I know Jas wants to see these as well as a few other posters who I mentioned it to so here is the link: http://community.webshots.com/user/aboz56 I've also got my pictures from the ALCS in 2005 up there and I'm going to try and add some other Sox pictures today. To see the Anaheim pics from this year just click on the album link. My personal favorite is the picture of AJ just starring at the camera. Thanks boz

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 10, 2006 -> 11:38 AM) Ok, so I just replied to 1 person's quote in a thread, posted it, then replied to another person's quote, and the system joined those 2 posts together automatically. Is that normal? Because if it is, it's really cool. I noticed it earlier, did the same thing for me. Really nice feature.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 10, 2006 -> 11:25 AM) Thanks for this story Boz, that sounds awesome. Can you expand on these dugout suites. I have always wondered about them. Pretty much Jason was able to get the seats, they were actually in a suite that is partly owned by Scott Boras. In Anaheim the suites are real nice because they are on level playing ground with the dugouts. So basically we sat right next to the Sox dugout, there was nothing separating us but glass. When the Sox were on deck, we were maybe 5 feet away. Even AJ was talking to us. The suite itself had catered food, couches, a TV and all the drinks you could want. Desert was even served. When you walk out from the suite you go right into the seating area. Then in the hallway outside of the suite was the glass between us and Thome where you could watch him hit. I'm going to go ahead and get my pictures uploaded today on webshots and I'll post a link here.

QUOTE(YASNY @ May 10, 2006 -> 11:22 AM) That quote is all well and good on the surface. Then you get into the question of just how persusive Boras is with his clients. Can he convince Joe he's being treated unfairly or being lowballed? That's what remains to be seen. I think it was a pretty telling side that Boras couldn't get him to go to arbitration. Coming off the postseason he had, I think Crede could have won an arbitration case against the Sox. Instead, rather than cause any friction, he took a fair deal and slid clear of any controversy. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 10, 2006 -> 11:25 AM) We'll see. As Boz said though, Crede's stated he loves it here. He seems to be a favorite in the clubhouse, and with the fans now. I would definitely say the odds are much greater for us keeping him, than seeing Crede go elsewhere. Sure, Fields is doing good in the minors, but do we really want to start from scratch again? Crede's finally coming into his own, after some early career struggles. Why would the Sox or Crede want to start over, after all of that? Fields will either have to switch positions or be used as trade bait if we're going to keep Crede for the long haul. And I'm fine with that. Even if Crede can't keep up his current offensive pace, he is worth keeping simply for his glove.

One thing I noticed personally about Thome is how hard the guy is working. During the Angels series, I had a chance to get a look at Thome working out in the cage below the stadium between at-bats. (Thanks to the dugout suites Jas got us which were badass by the way, thanks to Jas again.) Anyhow, in the hallway outside of the suite, you could see into the visitors batting cage below the stadium. Thome was down there stretching out between at-bats and hitting in the cage. Some of the stretching he was doing was unbelievable. For a man his size, he has amazing flexibility. Between at-bats he was busting ass, breaking a sweat and getting in plenty of cuts. The guy looked like a monster and he's definitely playing like one.

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ May 10, 2006 -> 11:14 AM) His agent is driving the bus and is not the type to do anything for the good of the organization. Not true, if he was, they would have gone to arbitration this past offseason. Instead Crede told him to get a deal done and the parties avoided arbitration. This was pretty well documented.
-
QUOTE(WCSox @ May 10, 2006 -> 11:12 AM) If his hitting continues to improve and Boras is still his agent after 2008, he'll be playing elsewhere. Thankfully, we have his rights for the next two seasons. He is one guy I don't see letting Boras get in the way. As long as we don't lowball him and we continue winning, he's going to want to stay. He likes being on the club from what I gather and he is becoming a fan favorite quickly.

QUOTE(YASNY @ May 10, 2006 -> 11:09 AM) What's Crede making this year? 2.6 mil

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 10, 2006 -> 11:03 AM) It should be really awesome once we get the new skin up and pretty up the clickable smilies region. I'm still jazzed about this. Now we don't have to fire you. One other positive from the upgrade is that we got to keep post counts, joined on dates, avatars, sigs, etc. In other words, we didn't have to start up again from scratch.

QUOTE(JimH @ May 10, 2006 -> 11:05 AM) Correct, a total of three arbitration years. This year was the first. After 2008 he can be a FA. Hopefully it won't get to that, I'd offer him a 3 year deal this offseason for 18 million.

I like everything so far, it's just going to take a little getting used to.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 8, 2006 -> 09:29 PM) What is the best method of backing it up? I never really thought about it, now that I am thinking about it I want to do it Save it DVDs would be the best. Second best would be save it to your hard drive of your computer or an external hard drive of some sort. Mine crashed because I didn't safely remove it from the computer by going to safely remove hardware and stopping the device. I always did that never thinking much of it, then I took it right out of the dock and bam, it's all jacked up.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 8, 2006 -> 08:51 PM) My worst nightmare. If that happens, I think I will have a heart attack. I have spent an awful long time putting my little jukebox together. Make sure its all backed up. I didn't have mine backed up and was only able to recover about 1000 of 2600 songs using a program called RecoverMyFiles. It was not a lot of fun. The stuff I couldn't recover was because it took all of the other songs and spliced them together. Apparently when you delete something off the ipod, it keeps it on there but is marked for deletion. You can't access it to play but its still there. Then it actually deletes it if you need the space on the drive. This is the case with a lot of hard drives.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ May 8, 2006 -> 09:09 PM) Shows you how much I have paid attention to music lately. I would compare him to John Mayer if I had to make a comparison. He has some decent stuff but its pretty much too light for me.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ May 8, 2006 -> 09:05 PM) Ever heard of Jason Mraz? I'm not up on music like I used to be, but here was here on Saturday at the previously mentioned festival. I heard he was really good. Jason Mraz is mainstream. He's had a couple albums out and is on MTV and all that pretty consistently. From the post you responded to I thought maybe you were thinking he was up and coming or an independent label guy. He's had a few top 40 hits now.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 8, 2006 -> 09:03 PM) Gage has got a lot of people ot answer to if this doesn't happen. Exactly what I was thinking, especially since Rotoworld is now saying we reported he had a MRI. Hopefully that is confirmed.
-
Is it confirmed that he underwent a MRI? Just wondering.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ May 8, 2006 -> 08:59 PM) I haven't been to Indy in several years, but I can only imagine it has gotten better. About 20 years ago, they made a conscious choice to clean up the downtown area and grow based on sports. The biggest things you need to know is that the downtown area is pretty clean and safe. As previously mentioned, Broad Ripple area has many bars/entertainment for 20somethings. Listen to Bob & Tom every day and you will laugh your ass off! As far as living, Greenwood, which is just SW of the city wasn't too bad an area in the past. Aside from there, most of the better areas are north of the city. Castleton, Fishers, Carmel, etc. They aren't gonna be cheap though. Then again, you get what you pay for. Zionsville is probably the nicest area in the entire state of Indiana from what I've seen. Carmel is up there too. Oh I can't wait to move back to Indiana one day.

My ipod just crashed the other day so I may not be the best person to ask right now.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 8, 2006 -> 08:10 PM) Before I even get to Contreras going onto the DL, I gotta say I am extremely disappointed in quite a few people in this thread. I can understand thinking that someone is trolling in this situation, heck I might even have joined in the calling out parade. But I can't believe how many people don't have the common courtesy to apologize for being wrong. Be a man and own up when you are wrong, it is a big part of the transition to adulthood. I can't believe only one person had the decency to do so. This site is better than that, or at least it used to be. Part of the charm here has always been the friendly atmosphere and the thirst for information. Instead lately it just looks like people are looking for a sacrficial lamb to put down so that they can feel good about themselves. There aren't many times I will say this, but I am f***ing embarassed to be associated as a leader of this site today because of this. I agree for the most part. There's a lot of posters who think they know it all around here and pretty much bash any comment that someone has that they don't agree with. As SS2K5 said, own up and act like adults. As for the guy who made the post, he too needs to grow up for the post he just did with the middle finger or whatever that was. He was far from professional as well.

About the only things worth watching are PTI and then Sportscenter briefly if you missed a highlight. Other than that, its garbage. -
QUOTE(wcw2323 @ May 8, 2006 -> 08:03 PM) Still waiting for the 50 guys who were naysayers and basic lemmings today to stand up and apologize for the BS they were slinging. I chose to not divulge my source as requested...period, end of story. :finger That post really doesn't encourage people to apologize. Even if others didn't have class by bashing you, doesn't mean you should make posts like this. Just keep your head high and move on.
