Middle infield???
If Matsui goes to Anaheim, David Eckstein would be available for a cheap price and I'd be in favor of getting him. He does nothing spectacular, but he's solid and he makes contact (unlike "swinging for the fences" Jose). He's also a scrappy guy who has played well in October before.

I agree, 3 years is not enough. The guy is only 30 years old. Hell, Glavine got a 3 year deal last off season and he's a lot older. Gotta give Bart at least 4 years and possibly 5 if you want to keep him.

Why would the Marlins trade players they just rode to a WS title? They're not going to be looking to deal their position players unless they are totally ripping someone off. Hell, with that pitching staff, if they resign Pudge and possibly Urbina and add a cheap bat, they could go right back into October next year.

Michael Holley column
Or maybe Holley used to work in Chicago and happens to like JM and wanted to put his name in there???

I was just pointing out that their logo sucks, which it does. Nothing against the site though.

Beastly, I hate to burst your bubble, but there is NO CHANCE we are signing Tejada. Just come to that realization and get over it. Now, as you were...

Michael Holley column
http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/reds...t_little_going/ Here's the most laughable part folks. "So let the speculation begin. Will it be Glenn Hoffman, Bruce Bochy, or Jerry Manuel? Or will someone else win the right to keep a clubhouse full of free agents and free spirits focused on winning? Whoever this man is, he had better be tough. There is a strong feeling around New England that one thing kept the Sox from the World Series this year. And that one thing was a competent manager." I used to respect Holley a lot from Around the Horn and reading his columns from time to time. But JM as a candidate for the Red Sox? Come on Michael.

I'd like to see them come after me for stealing bandwidth. I'd happily put this in their face... :fyou- World Series Game 6
He's good no doubt...but I don't even think he's the best young pitcher on his own team. A.J. Burnett is an absolute stud but unfortunately has been on the DL most of the year. AJ Burnett is good, but he's no Josh Beckett, that's for damn sure.- World Series Game 6
So much for Prior being the best young pitcher in baseball. Josh Beckett- Heard it through the Grapevine...
You are correct. They'll definitely have Lieber, Contreras and Mussina in the rotation. I'd say the other spots are up for grabs, depending on what else goes down. I think Pettitte stays, but that's just me.- A prediction Managerial thread
Jailtime, so I don't suggest you do it.- Which do you prefer?

Hell, I have to drive 2 hours to get to a decent airport (Nashville). I might as well just drive to Chicago. Very true, since I live about 3 mins from the Louisville airport, I'm in Chicago in about 50 mins via flight. Much better than driving.- Which do you prefer?
If at all possible, I'll do that. That would be cool. In fact, I was going to try that this past year, but had to curtail my summer activities due to some unexoected expenses. I know HSC and some other posters came down this past summer when the Bats and Knights played, but coincidentally, I was in Chicago that weekend for the Sox-Devil Rays series...- Which do you prefer?
Usually in the downtown Hyatt or Marriott. Usually take Southwest into Midway and get around on the train...Southwest is real cheap out of Louisville to Chicago. I flew up twice this past summer, drove once.- Which do you prefer?
You should come up next summer when the Knights play the Bats. Two summers ago I went over to the team hotel, met Borchard for about 20 mins, talked some baseball, got some stuff signed and had one hell of an experience...- Which do you prefer?
I made it to 6, didn't meet anyone from the site, hope to change that next season. Another goal is attending 10 games next year.- Which do you prefer?
My family is originally from NW indiana, but I've always lived down here in Southern IN/Louisville area. Just grew up with being a Sox fan in my blood, now I'm an addict...Do you make it up to many games?- Which do you prefer?
Shows how I much I ever travel outside of Louisville. I'm originally from Indiana... - WSI's Main Page Logo
