Beach..

I watch it for one reason....Her name is Kristen.
  21. Until I get home to find out one of my four cats, Ian, was killed today after being hit by a car. Sad part is we took the little guy, who was less than 2 years old, in after he showed up at our doorstep last August after being dumped by a family in our neighborhood who didn't want him. Even though its just a cat, just makes you more appreciative of the things you have and realize that something could be here today and gone tomorrow. (Sorry just had to vent somewhere after just being dealt this news.)

    Jenks

QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 05:48 PM) I'm gonna start a Bobby Jenks Drinking Game. That's the last thing he or any of us need.
  23. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 04:25 PM) Hey, I'm interviewing him, not Heads. In that case... Alex from Louisville, KY asks: - Update us on how you feel your arm strength is now compared to where you were before suffering your injury. Do you feel stronger? - Has losing velocity on pitches forced you to become more of a pitcher rather than just a guy who takes the ball and throws it out there? - Who was the most influential figure in your baseball career? - Who is the toughest guy you've faced in your pro baseball career to date? - Who was your favorite player growing up?
