  1. I predict you will post the same thread over and over and over again.
  2. Tiffani Amber Thiessen, top 5 in the world IMO...
  3. Lakers are making a big mistake if they deal him. Remember, pre-Kobe there were no titles for Shaq. And post-Kobe, there will be no titles for Shaq. I'm hoping he lands in San Antonio next season and teams with Duncan and they beat down the Lakers. Because I for one, cannot stand Shaq Fu.
  4. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1648431 Is it just me or could this be a ploy to take attention away from the trial? Something tells me it could be...
  5. Just think of what the hiring of Kelly would do to the Twins/Sox rivalry...
  6. Talks about Boston too much? No way....
  7. Plan B certainly would have to be Ponson at the top of the list. Gotta throw names like Batista and Lidle in there as well... And even perhaps, GASP, Jeff Weaver... Unlike the rest of you who seem to believe we are doomed if we lose Colon, I beg to differ. While Loaiza will surely not deliver the same results of 2003, Buehrle and Garland will both improve, as will our No. 5 spot. If we can plug in a solid No.3 who can throw near 200 innings, I think we should be fine. Here's the way I invision things: #1 - Buehrle #2 - E-Lo #3 - FA Signing #4 - Garland #5 - Rauch/Cotts/Show/Wright/FA signing
  8. I'd be all for Kelly, especially considering his knowledge of the Twins and the AL Central. Plus, working as a scout, he's got a good overall knowledge of the entire AL.

    'The Originals'

I joined Sept 2nd 2002, so I guess I don't count as an original.... I missed out on what, 2 whole days...
  10. That would be like kicking an old stubborn donkey. Won't do you a bit of good because the old fart is already dead set in his ways...
  11. Beastly, while I usually give you the benefit of the doubt, please stop making new threads that have already been covered numerous times and are based on the same basic ideals. If you need clarification on what I mean, contact me on AIM or by PM and I will explain it in a clearer fashion. I think I speak with many of the posters here at Soxtalk by asking for your cooperation in this matter. Thank you sir.
  12. I hope that's the case, we can use the money in a better way elsewhere.
  13. I think you are wrong about Frank, he'll be back whether we like it (which you seem to) or not (which I don't want him back).
  14. All the talk so far has Soriano headed to KC for Beltran. So Magglio for Soriano would be even to me. I would vomit if the sox made that deal. It would be a whole lot easier to just sign Jose Cruz Jr., because in the end he will put up the same numbers as Soriano. Soriano has totally lost the 'magic' of his 2002 season. Granted he still has a lot of raw talent and raw ability, he just is not as good as people suggest he is. 1549, I would have to disagree with your assessment of Soriano. The guy is 25 yrs old. And you say that Cruz Jr would put up the same numbers as Soriano, but the stats say otherwise. Soriano in 2003 hit .290, which I believe is better than anyone on the Sox besides Maggs and Lee, hit 38 HR, which would rank 2nd on the Sox and drove in 91 runs, primarily from the leadoff spot. He also stole 35 bases, which would have easily led the Sox. Besides Pujols and Cabrera, I see him as one of the brighest young stars in baseball.
  15. This is not surprising. Looks like we'll move to Plan B, which could be Sir Sidney Ponson.

    I'm gone....

Don't know what I did to deserve all this respect around here... Maybe when you guys (new mods) see posts that you question you should get another's opinion before pulling the plug on it? Different perspective might help you see if there is, or isn't, cause for alarm? I asked apu about it and he said it could go either way. I usually try to ask Jas or apu. But you are right on this.
  17. Actually after now seeing his sig, I like how I'm in there with Mariotti... Strike up the band....
  18. WinningUgly. I can clearly see how you thought it was "funny"... It is rather funny that someone would go to the trouble to put a picture of me as the O in their sig. Like anyone is even going to know who that is anyhow...

    I'm gone....

Because it's my right... isn't it? Is this not a thread about threads being locked? About Gash leaving because of it? So.. I commented. It's not my place to tell you how you're doing or how to do your job. I made an off the cuff comment. If it hit home, so be it. I'm sure you're doing a fine job. I respect your opinion and your entitled to it. I'd even want you to tell me if there were things I can improve on. In fact, I welcome it. Guess I'm just a little sensitive after yesterday when I acted too early on that thread by Gash. Sorry.
  20. And who would it be? I think it's funny honestly, that's why I even posted the picture for everyone to see.

    I'm gone....

The day after "black saturday" there were 2 locked threads. Thats when I was paying attention.......there has probably been a few more. Now it seems the mods are more sensitive to arguements between members. The thread that Gash made as a joke to Beastly was locked, then reversed. I dont believe a thread should be locked on the grounds of an arguement unless it starts to involve more then 5 people. People can disagree without having an argument. IMO, being "trigger happy" with the lock and delete keys is causing more trouble. me into shape. That was the only thread I locked yesterday, then I unlocked it and talked to Gashwound about it. Apparently, I can do no right in some people's eyes... Oh.. that's not all. But it's not my business. If you're doing something wrong, I'm sure those who make the decisions will let you know. Don't mind me.. Then why bring it up? It's pretty easy for everyone to sit here and nitpick at threads being locked. I do my best, that's all I can do and I'm open to criticism, just as I apologized for locking Gash's thread yesterday. I realize that I've locked a thread or two that could have possibly been allowed to stay open. But whatever, I'm sorry if I am not doing a good enough job. I'll try to do better.
  22. Who isn't trying to cut payroll? Someone is going to have to sign him.
  23. Reports are the Yanks are ticked off at Soriano because he is completely in a fog when he's out on the field. Not saying its a good thing to have a player thats in the fog playing for us, but I won't deny his numbers and if he's doing that lost, just think what would happen if someone would straighten him out. You have to remember that he's still very young and his numbers the past 2 seasons are downright nasty. He reminds me of a young Vlady at the plate. I think giving up on him at this point could be a big mistake for the Yankees, but maybe they really do want to pursue Castillo. If the Yankees offered Soriano for Maggs, I'd probably do it if I was KW. You'd cut major payroll, have flexibility to sign a good pitcher and a OF and overall I think the team would improve. I think it's only a matter of time before Soriano becomes a major star, if he's not one already.
