  1. In case anyone wants the complete list (I did beat you to it Rex), I've started another thread with the complete 10 top with analysis.
  2. For anyone that knows, is there any chance they would give Sweeney a chance to pitch?
  3. Here it is for those who want to read the complete version:
  4. I am not trying to get on ya...I was just wondering what this theory you were talking about was exactly...Anyhow, good times...
  5. Okay, what is your point? The Frank picture is part of an article about how the DH is here to stay as part of the ESPN baseball section. It has nothing to do with ESPN Insider.
  6. Look at their track records, Buehrle is a proven starter, a former all-star and in the past 3 seasons, only 6 or 7 pitchers have won more games than him in the majors. Santana, on the other hand, is a guy who had a good season last yr, has been mostly used out of the bullpen and wouldn't command jack s*** compared to Mark in arbitration. Consider the Buehrle deal one of the bright spots of the offseason, like it or not.
  7. What is this based on, examples please, I'd be fascinated to learn of this newfound theory.
  8. That's not to say that Levine doesn't know whats going on, but this guy is so negative about this season that he just assumes the Sox will be in a position to dump players as the dog days of summer reach us. What's to say the Sox will be out of contention at that point? I think Levine is blowing way too much smoke out of his ass right now in regards to all of these moves he is talking about and already talking about dismantling the team before the season begins. I've almost heard enough of the guy.
  9. And I am still wondering what the point of this post was in the first place...
  10. Bruce also said the A-Rod deal was back on a few weeks back and even went on Sportscenter to discuss it. We all know how true that was. And Rauch611, in case you missed what went down this past weekend, the Sox aren't going to be making any moves. They are going to go into the season with the team they have now. That was made clear at Soxfest by both KW and Rick Hahn several times.
  11. What in the world are you talking about???
  12. No trades are going to happen with the Dodgers. KW made this pretty apparent last weekend.
  13. I would have to agree that I feel good about this year the more that I think about it. We are not expected to do much of anything. But then again, 2000 we shocked everybody. I think with JM finally out of there, a solid bullpen, 3 good starters and a potent lineup we could surprise a lot of people. Even if we don't win the division, I think the team will have a great attitude and it will be a lot of fun to watch them.
  14. Pitchers Mark Buehrle, Esteban Loaiza, Jon Garland, Scott Schoenweis, Jon Rauch, Danny Wright, Cliff Politte, Damaso Marte, Billy Koch, Shingo Takatsu, Kelly Wunsch, Robert Person Hitters Paul Konerko, Willie Harris, Jose Valentin, Joe Crede, Carlos Lee, Aaron Rowand, Magglio Ordonez, Miguel Olivo, Sandy Alomar Jr., Marvin Bernard, Ross Gload, Juan Uribe, Frank Thomas Lineup: Rowand, Lee, Thomas, Ordonez, Konerko, Valentin, Crede, Olivo, Harris Pitcher: Loaiza
  15. Who cares about the Scrubs...as far as I'm concerned the Sox need to focus on having a good season and forget about the Scrubs and the hype they are going to get from the Cubune and the Scrub Times. As long as we keep winning the Cross town series and have a good year, that's all we can ask for as Sox fans.
  16. And anyhow, it doesn't matter because after he stinks for the first 6 weeks, someone else will take over his playing time permanently.
  17. Cigars were not what he was smoking. He did have a few cigars in the bar, but when he was standing over the escalator he was smoking cigarettes, not cigars my friend. I stood there and saw him smoke 4 or 5.
  18. Adding to my above post, here's the lineup I'd go with for the upcoming season: 1) Rowand 2) Lee 3) Thomas 4) Ordonez 5) Konerko 6) Valentin 7) Crede 8) Olivo 9) Harris
  19. That isn't saying much. Until Harris realizes he is no longer in Charlotte (a small field where he hit a few homers) and starts slapping the ball and getting on that way, he is going to be a mediocre player. I think that is our major hole this season, as I think Rowand will excel in center.
  20. We couldn't get rid of him soon enough. Maybe he would have improved with a swift kick in the ass from ozzie, but under JM he couldn't cut it. Jimenez will not be a mainstay with the Reds.
