Charlie Haeger to likely start Wednesday
QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 8, 2006 -> 07:38 PM) The avatar move was adorable, guys. Having a civilized talk. Very professional move on your part. Later. Not sure who did it, but it wasn't me.

Charlie Haeger to likely start Wednesday
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 8, 2006 -> 07:35 PM) Sean Tracey should be #2 on that list. When he his walk totals down, let me know. 21 walks in 24 innings won't get it done. We don't want Neal Cotts debut part II. He does have nice numbers overall though. Right now, I'll take Broadway and his nice AA numbers. I know you think he's not ready, but since he is a college guy I think he's closer than a lot of people give credit for.

Charlie Haeger to likely start Wednesday
QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 8, 2006 -> 07:32 PM) I realize you are also one to stir the pot, but, I'll answer. I would rather have Redding. No, Redding doesn't pitch with smoke and mirrors and may not be aesthetically pleasing, but, he has 21 wins against major league ballclubs and we know he isn't going to piss down his leg in front of 30K. I'd rather forfeit the game. Tim Redding sucks.

My choices for this are either: 1. Haeger 2. Broadway That's it. No one else would even be considered.

Unless he is moving permanently to the rotation, leave B-Mac in the pen. He is not ready to start and we need him out there.

Moving to Indianapolis
QUOTE(JimH @ May 8, 2006 -> 11:31 AM) Check out the Broad Ripple area, not that far from downtown. Maybe a 20 minute commute. Lots of young people there, places to go, eat, etc. Really clean and friendly part of town. Most definitely, got a friend who lives there and loves it.

Kentucky Derby Thread
QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ May 7, 2006 -> 01:13 PM) Horse racing isn't even a sport. I wouldn't agree with that. I'd like to see you ride a horse like those guys do. I'd say it's safe to say there is athleticism and skill involved. That being said, this is one of my favorite days of the year because I won't have to hear about the damn Derby locally for quite a while now. I hate the damn race and all of the hassle it brings around here as far as traffic goes.

WOW
38K in attendance for a game against Kansas City? That's just awesome.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 6, 2006 -> 09:45 PM) Another great outing by Vazquez, he's been flat out impressive thus far. He has been damn good but I want to see him against a non-AAA team at some point. Hasn't he already faced the Royals three times? Glad to see the Sox took care of business.

American Idol Predictions
QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ May 6, 2006 -> 09:37 AM) I think Taylor is the only Idol I would actually buy a CD of. I wouldn't buy a CD from any of them. The show is entertaining to watch though.

It's one game. Get over it and win the next 2.

American Idol Predictions
Do they not have an age limit on Idol? Taylor needs to friggin go. He has no career of himself anyhow, except maybe a Wedding Singer or something with his ridiculous dancing. Best talent left is Kat and Elliott. Chris and Taylor are just annoying and unfortunately probably one of them will win.

Am I crazy?
QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ May 2, 2006 -> 09:27 PM) How can Cincinatti not be considered a legitimate contender? Let's see. Staff Ace: Arroyo Closer: David Weathers If that holds up over the entire year, I'll be shocked.

Am I crazy?
QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 2, 2006 -> 09:22 PM) Yes, the Mets are damn good, definately better than the Angels IMO. Angels were the team I think were a stretch possibly in my group, but I still like their pitching with Escobar, Lackey, Santana and a healthy Colon. Who knows if a healthy Colon will ever happen. Plus they usually never beat themselves and they still have Shields and K-Rod.

Am I crazy?
I made a comment to a NL fan recently which didn't sit well, but its something I think may just be valid. My comment was that the NL doesn't have a team I believe can win the World Series. I feel that the top 6 teams in baseball when its all said and one are all in the AL: The White Sox, Indians, Red Sox, Yankees, Athletics and Angels. I said maybe the Cardinals or Mets should be in that group, but I doubt it. Am I crazy or not?

Anderson's hitting
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 2, 2006 -> 07:33 PM) How many teams haven't had a top 10 pick in 15 years? Who knows, I'm too lazy to do the research on that. But I don't see how anyone could argue the Sox have drafted well in the first round.

Anderson's hitting
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 2, 2006 -> 07:12 PM) Because Liriano and Johjima and Jeff Mathis and Howie Kendrick are really tearing it up! Edit, actually, it seems you're right, Paplebon is still considered a rookie isn't he? I thought he blew through the Service Time rule last season, but he was Rook of the month in Apr. He was runner-up to Contreras for AL pitcher of the month and won AL rookie of the month for April. With the way he's pitching, impressively thus far, he could challenge for 35 saves. Also Liriano has been great as well, 14 relief innings, 21 K's and a 3.77 era. Pretty damn impressive.

Anderson's hitting
QUOTE(watchtower41 @ May 2, 2006 -> 07:05 PM) If BA comes back to have a stellar season and wins ROY, the same people will come back and gloat with "I told you so... what a stud." This team has no place for bandwagoning fans. He has no shot to win ROY. Also, some of us so-called bandwagoners have been here since Day 1 of this site...and much longer before that as Sox fans. Sorry if we expect our CF to hit above .140. Maybe that's asking too much. Mostly everyone around here I know of likes BA and want him to succeed. It's just frustrating to watch him take Borchard like cuts with that long swing, constantly falling behind in counts and failing to make adjustments. The guy moved fast through the system, which somewhat begs the question, was he really ready? And for the record, I don't remember an outcry to release Pods.

- AAP: Lance Broadway
QUOTE(Dam8610 @ May 2, 2006 -> 06:25 PM) Does anyone think he could get a call-up at the ASB if he keeps it up? He's been lights out up to this point, and it looks like he might be ready for the next level. I think he could be up in September and could definitely be in line for a pen spot next season. He's been nothing but impressive thus far and is a college guy. - AAP: Lance Broadway
