Rex, do you have any logic as to why we are still employing Mike Jackson. Wouldn't Baj or Majewski be better options at this point? I've seen Majewski in ST this year and also in a few games here in Louisville and his fastball has looked explosive at times. Never seen Baj except once in ST so I can't really comment on him at this point. Just wanted to get your two cents.

It's hard to argue whether or not we'd have won the game or not with someone else in RF, but the point about bench players being exposed if they get regular PT is something to think about.
-
I agree, I would have rather seen either Perez in RF or Rowand in RF and Harris in CF. I'm not the biggest fan of Gload. I think it was a mistake by the Sox to go an extended period of time like this without a regular everyday player. IMO we should have called up Joe or Jeremy to fill the RF vacancy with Maggs out. Eventually, a bench player playing everyday will expose weaknesses. I'd say it will be a while before Gload gets some PT after yesterday's debacle.
-
Well we really need him to come back, but I've heard all kinds of conflicting reports and nothing from Mags, so who knows.

I am being realistic, if we are out of the race, you trade away players who are going to be free agents and get prospects. And I am not a front runner, I am just more realistic than some and try not to look past what is actually going on with this team. I'd love to see them stick in it these next few weeks and I think they can if they regain focus and play well, but saying they can and them going out and doing it are two different things.
-
Same here, I am just really frustrated right now because we can play a lot better than we currently are. We need to steal one of these two games and then head to Minnesota and hope Mark and Rauch open the series well, then we'll have Garland to go to in the final game up there.

I never said anything to you, so I can't really reply to what you're saying. Sorry.

Was I even talking to you Steve? No. But whatever, say what you want, as you please.

Go ahead and bookmark it. They just took 2 of 3 in Boston. They've won the division the past two seasons and we're a game from the WS in 2002. And once they acquire an arm near the deadline, they'll improve... And did I mention that Koskie, Jones, Hunter and Mientkiewicz have all been hurt at times this year. This will be the 4th season with our current "core group" of players (Thomas, Ordonez, Lee, Valentin, Konerko) leading the way and they don't seem to be going anywhere. I think I've just grown tired of waiting for things to get better and they're obviously not.
-
And Minnesota is better than us. Much better.
-
Do you really think we are going to be anywhere close to first after Minny, Cubs, Anaheim and Oakland?
-
They'll sign a SP to place in the 2 or 3 hole and it will look somewhat like this: 1) Buehrle 2) FA Signing 3) Garland 4 & 5: Cotts, Schoeneweis, Rauch, Diaz, Honel, etc. Definitely won't be good enough to beat Cleveland as they will have 1) Sabathia 2) Lee 3) Westbrook 4) Sowers 5) Will it really matter?
-
Maggs and Loaiza. And if anyone wants Valentin, they could deal him off as well. If we aren't going to win the division, call up Borchard and Reed and get ready for next season.
-
A few times and he's done decent. Nothing more than a last man out of the pen though.

Don't call this a knee-jerk reaction to this game, this is a realistic view of what may be to come for the Sox. Our next four series after this are At Minny, At Cubs, then Anaheim and Oakland at home as we head into the all-star break. To me, without Maggs and our staff faltering like it is, this is a huge recipe to turn this club into sellers rather than buyers by the all-star break. With Minnesota feasting on the Brewers this weekend and our debacle to come tomorrow with Diaz facing the Cubs, we could leave this weekend 5 games out of first place. Then we play a 3 game set in Minny. This season has the perfect recipe to get very ugly very quick very soon. The way I look at it, unless something drastically changes, we will be 8-10 games out of the race by the all-star break and could be looking to sell some of our pieces rather than acquire. While most of you won't like to admit this, much like KW, be prepared for it to be a realistic possibility soon.

Planning for the future, we are going nowhere this year if we continue to play like this.
-
Call up Borchard and get rid of Gload, he's proven his true worth in a clutch game today.
-
Right Right, but is she Brutal? I think not.
-
Brando, who do we have scheduled to pitch when we head into Wrigley?
-
Yea, he could be ready as early as next year... Sabathia Sowers Lee Three great young lefties.
-
Never said she was, but since you feel inclined to call a beautiful woman ugly, I'd like to see what you're walking around with...
-
Pic of your girlfriend? Please.
-
What would be funny is that every person who calls any of these celebs, whoever they may be, ugly or whatever, to post a picture of their current gf/wife, f*ck buddy or whatever so that we can have a real humor fest.

Good, leave him there til his next start, with only bread, water and a Twins scouting report...
